Sorry a bit late but the market doesn't open till 8 so put me down for 115 fingers crossed
Vodafone still don't charge roaming charges in Europe. That is the reason I cancelled my contract with three & changed to Vodafone. This is also the reason they should pick a lot of new business up in the UK as people will won't want to be getting ripped off by other networks.
MPO818, why don't you try saying something of interest to this board then that would be a good start, the only saddo here is you, you are boring us all already
board continually trying to guess the following Fridays closing share price, what a bunch of saddo's
Put me down for 1.1525. Can’t believe this share is this low. Got back from holiday in Spain last week, so many tourists on their phones all day by pool, Roaming charges must be rolling in!

FredRubble. Or is BarnieFlintstone. Do you write scripts for carry on films by any chance? Or are you just always on the job? We all want a big rise next week, apart from those who like to be short. Enough of this rude humour please?
Well done Roofer again. You cant beat an "upward spurt" so ill go 110.69 next week. Thanks
Well done & thanks roofer & a very nice tribute. I will go 1.16 please, as that is what I paid for my last top up, so not very good for me at the moment.
Cheers Robleo ....if only had one be sat somewhere tropical but not too hot....but did notice buyers were out in force today so might see a small upwards spurt sometime in the week...CSDl i would change the word drip feeding to A Drop but u never know might have trade myself here next week see what happens Mon morning .....Atb
By heck Roofer wins again, with yours truly adding another silver medal tothe collection.
Another poor week for the VOD SP, but better for potential buyers.
If I had spare funds this would be a good time to start drip feeding.
Of course it may go lower, but historically, you should see higher SP on the horizon.
For next week I'll stick with all the ones again - 111.1 for me on 16/9 plse

Anybody who doesn't understand the Vodafone share buybacks (M.C.B.'s) I suggest you google Vodafone MCB. & read the company announcement dated 9/3/22 entitled, mandatory convertible bond & associated share buy back. Part of which states "Vodafone has given irrevocable & non discretionary instructions to Goldman Sachs in relation to the2022 buy back program". So they are obliged to buy back the shares. If they didn't, the share value would be diluted, & the share price would fall accordingly. It was basically a way of borrowing money, & I have seen of figure about 1.2 to 1.5% paid to the bond holders, although that may be an old figure. The whole business model of vodafone was, & still is, based on high gearing, so they had to borrow to survive. Of course some may argue that they have over borrowed, but these decisions have to be made in advance, not with hindsight.
No worries Gary, i still think it's worth a top up around a £1 though, but only time will tell
Cheers

My apologies Rob & others. I felt that there was a bit of depression floating around on the board in the morning as the SP went under 1.10 so I attempted to post something positive to cheer posters up, keep chins up etc.
The latter post when I said I wouldn’t buy back in yet is how I currently feel, please note the yet.
I have £1 as a buy back in, depending on the next earnings report on which the next dividend payout in Feb ‘23 depends. I sincerely hope for you guys that it never gets to £1 & that VOD goes from strength to strength.
Anyway, I’ve recently got into house building stocks so hoping to keep Mrs G in her gin and new shoes over there. GLAll here.
Gary, you are giving out some very confusing messages here
early this morning you posted this
My recent research shows that on the whole analysts seem positive about the stock & there’s a consensus Buy rating. Morgan Stanley analysts believe the shares could reach 1.80 which represents a 60% upside. I’ll be back in if it gets to £1, the benefits of 5G will have an effect sooner or later.
Please only post positive messages today …
then at the end of the day you were getting very negative saying you would not buy back in here
Well keeping paying a div doesn't seem to be helping the SP either.
Mole I wouldn’t go as far too say that VOD should cancel the dividend. Many institutions / pension funds hold here mostly for the divi & if it were cancelled in its entirety there would be a massive sell off & the SP would be in the pennies, imagine a run on the pound and there we would have it. With a 25 or 33% reduction & IF the savings were used to reduce debt now that would focus the mind. They have been mooching along paying too high a divi for years & where has it got the SP, precisely nowhere, just saying.
Gary is correct. They should cancel the div.
Dan is correct. IT will not go down well
Fleccy is correct. There are too many institutions that won't let them cut a div. VOD is stuck in a corner having to appease the wrong type of investor while they need to be directing the capital to future business. Reducing debt would be nice, but not necessary if they inflate earnings. They won't do this without heavy investment, but they keep throwing the capital away on buybacks and divs. Institutional short sighted nonsense.
The market knows it, hence the SP decline.
A company can issue shares subject to various conditions for a number of reasons, usually to pare down debt. I recall them raising £2.9 billion through the issuance of mandatory convertible bonds a while ago, these were then converted to shares to pay back the bond holders. Not saying they are going to just that they can if the earnings take a downturn.
I don't think vod generally issue more shares. They do buy back a vast amount however via Goldman Sachs, which is explained in the R.N.S. on this site. They may have to issue shares to the bond holders, this all part of the Goldman Sachs buy back program & is mandatory. It is complicated, but it is the way that vod borrows money. You could try to get more info on the vodafone site.
