Good to see the CFO buy shares..always a good sign when the money men/women buy in
I'm definitely in the, shareprice going up is good, camp, robleo. I'd like it to go up a lot! 🤞 for some sustained better fortune here.
Garonne, I've worked out a good formula for analysing all these goings on, if the share price goes up it's a good thing if it goes down not good, unless of course your one of those investors who just wants it to go down so you can buy more, so can only speak for myself as i just want to see this go up, 90p would do me to sell off my last batch, so let's hope it's a good week
not had Guttersnipes prediction for next week yet, maybe he will have a look at his tealeaves later on
but best of luck
I'm sure the M&A comission will recommend a further enquiry as it'll make them look like they're taking concerns raised by politicians and UNITE, seriously. The bureaucrats will ensure maximum delay, no doubt.
"So, next week we have the competition regulators who have until Friday to decide whether to launch a further investigation into the deal / merger with Three3. SP to rise if they don’t or vice versa if they do?"
I'd say that it's very likely to go to phase 2, so more upside if it doesn't than downside if does.
73p for me thanks

Garonne,
I think you made a very good point there. Small investors don't affect sp very much, if at all!
The big institutions, funds do by a long chalk.
If the price has trickled down so much because they thought the divi unsustainable, then this cut in divi may well meet their criteria.
As a big, reliable, dependable divi company it has many attractions.
Will be interesting!

Underwater?
I'm no expert but if their income covers their debt payments, are they not at least, floating?
Ordinarily I'd agree with this but I hold a lot of VOD for income and they are significantly underwater but divi keeps rolling in ....
But if the SP goes up significantly then the new dividend becomes much less attractive. That's a concern as it might imply that the BOD are not expecting a material shareprice rise before 2025 although to be fair, other companies currently paying no dividend have seen their shareprice rocket. (RR) Personally I'd rather increase my capital wealth and forgo a shareprice hampering dividend payment. It would be interesting to hear some thoughts on the impact the dividend reduction might have on the SP and popularity of VOD as an attractive destination for pension funds and institutional investors.
Forensic, the muppet that you refer to has nothing better to do. It's either sit in his bed sit all alone staring at the damp walls or posting pathetic, childish comments on boards like this under different pseudonyms. (He'll have to look that one up in the dictionary as his amoeba size brain won't know what pseudonym means).
Back to VOD & the question about next Feb's dividend. If it assists total dividends for the current year, which includes Feb 2025 are expected to remain at 9.0c per share but then reduce to 4.5c per share from the new financial year (Apr 6 2025 on) with an aim to grow from that base. If correct that should calm the nerves of income investors & give a bit of breathing space to the many pension funds etc who hold here for dividends. Anyone buying shares now atb he current SP will still get a dividend of 5.65% after the 50% cut, none too shabby. Good luck all.
On Friday a total of 688,428,852 trades were recorded, with more than twice the volume of trades On Exchange vs Off Book; This is slightly different than previous spikes of this sort of magnitude, where the majority of trades were Off Book. I have no idea if this has any significance, it's just an observation.
