Is Vodafone going bust?
Yes and no
The business imho will be merged with another provider as times goes by this event will eventually happened just like stars get born and dies slowly time is constant vodafone is not end rip
Big players pay other entities to buy stock at a agreed overall price. Then they buy the bulk from that entity when amount of shares achieved. This way they don’t need to notify every % increase to the market otherwise market will increase the sp.
I believe this is what’s happened. Just don’t know at what price they agreed. Hope it’s not much lower than it is
Scary how much the market has rejected the update. But… I bought more again today at 78.7p. Seems cheap to me. The market’s going to do what the market’s going to do.
Obviously a bad move if the company is in real trouble, but I don’t think so. And I’ll take my chances this close to ex div.
I would like to see much more dynamic leadership than this though.
GLA DYOR
E& are of course buying.
Who remembers BT sticking around 100/110 while Drahi was loading up another 7%. BT was held back to facilitate his buying price. BT was unleashed once he completed the buys
Is Vodafone going to bust? The market has sold this off like they believe it is which is frankly nonsense.
Vodafone only floated in 1994 at around 60p. Are the so called experts saying the company 30 years later is worth the same as it was back then?
Did Etisalat not say they would be increasing their stake to 25%? What are they waiting for...
Just had a conference and the word is go long GSK and short Vodafone.
Although i got no idea how to go short obviously.
"Porsche1964 must be a very wealthy and successful trader as he knows everything and always seems to be the right side of a trade."
He makes stuff up and spouts nonsense most of the time. He comes across as a bit mental when he blabs on about Brexit, which is just old news, he must be really sad.
I will definitely pay him 25% of my profits if he can guide us sheeps
Porsche1964 must be a very wealthy and successful trader as he knows everything and always seems to be the right side of a trade. I wonder why he spends so much time here! Why don’t we just pay him 10% of profits for his info?

"So predictable"
If it was... We'd all be millionaires 😜
Confirms MDV interest in expanding business/ enterprise sector. Could capitalise on vodafone investors sick of the SP

Decided to add some more at 78.6p -

Well I've missed it for now. 81 to 81.5 looks like the next decision point. For me there would be very good reason to believe that the 78 area is/was the bottom. I'll leave it now until Tuesday I think.
Suck in a few more then watch the inevitable decline once the US opens
So predictable
Depends on the starting point. Germanies economy motored ahead while I'm was stagnating, made a slight pullback more likely. Their inflation is a lot lower than ours.
Check out DAX vs FTSE performance and you will see how far behind we are, largely because of the Brexit disaster.
Hey Porsche, what you say about the recession in Brexit Germany?
I think it’s bottomed ; it should go back up at £1+ range, still cash generating profitable business with large international network

Odd people talking about cash in the bank, debt is 34 billion PLUS 12 billion in lease liabilities, 46 billion debt for a company the market considers has a break up value of 21b. Good luck with that😂😂😂
The current VOD price! Made me think and ask myself what is the point of buying VOD?
Can't be for growth because we are back to where we were 25.5 years ago!
Can't be for income, because the SP is falling by more than the dividend since the Verizon Wireless deal!
Only good for trading? I wonder....
Best Regards ValueS
I stopped trading this a while ago with the expectation it would fall to 84 p or lower. It's clearly done that. Having looked at the chart I have a previous low around 78p from Sept 2002 (mthly chart). We've not yet touched that level but we could very well do so. I'd say anywhere from there (even from here if you believe it's going to bounce) is a sensible place to start looking for long positions. I'll be watching signs of a turnaround and chancing my arm.
In % terms we’re closer to 60p than £1
At 60p a share the upcoming dividend would be over 10%
At this rate of decline it will not be long before the dividend is higher than the share price assuming the dividend isn't cut
