Let Expatbrat speak. i asked him many times about his motives behind his posts here. Is he a good investors samaritan preventing us doing bad investment decisions, or is he roaming trough the forums enlighten people. In any case he leaves no possibility to sepak badly about any news around velocys. Poor guy
Understand what you are saying expat but it really shouldn't be an issue preventing investment if all the elements are tried and tested (and they are) but they have never been incorporated together.
The feed-in materials for each process will be the same as already tested (e.g. raw waste to gasification etc), the temps/conditions will undoubtedly be the same as already tested, I have reservations about VLS but all the elements of the waste-to-fuel process working together isn't really one of them.
Let me break this down a bit. The waste to fuel process, say, has 10 pieces of equipment which make up the entire process. The VLS technology is on of these 10 pieces of equipment.
VLS has demonstrated its own piece, but they have not demonstrated all the 10 pieces together.
It’s like saying a company has designed a great engine (the FT reactor), but nobody has demonstrated the car (AltAlto) into which the engine (FT reactor) will go, but is still expecting an investor to buy the car (AltAlto).
Expact, are you saying that after all the R&D, they have not actually run any tests to see if the technology even works at scale? So whats all this about?

IM. Read my post again before you suggest I’m being nasty or untruthful.
I said the FT system IS proven, but as you know (or maybe don’t) the FT system is one part of the entire waste to fuel process. The entire process has not been proven by Velocys.
ENVIA proved the FT system only (before the unplanned shutdown), albeit on mainly natural gas and a bit of landfill gas - NOT syngas produced from gasified waste.
I would also ask why if this is unproven, Japan major giant invested in this technology and now is moving to roll this out across Japan? What's not unproven here?
Please excuse my rushed typing errors :(
Expat, how is the Velocys FT reactor is proven then, what feed source did they use then?
So ENVIA did not produce product... Expatbrat you are talking rubbish again.. Such a shame to see your nasty and untruthful side again on this BB
Unfortunately, the Velocys waste to fuel process is unproven. Velocys FT reactor is proven, but everything else associated with their proposed process, is not.
This has been, and will continue to be, an issue to attracting additional investment.
20 April 2021: “The reform of the EU Energy Taxation Directive, to be proposed in June, will target tax breaks for fossil fuels and will instead provide incentives for clean energy, officials said Tuesday at a European Commission green taxation seminar”.

Saying goes its worse to be early to a market than late. For a while I wondered if VLS came along too early and the world wasn't yet ready to fully embrace SAF's but certainly in the past few months and particularly post Covid the SAF's sector has exploded.
I believe VLS are actually now perfectly timed for this, they had the tech proven when SAF's were way off being commercially viable and interest was low so now should be the UK leader in terms tech/project advancement and get first-mover benefits. If they cannot succeed now, they never would have quite frankly.
Nowt specific but VLS now commenting upon the new emissions target:
“New UK emissions target includes international aviation for first time…
Altalto, the UK’s first SAF facility being developed by Velocys and British Airways in North East Lincolnshire, is one such example of the innovative projects that will be required to bring about this progress…
Velocys SAF technology, alongside others, will be key to driving down not only UK but also international aviation emissions in the years ahead”

19 April 2021 - “Plan To Fly Into COP26 On "Green Fuel" Planes.
Johnson and other global leaders will be flown into the COP26 climate change conference on “green” flights as part of plans to make the event as carbon neutral as possible.
The travel proposal seen by PoliticsHome has been worked on by Whitehall staff and aviation experts for months and it could form the centre-piece of the Prime Minister’s personal call for greater action on climate change”

Did some dummy sells yesterday and today and it is possible to sell a chunk; someone happy to take them?
I think it will matter to Velocys if we get a mention or some hint of a change of policy for funding...green groups have asked the Chancellor to give detail of how to fund these changes... so lets see what they say........
