'Who else is going to build €154Bn of assets with new debt '
Well todays RNS shows the incremental nature of investment in this space and Germany in particular.
'Vodafone said FibreCo will invest around EUR7 billion, to be partly financed by debt, which will be non-recourse to Vodafone and Altice. Debt facilities of EUR4.6 billion have been arranged to support the deployment of FibreCo's fibre network.'
https://www.lse.co.uk/rns/VOD/completion-of-vodafone-and-altice-jv-in-germany-rre09db5aimtxxl.html
'rates will be higher for longer'
VOD has no material near term debt due to repay and long term coupon c2% or 2.5%
Who else is going to build €154Bn of assets with new debt at higher interest rates. Thats why Malone is also on board with E& and Niel, isnt it?
You misunderstand what happened yesterday. There was no rate decision, Powell was speaking about what to do. He let the markets know they are looking at accelerated rate increase, not a pivot to lower rates, and that rates will be higher for longer.
Big money puts it in their spreadsheet and thinks maybe we get 7% on a us treasuries later this year. Why buy vod for a 7% div that will either see equivalent capital loss or a div cut.
VOD needs that new CEO with a credible financial strategy fast.
I may well buy if the strategy and plans look good from new ceo and the price is right at the time to give a projected total return cagr above 15% next 5 years, but I doubt it somehow.
Yawn dream on, this sxxt on its way to .40p with a zero dividend with new ceo. Like all U.K. dividend stocks, capital destructive rubbish,
With more shares in sticky hands like E&, supply demand should force SP up. Higher interest rates will make margin calls more expensive. Price increases will feed through as revenue growth.
so Mole, it has gone from 4.86 to 4.89 in 24 hours, so an increase of 0.62% , Now according to you this only affects Vodafone and is a crisis that means you would never buy Vod. You really are a joke.
A 2 year treasury now yields 5% and powell said today rates will go higher for longer. The market demands a risk premium for holding VOD stock for a div vs a bond or treasury. Unless there is some amazing performance in the financials to report, the SP will go down to build in the risk premium, this year at least.
not moaning for the sake of it guys, but i have never known this share to be so bad, usually this starts to recover in the new year, we are now into march and still below a £1 really thought this would have been heading towards 130 by now, just makes me wonder what will happen here come the next results, what are everyone's expectations and thoughts here in the coming months and results day
Oh dear - I think its you who needs to take his medicine Daniel - you seem to have lost the plot as usual . I think you will probably find there is only one person on here who gets so aggressive towards fellow posters calling them pathetic , moronic . I thnk you need some anger management lessons - maybe sell a few shares you can pay for it with that - but better hurry up before you lose the lot !!!!
Cont' So why hasn't getting rid of Read solved the problem then? Instead of your moronic negative moaning, why don't you come up with a solution? You have not got a clue, just someone who thinks they know it all, but knows nothing, apart from how to whinge. I don't know the answer, but I admit it, instead of being a know it all like you, who knows nothing.
Gary. I half expected to hear from you as the other sad , moaning idiot on here . If you don't like vodafone, just go away, sell up & stop posting your crap on here. No serious vodafone share investor is interested in your negative rubbish. Ok so you have lost money, get over it & move on. You are pathetic, please take your medication before posting on here in future. I am a long term vod share holder, if you don't like that, then tuff. Nobody is forcing you to buy or hold
Hi sidi mate, yes doing ok thanks, but definitely not going to get rich with my vod shares, made a top up at 86 lately thinking this was going back up to the 130s but still waiting patiently, may sell up my last top up at 110 if it gets there, just can't see anything good happening here in the near future, at least it's still paying a dividend so far, but the next results will be a concern
good to see you back
best of luck
Get a grip danielh, Read was a 100% unmitigated disaster for Vodafone, Mikey is correct.
Vodafone shares are trading barely above all-time lows.
Not my words these but ... "VOD has offered HOPELESS shareholder returns during Read's tenure,’ said AJ Bell’s investment director Russ Mould. (I think that he knows a thing or two)
And just for information Morningstar calculates that the stock has put up total returns of just 2.02% a year on average over the past 10 years. A basic FTSE 100 tracker has done three-times as well.
I think the anti-Read brigade as you put it do have a clue what they are talking about, it's the ones that think otherwise that should stop investing & lets the adults do it.
Mikey. What exactly is it you want me to keep believing? Do you really think that your whinging & moaning is going to help vodafone? How many like you are there still left working for vodafone? God help us.
“Perhaps they have kept Read, (Advisor), but just pretended to get rid of him to placate the anti Read brigade who didn't have a clue what they were talking about.”
Hahaha oh dear poor Daniel - you keep believing Daniel
fleccy. I think the problem is many vod shareholders expect the new C.E.O. to have a magic wand, & turn things around quickly, when the reality is, it is not that simple, & may take time. Whoever takes over will be paid a large salary, so unless shareholders stop demonising the B.O.D. we will get nowhere. As for your conspire theory, sounds good to me, as long it's good for the vod sp. Perhaps they have kept Read, (Advisor), but just pretended to get rid of him to placate the anti Read brigade who didn't have a clue what they were talking about.
Read stepped down over two months ago and the news has gone quiet on his replacement. Since the announcement that Read's going, E& have increased their holding from 10% to 14% and Liberty has built a holding of 4.92%, you'd think there'd be news on the CEO replacement by now.
The RNS advising that the CEO is stepping down was on the 5th December, so I assume they've been looking for a replacement for at least 3 months and Read is only acting as an advisor until the until 31st March, so you'd expect they would have found a replacement by now. I still suspect there's something else in the pipeline, like a merger with another big player; Back in December I speculated that Verizon may be in the frame and until they announce a replacement for Read, I'll be suspicious about the events around Reads rapid departure.
Mikey. You should have trusted your opinion & not bought back in. You don't seem to have a clue what to do, do you? Why don't you just give up with vodafone & do us all a favour?
'Emirates Telecom has approval to raise Vodafone stake to 15%'
1% increase circa every 2 weeks
And the usual drop on America opening . Pile of junk - should have trusted my opinion and not bought back in - oh well . BOD need sacking with Read .
Went to get broadband and phone deal failed credit test never happened to me before.
Ten days to check credit test now gone to openstream good deal.
No wonder share price crap
Emirates Telecom has approval to raise Vodafone stake to 15%
Thanks Slownsteady I'll have a look..
