Investing is not a guaranteed way of making money. If you lose some don't start blaming other people. No one is entitled to anything, but fair enough. Good luck with that ??
HONESTLY, mind your business! Good luck
Honestly static you should have a break from these boards. I've seen you posting very negative messages to people and VLS even though you seemed quite upbeat when the share price was higher. I know making losses is horrible but don't take it out on other people. Genuinely recommend having a break because it's stressful.
I guess its Power of Choice to assume ...
But we all know what ass u me does...

"SAMMY18 I HAVE LOOKED INTO URE PREVIOUS POSTS AND U R A PAID 4 TROLL . PLS GO INFEST SOMEWHERE ELSE ."
Hi Whitto, what the f... is this from you?
Hi Sammy,
LIARS know how to turn things and make it seem like it was all your fault
Fact or speculation ? Remember Suez was the original waste supplier at the start of all this.
Viridor will be the MSW provider, a collaborative deal will be announced in good time
Not at all Whitto, I am not Sammy 18,as I live up in Yorkshire and am getting ready for the celebrations in Leeds next Sunday when Leeds Utd will know for certain if they are in the Premiership next season. Like you say Velocys will in time reward us all, like they say, it’s timing in the market and if you are patient you will be rewarded, Many will look back in 5 years time and will be glad they stuck with this share
The issues regarding a waste-to-jet fuel are related to the upstream processes: sorting the MSW to get to the carbon containing materials, the gasification, the tar handling and the syngas cleanup. TRI is handling the gasification, but they do not have experience yet on the Altalto scale. The tar handling will be done by Linde’s Hot Oxygen Burner Technology and the gas cleanup by Air Products. All this was published in the February 3rd press release about Worley as the Altalto engineering partner. Air Products is good company and might be able to handle the MSW syngas. Their experience is related to syngas cleanup to produce energy, not to produce jet fuel. The cleanliness requirements for syngas to be sent over the Velocys catalyst are much stricter. Lastly, Velocys has not yet announced their partner for the MSW sorting. This is a critical step as experienced by Fulcrum. They tackled that first...it looks like Velocys will tackle that last.
HI MAXIMUM R U SAMMY18 ALSO ???
I agree and good comments there. It might take some time though before we see a return. I bought some shares in Eurasia over 15 years ago and only now with a possible takeover are they going to make me a profit. I totally agree with want Whitto said the other day in that I have never seen a share manipulated like Velocys in the last few weeks.
HI ALL .I HAVE A DIFFERENT VIEW / TAKE ON THIS . ALL GOVTS R HAVING TO ADOPT A GREENER ENERGY POLICY FOR THE VOTERS TO KEEP THEM IN POWER .. ALL GOVTS ARE 2 PARTIES COMPETING BUT BOTH R THE SAME WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO SHARING THE PROFITS FROM THE CORPORATE MACHINE THAT FUNDS THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES . . ALL THE TRILLION $ OIL COMPANIES KNOW THIS . THERE R STILL MIN 40 YEARS OF OIL IN THE GROUND WHICH NO 1 IS GOING TO WALK AWAY FROM . SO THE MACHINE HAS TO GO ALONG WITH THE FACADE . A DODGY PUB LANDLORD TOPS UP THE TOP WHISKEY BRAND WITH A SUPERMARKET CHEAPY . THIS IS WHY I THINK VLS WILL B A MASSIVE HIT AND A MASSIVE RETURN TO ALL US LUCKY INVESTORS WHO HAVE BOUGHT IN AT THIS CHEAP PRICE AS THE GOVT / OIL COMPANIES WILL NOT ALLOW THIS TO FAIL .. GLA
Hi Sean. No green aviation fuel is produced from edible crops today. It’s manly waste oils. Look up Neste.
Gasification is proven, using homogeneous feedstock. However using mixed waste is fraught with problems - why pretty much every waste gasification project in the UK has failed, some spectacularly such as the Air Products project in Teesside (which I was involved in, in a former life)
Getting syngas is only half the challenge. You then need to remove all the tars, which can foul the FT system. This is an area with even less running time. I did a piece of work on syngas tars many years ago and the only real way of getting rid of them was using plasma gasification, which is extremely costly to operate. This was for use in reciprocating desiel engines that are less sensitive to tars build up, but still suffer if there’s too much of it.
If Altalto was just a case of knitting together bits of equipment, then every man and his dog would be doing it. It couldn’t be any further from the truth.
Sean don't forget we also have a massive problem of where we put future landfill.
Hi Sean. There’s no evidence of VLS undertaking any such small scale demo on waste feedstock.
Fractional distillation/FCC units, whilst once being lab scale, are simple step processes. What VLS are proposing here is a multi step process, using very different pieces of integrated technology. Your analogy of lab to scale for an FCC can be compared to VLS reactors, but not the whole waste to fuel process.
Agree that there aren’t many ways to decorbise aviation other than green fuels. However, there are many ways to produce green fuels - indeed they are already being produced today, using waste oils.
Sean, I’d say it’s a very good analogy. They really haven’t built anything, or have no experience, as a company, in building such large scale projects. The Oaklahoma project was a demo of their tech only, not the full process., so only the VLS science is sound. The waste to fuel process hasn’t been done and with Fulcrum facing delays, a working example is miles off. Despite the drive from governments, the fact is that a company with no development experience is seeking £500m to build a project that has never been built by anyone before. They really need to build at least one house to prove their mettle (and the process) before embarking on the housing estate.
In my opinion Loosley, it’s got a lot to do with the fact that VLS is a technology coming and not a development company. Lots of experience with designing and producing a product , but zero developing large scale projects. Imagine a company that has been making nice bricks for 15 years, suddenly wants to build large scale housing development, without ever having built a wall. This is probably why they are struggling to attract development partners in my opinion.
Good discussion. I agree with both of you. But why is it so difficult to find investors who want to fund Velocys' projects. The 2018 Annual Report mentions "The Natchez, MS Biorefinery project completed planning, permitting and pre-FEED engineering successfully and is currently under due diligence by strategic partners...(p6)" So they have been trying for over 2 years without success. The Altalto project is not yet at this stage yet because permitting is not achieved yet, nor is the pre-FEED finished.
Valid points Sean. It might be a drop in the ocean, but any investment still needs to be justified and protected to the maximum possible extent to ensure shareholders remain happy. VLS will need to do some convincing to get this half billion. They’ve not managed to do this with Mississippi as yet...
Sean, there is no such UK mandate for sustainable jet fuel. There is a carbon tax that comes into force that may provide an incentive to use biofuels, how there is no mandate.
In my opinion, and to ref. Thurgs comment earlier, I just don’t think financing will be forthcoming. It’s too much, too soon in VLS’s new career as a project developer and the banks will pick up on this. However, to balance that argument, there is a LOT of momentum to lower the carbon footprint of aircraft that there might be enough appetite to move this forward.
Does anyone know when the Altalto will start ?
How will Velocys fund Altalto ?
I have not seen a share i have been invested in b4 which has been totally destroyed and manipulated as to the sp as this 1 . it has been totally fraudulent and disgusting what the mms and the establishment are allowed to get away with .. however i took my 3k shares 5p amount at £140 and will carry on buying at this cheap price . dyor
