Sorry, i maid a mistake,
0.014 is my buy in,
and it will get there.
massive sell.
Should start moving after the 14th
Seems to be recovering - would be great to see it have a strong end to the week (which is more than can be said for Vela - back to .015, unbelievable!)
Intrest ,needs to close above 8ema
0.14.
sat on fence, wont be long know.
Ensi probably will fly. Problem is how many have we got left. Our clowns have probably sold our holding when it was early 30s.
It could well do, time will tell
This XYZ fella is not as funny....
Take responsibility for your investment or investments, you are talking this share down yet again are you that much under water? Or is your end game, probably so in my opinion sell or buy, take the hit and move on
Dunno, I could have sworn a few posts were removed a couple of days ago but I don't recall there being anything controversial on there. We know they have done in the past though and seem to be quite thin-skinned to criticism. Let's face it they've probably not got a great deal else to do nowadays. Or maybe they're working on some masterplan that's yet to be revealed.... perhaps not.
Agreed, there is no requirement or incentive for the Directors to change their course of action. Monthly fees will continue to be paid out regardless of SP or performance as long as there are portfolio shares to sell off to fund it. Come on Mr Cooke, please intervene!
Completely agree Bouncer, although you have to factor in the number of mistakes the BoD have made and continue to make. They could have sold some CDT shares to cover costs but decided to gamble and that hasn't paid off as they will be selling other shares at a loss to cover overheads now.
The website is not up to date and around a year out of date. The quarterly reports are often 2-3 months after the quarter end which could be forgiven if our BoD were hard at work, but as mentioned we haven't had to invested in a new company for 9 months and we have no cash to invest anyway, so what exactly are the 3 directors doing to earn their cash?!
Such a frustrating share because if it was run correctly the outlook would look so much better.
This board is so quiet when the sp falls as it continues to do...I only hope the Hemo company board members are keeping warm with their wages...probably burning our pound notes to keep a fire going.
Bonkers really. If you hadn't checked in here in the last 6 months you'd be forgiven for thinking that nothing had happened at all, no RNS's or new investment, or that Vela hadn't finalised a potentially very lucrative deal with the original SGSC investment. At worst even at the present CDT sp they've recovered the money... and yet the Vela sp is exactly where it was before any of this happened, in fact it hit .0155 earlier which is ridiculous but true. I know none of this is new information it's just baffling - or an illustration, once again, that if you don't keep the market updated then sentiment evaporates with inevitable consequences.
I sincerely hope that now they have the means to do it the Board are working on something to ignite some interest here. Otherwise it'll just be dull dull dull with no news expected to perk things up and even the resident optimists must be wondering what the hell is going on
Investments other than CDT, even with the recent fall of CDT, represent just of 50% of NAV, and some of that is real @!$* so the remainder really has to motor to have any impact.
Looking at CDT trading today, the thing that really stands out is the way that volumes have completely dried up. It's mid-afternoon in New York and just over 2,000 shares have been traded. Even if Vela wanted to sell, they couldn't at anywhere near the current CDT price, because there are literally no buyers, let alone for 1m shares, and selling just a few would just alert the market to a big seller.
Completely agree Jim. they have no skin in the game so why would they care what the SP does, as long as they still have investments they can sell to pay themselves they will keep it going. Laiker had skin in the game then proceeded to be able to offload all his holding at a premium to the SP at the time. It feels corrupt!
I think Chris Cooke believed he was buying a stock at a huge discount to NAV, but as CDT falls so the discount is ever narrowing, and the chances of anyone seeing the company as something that is worth doing anything with are diminishing...
I will say it again. Brent and JN do not care. They will sell whatever too ensure there is enough in the bank too cover their wages. They are not interested in increasing shareholder value as they do not hold any shares. Vela is just a pension top up for them. Sacking them is the best thing that could happen too Vela and has been for some time.
With CDT performing so poorly the tangible NAV is somewhere around 0.03p, versus over 0.04p were the CDT price to be back above $5. The problem that the Vela management face is that they need to realise CDT to allow them to invest elsewhere (and to cover running costs) but realising at this price just crystallises a big loss on their investment against where it was when they exercised the option. If they don't get on and realise the investment then they run out of money (or have to realise other assets and become more dependent on CDT), but if they do realise CDT it just locks in terrible decision making.
The problem with CDT is that now it is less than $200m market cap it is a tiny UK-based company listed in the US that no one has to own. Why would any US institutional shareholder jump into an unproven foreign entity, when a lot of the US life sciences sector trades at a discount to cash on its balance sheet?
It's a disaster of the Vela management's own making.
What did they announce. All I can see is the pre market price of 2.66, down 6%.
Hear hear!
I must say even by Vela's standards the performance so far this year has been utterly useless. At .03 I'll be out of here too
A little run on CDT back too $5 could see our SP back up to 0.03p. Much closer too my sell our price and finally putting me out my vela misery.
Sorry…Mti wireless and Ensilica nowhere near year highs…but much improved recently !
Ensilica, Skilcast, Mti wireless and cornerstone all on a good run and near year highs on all of them
A little strength ,green candle after 6 weeks of falls c@ support ,indication of V would be nice close above 0.0185 be a start
