Hi - VLS has an inked offtake deal with SWA
Humber will follow - sector is going to be on fire over the next few years - BA article today really good - VLS are not behind the curve - SAf is the end product but the killer in VLS is the feedstock - not cooking oil !
P66 installed a used cooking oils to deisel process unit in 2018 and another one late 2020. SAF was never in their plan until now. Given the tiny production volumes, I suspect this is a vanity project for both parties. Still, an inked offtake deal is more than VLS has at AlAlto.
Nothing to do with VLS. The Philipps66 fuel is made from waste oils.
Will the competition from Phillips 66 win? If yes hopefully they will takeover VLS .
This is going to be huge……. Buy all day long…
It's literally a stone's throw from Velocys' proposed site.
There's a reason you have lots of refineries within one or two miles of each other. It's because there's a major fuel inlet there, which allows it to be piped across the UK and direct to the airports. I think it can only be a good thing that IAG wants to begin using SAF as soon as possible, since it signals their commitment to it.
But now there's demand for SAF and existing UK refineries can produce it, I think it goes to show that VLS' potential is in its new reactor, catalysts and processes. So we're relying on them being proven at commercial scale in order to attract funding and widespread adoption across the industry.
It would be interesting to know what they mean by "sustainable waste sources"!
The quantities they are talking about a quite low.
Plenty of deals going to be announced in this period of evolution. Not enough SAF being developed to go around. VLS are in a good place
Should be some good news coming
