strange how things change, not long ago this was outperforming the ftse, with next results not until November, does anyone think vod can pull something out of the bag to get this moving again before then, new deal or something ?
Dan tell us what you think mate we need you here

Hi Soton
I sold out of all my shares in May last year, to cash in a small SIPP.
Decided best use was to pay down debts and mortgage, so now have much healthier equity in our house.
for the first time ever, we own both of our cars too.
In order to keep my hands in, planned to start a small ISA with some of the SIPP, so no more tax grab on divis etc.
Have messed up quite a bit (as normal) and just hold one investment in PSN.
Hope that will compound nicely with the big divi, and will sell 1/3 at set targets £25, £27.50 and £30, if it ever gets to those levels. Otherwise will just increase holding via DRIP.
I did have ASEI for a while which had a nice divi and a varied set of holdings.
Hey Ho - think I'm a bit off topic as this is a VOD chat. A lot of simularities with GSK if you ask me - a decent divi but SP always seems to struggle - my view FWIW is that VOD is one to trade, buy around or below 120 and sell around 130.

Have a varied portfolio biggest holdings are BP LLOYDS LGEN do have a fair bit in VOD looking to trim that at some point avg of 126 with the latest divi....Still hold IUKD i know you sold out of there some time back but it's doing well for me with a nice quarterly divi may dip my toe into PSN but not sure what is going to happen over the next year or so....Does anyone?
Hi Soton
I'm sure you are right with that. It has a tendency to drop down well below £14 and then recover to over £16.
If you have sufficient funds, you could hold a "core" for long term
and then have a "trading batch".
Hindsight is phenomenal - it could have stopped me buying PSN at £23, £21, and £20 lol.
Still i'm only down about 7% thanks to some divis, especially on my first batch.
Cheers - C
CSD I tend to buy and hold for the long term but with hindsight wish i had sold out when it was £18+....guess i shell have to be braver in the future set limits and stick to them saying that think GSK is at a bargain price at these prices....
O.K. thanks guys. I will stop posting on here, I am not in a mental institute, but probably will be if I continue to post on here?
Soton
Wish I had funds to buy GSK.
Great long term trend for over 15 years. Buy <£14, sell > £16.
Repeat twice a year. you make 20% + divis.
Was flying until recent split. Always massively behind AZN in capital growth of SP, but much better for long term trading.
I frist bought GSK @ 1350p in 2007, and AZN was approx £28. For years AZN was 2x GSK SP. but eventually AZN broke the mould and now 4 x the SP from 2007, while GSK back to where it was again.

you can't win them all all of the time, as you know great results with aviv and lgen also mng, directline took a hit the other day, but they have now put their premiums up 15%, and was wondering if vod are able to do the same
Needs to start rising had a bad day with GSK went down quicker then VOD on a bad day lol
yes please do move on guys, we will all appreciate
thanks
would like to think this will start rising, but with telecoms being so competitive, are they able to up there prices inline with inflation, maybe some of the vod experts might be able to help with that ?
