Shame that exprat is clogging the board up.
He is filtered and suggest everyone so the same and not engage. Share4 kindly pointed out his previous posts. Not to be trusted. Unfortunately the shares are suiting his trading agenda at the moment.
Yes we're all well acquainted with your opinion exprt as you've made the same post several times day for at least the last 6 months with a brief interlude of telling us the share price will go to 10p.
How about a day off? You can get in a car to go test your eyesight or something.
AB made his investment during the stranded gas era, which VLS was formed for it the first place. He wont be interested in this new developer business.
I know exactly what goes into a grant assessment as I have submitted applicaitons for previous waste to energy projects. There is a significant amount of risk acceptance at this early stage as there is an acknowledgement that projects like this have a high chance of failure early in their lifetime. They are supposed to support projects to enable them to get to a financialiable state, at which point the banks step in and fund it through to completion. The biggest hurdle VLS will face is a lack of smaller scale testing, as this has not been done. The flashy site drawings and small change investors wont impress the banks. Seen it alllll before.
Please read the UKGOV documents on VLS support before commenting any further.
Hope he makes another Billion posts last week included he paid £1.25p for his original shares
and after crashing doubled up at 9p if so that's an average of 67p
Don't think anyone on the board will have a problem with Mr Abramovich getting a quid after
all this time lol
I actually know a fair bit about grants as I'm an accountant in the Higher Education sector. You are under estimating the due diligence that goes into a grant - development/accelerator grants go into the fine details from start to finish of a commercial venture. They don't just chuck a few quid at it & say on your way, as you're implying. From my experience of 100's of accelerator grants I'm very, very positive the ROI will be a very big success.
The number of armchair experts on this board is getting silly. If you care to read up on ANY associated documents related to this project with VLS by the UKGOV you'll see that these are development grants. They are not grants to go toward building the thing, they are merely to help companies carry out early stage activities in the hope that one of these numerous support grants will eventually succeed. This is the same category of funding that BA an Shell have put in.
Project financing will only come once a certain number of technical achievements have been met and its a long and expensive road to get there.
Totally agree H3RO and LB28.
To LB28's point, it would 10 bag it right now precisely because it is undervalued! Even my simple little brain can determine that when considering the risk/reward balance, there isn't merely 1/10 chance the project gets built.
That's without mentioning that VLS also have the US venture and the reactor sales. There is significant value in those ventures, even if Altalto doesn't get built (hard to imagine such a "if"...but if it the UK Government does let this baby slip through its fingers then...well...no words!).
I really don't see financing being an issue. Point number 1 on any substantial project is funding & the return on investment for that funding - If it gets to this stage without the due diligence being done on these points then it would be an absolute farce. Shell/BA/Gov of Transport wouldn't be transferring over £1m+ funds pre-planning if there wasn't a comprehensive financing strategy. Expat stating it's 'punt money' has obviously never worked in a commercial enterprise.
Without wishing to cause upset, which of course means it may cause upset. Genuine poster or not expatbrat has a point, finance is key & finance institutions care only for returns on lending, ethics, environmental benefit, jobs etc will only be considered by any lender for how they influence the economics of the project. This isn't to say the project doesn't have huge potential & given those benefits may realise funding & become successful. Just saying it's worth considering the biggest hurdle in front of us, finance. I was bitten by SXX, they had similar benefits & failed to secure funding, when to average Joe is looked stitched on. For the record I'm in this for the long haul & believe it has a good chance of providing handsome returns. This is a risk game, I'm happy with risk / reward balance here.
It will do all of those amazing things. Unfortunately, it costs 500m quid and will use a process that is totally unproven. No bank or institution will lend on it, regardless of the big names that have put around 1% of the total project value to date. A reality check is needed by many on here.
That said, there will be trading opportunities based on news.
I missed the Ian King slot...please could you be so kind as to summarise?
Thank you!
MrT
Still getting messages from the future ...
company just about to be discussed on sky news - ian king live
Precisely LB28.
Reading between the lines, I think exprat is suggesting that people are selling their shares to use the proceeds to fund the build itself. That is the only explanation that would make any sense to my mind anyway. ;-)
Those who understand the chances of a project like this being fully funded probably!
lb28 so what you mean is that the sells are buys?
It's like watching my soul drain away.
Completely inexplicable. This is such a bloody exciting proposition! Who is selling?!
MMs all over place couple of sells and we are in the red. Couple of buys and nothing happens.
Why share price are you looking at? Have you accidentally googled "VSL"? ;-)
Looking good.
Gosh, you're all so very abusive. I'll continue to post my thoughts as we move through the weeks ahead towards the next funding announcement - if there is one.
