No problem.
My apologies coastliner
Bowlers, my post about bs wasn't aimed at you and I don't think Vela is great at all at the moment. It's been very disappointing to see where the SP is now however as I've previously mentioned, I'm in til I see a return no matter how long it takes. Good luck to you.
Coastlines if you feel this company is fine great but most of us feel they could not organise a **** up in a brewery perhaps you should try safe companies like pepsi or inilever which can be profitable and with company boards who know what they are doing
Bowlers, it's never nice to hear about people talking losses and there are alot of genuine people on here no matter what they do. I hate BS and especially condescending and patronizing posts from people who claim to know better.
I am retired coastlines and am quite happy to email the shocking vela board to let them know what their shareholders thing of them
Be thankful though Castliner you do not hold many thousands of shares in Finablr There board is more of a joke than Vela I will be losing probably 2 and a half grand on them in march when they are wound up
LOLLOLOL. Im getting stroppy says the person who only replies to my posts in a trolling manner, accusing me of being some guy called Tom.
What is wrong with you flipping burgers in macdonalds Omnici
You speak very eloquently, surely you can get a better job with your good take on English language
Vela are a joke and I look forward to being able to sell my 4 million shares
Tom, my investment here is 10 million shares. Like most people here I'm down however I'm not over exposed and have more inportant things going on in my life than to worry about what the board are upto. You on the other hand have suddenly becoming very vocal during trading hrs about Vela so clearly have either too much time on your hands or some agenda?. No need to get stroppy when I was merely saying you could be our shareholders spokesperson.
You appear to have trouble reading Coastliner. I haven't had a response from the company, despite several emails sent to them. SP down again, but I guess in your world of unicorns and candy floss you regard this as great performance from our BOD.
Toffee/Tom, I'm sure everyone here will look forward to you posting your responses from the company.
I have contacted the company on several occasions with no reply. Why don't you concentrate on the performance of the sp, the lack of communication regarding our biggest investment and the seemingly out of touch response from the BOD.
Toffeman, you're very good at telling us all what should happen plus all your conspiracy theories. Why don't you contact Vela direct and put your concerns in an email?. As you've mentioned before, keeping quiet won't change anything so as you're now retired, you could be our bb spokesperson.
Yep, no probs. Just think it bears repeating that what some may take as negative or deramping is actually designed to have a positive outcome. Its a matter of opinion on the consolidation, I personally believe they would have dropped it another 10% if we had opened today at 1.7, so Im glad that was voted down, but I think we can all agree that if this shot across the boughs motivates better (or any) communication, its been worth it.
Sorry was responding to Ian
Obviously no point getting rid of the entire BOD, nothing left if that happened ( though some would argue that if we had not done the SGS deal or anything else since we would be in a better position than we are now). The point is that they must feel the pressure of accountability. Some pretty big examples going on at the moment of folk thinking they can get away with anything.
When you say you want to oust the BoD what do you mean?? Remember there are only a few people in the company…. I certainly don’t want to oust anyone I want JN to give us a statement to what is going on. Currently we only have a few people
On the payroll… JN, Brent, Emma and think one other (chairman), Think we need clear definition of roles. JN is obviously the brains behind the investment strategy… not sure what Brent does. Potential research. But I certainly don’t want to oust the BoD… but what we have done re the consolidation (I voted for)… this has made them sit up and listen to what we have to say. The lack of comms is dire. Have msg’d to see if there could be a Q and A session for shareholders and the BoD albeit think will be a bloodbath atm due to the general feeling. Who knows we could get some response.
problem is experience shows that, generally, the first response to a vote for an egm is the company in question will blow tens of thousands on solicitors to find reasons not to do it. Can actually remember one where the address had one letter wrong. It was delivered but not accepted by the BOD. Much as I hate to say it given the diabolical performance of the current BOD they now need to be given a few months to show they are getting their act together.
Anyone on here know how to get the ball rolling for an EGM, let's oust them Asap. Atb.
Well 7% of all shares in issue voted against the BOD central business plan to consolidate. Even taking into account general apathy of only 14% of issued shares voting this still means there are enough there to call an EGM. With the voting to re-elect basically passed on a Gnat's whisker the BOD must feel VERY vulnerable at the. moment.
It remains to be seen if they have actually been woken up THGambler, they will actually have to start engaging with shareholders first (after their advisors have told them the bleeding obvious). I'm with Topprize in thinking that consolidation is a good idea but not now whilst we are trading at rock bottom. There are positives to be had, cash balance was slightly better than I thought, the EnSilica deal looks really good to me and I imagine that Ariestech will also IPO during H1 which I feel will do well. Any SGCS deal will have to be looked at as a lovely bonus now if it comes, personally I've written it off in my mind for now, but it could be a sleeping giant even for another novel respiritory disease in the future, who knows? VELA has certainly become a long term play (it was for me already), I'm still confident of a decent return over the next 5 years.
Yes they have been woken up! No thanks to the 'shares can go up as well as down' brigade who are happy to watch their investments half. Annoyingly these sort of people will reap the rewards of the folk who actually try to do something and voted. For clarity I voted against the directors but for consolidation.
Yep, Investing.com has changed the opening price to 1.7 and currently 97% down. I reckon this rejection of the consolidation has really woken them up. Looking more positive now if that's possible at this sp.
Yes there has been a lot of presumption the consolidation would be voted through.
97% down must be a mistake !!!
