the mysterious mr cooke at it again huh? either he knows something we don't and sees some proper value at these levels or he's a madman with deep pockets. either way i wonder if the board ever squirm a little when they release these holdings rns's and remember that they don't own a single share between them?
just had a browse on the allenby capital website where our newly £50k better off advisors are based, interesting list of clients including some very familiar names https://www.allenbycapital.com/our-clients/ not that his means anything they're all just aim companies, i just thought i'd mention it now that we've been knocked back to friday's discussions due to joe's massive weekend ******. wonder what his next incarnation will be?
CC continuing to buy. Hopefully allays fears that this was attached to the failed talks?
personally i've got stuck in a pump and dump in this share :p but be patient, i personally think holding all the cdt shares was a good move. its still a **** show but at a heavy discount. if cdt goes 7 or 8 dollars we are laughing, but i won't be sticking around after that if it does happen. good luck all, enjoy the ride.
Why is it ok for Advisors to be paid in shares but not Directors?
Enjoy the weekend break from shares all you serious investors, all you manic moaners and even the trolls who have turned up. GLA.
So, £50,000 has been spent talking to Advisors about a £15m potential investment, but the person didn't have the funding to proceed. Forgive me, is that not the first question you ask?
I will be buying the reversal ...
You have a Inherited Metabolic Disorder? Are you drunk?
Why are you here?
Still here but there is more important thing in life then watching this company being run into the ground. Terrible RNS as we knew it would be. Continually selling existing investments at losses to pay for the terrible board to run this company down. CDT remains the only hope.
Look forward to the issuing of new shares to pay for the £50k they spent on advisors. Remind me what we are paying the BoD for again?
Hmmmmmmm
hands up who thought shortly after the CDT option was taken up and several million $ added to the company value we'd be hitting the all time low?
Think I’m at 5 years now and yes it’s uncomfortable but as you say the enterprise value increases and SP declines making it a great ‘value’ play for big investors.
Ha! Boom Boom!
Investment discussions started in May 23. Mr Cooke entered the scene with a TR1 in June.
Coincidence, what is his next move?
Not the best of updates, better off selling and recouping losses elsewhere
Plenty here have been waiting for 4 or 5 years, in some cases more, how much patience does it take? In that time we've only seen the sp dwindle away steadily whilst perversely the value of investments goes up. I wonder what could be the cause of that mismatch?
We all knew the accounting practice involved in valuing the CDT holding was going to hit this update so no one should be surprised. Especially those taking a daily interest in CDT.
The small number of share sales in other investments are quite insignificant and the fact the board got close to a massive cash injection is to be welcomed.
CDT may well come good and possibly in a big way.
Other big investors may see the business as a possible good value route into the disruptive market sectors.
I’m happy to sit tight and see this as a medium term investment. One for serious holders not for day traders or roulette wheel officionados. Good luck to all patient investors.
Maybe they're at work.
Well this is not what I was hoping to see. The only thing the market is going to back when it comes do Vela is seeing some £ banked from CDT. In fact I wish they'd just sell everything and start again.
We know there's no money available for new investments and it appears $7 isn't a high enough sp for them to want to part with any of the CDT shares so this is now effectively in limbo unless CDT goes nuts. Well done board, what fabulous shareholder value you're providing.
As for £15mil quid raises for a 'transformative' move in to the life sciences sector is that what JN suddenly is, an expert in that area? How can they even entertain that (and in the process rack up a £50k bill) when they're flogging anything they can to just keep them in tea and biscuits?
Miserable, boring vela.
You could have bought double the shares at this level ,a pot.de risking exercise?
Why didnt u?
Also, a cost of £50k when money is tight for something that has not even happened. Whoever it was that was investing £15 million. Why would they trust JN and BF with that amount with their track record.
For all you die hard funda experts ,what was the invest, value on 21/7/23 ?
I think we knew it would be bad …just not the bit about failing to secure the funding boost which might have been transformational.
Things have picked up on many investments recently so next update should be better although I doubt there will be much interest in the short term . I think this could retrace to around 0.01p which would be a steal relative to value
Exactly as expected. There is only one plan here. Keep selling the other investments too pay their wages and prey that CDT comes good.
Continued sell off from existing portfolio to pay Director Fees.
What sort of dilution would £15m capital raise mean?
