Yazo: In the PH interview he did mention that announcements about commercialisation of graphene via the Paragraf JDP might be made in the next few months, so maybe you are right. Talking with various people connected to VDTK I get the impression that their focus for the next few years will be on Gen 1 SPVs and that GISPVs are a much longer term project. Who knows. Things change quickly. The 50/50 J/V with Paragraf is certainly a huge asset for VDTK and the market is currently not placing any value on it. As far as BBR Filtration and Westec are concerned, I haven't looked at them in any depth so can't really comment on what their shareholder value could be.
@Catwith9lives, We do not know how close/ready they are to commercialise Graphene-ISPV. It's been 14 months since RNS to confirm it works and they are looking at ways to develop commercially.Let's not speculate too much, news could land in the next week, month or year.
A quick google search of "flexible SPV" shows you how increasingly crowded the market is getting, it seems logical the time to double-down on their Unique Selling Points and signal they are in another league is now. Measurable superior quality establishes the brand and team's competence, followed by lots of orders.
I'd guess they have an ASAP approach to getting this out :-). As for timing, it's finger in the air until RNS.
What are your timing guesses based on?
Most don't realise VDTK is also heavily invested in two other Cleantech companies, another reason not to be on the sidelines too long on this one.
*Does sound dramatic.
Hate working from a mobile phone. Fat finger and predictive text can make you look very illiterate and a right plonker.
I think the focus will be on Gen 1 SPVs for the next couple of years. Even if there is an announcement in the next six months about commercialising GISPVs with Paragraf I personally don't think production will start until 2023 or later. Target markets imo likely to be laptop PCs, phones and EVs (10% of auto sales in 2025). Its a l-t opportunity for VDTK but in the medium term I think the investment case hinges on Gen 1 SPVs.

Not forgetting the increased efficiency which is likely to be above 25%.
Doesn't skund dramatic but 3% over current PV efficiency is considerable. However, 30 to 40% efficiency has been quoted.
Really looking forward to an update on this as it has the potential to be truly transformational.
Interesting to note the PoC success in JV with Paragraf was announced over a year ago. Likely still in R&D final touches, SP impact when news of commercialisation land should be interesting!. Lightweight/wafer thin/ high flex --> The high versatility may lead to a whole new level of fluidity in applications. A potential Roof-killer as you'd roll a carpet-like spv anywhere there is sunlight, or hang it like a curtains or even eventually carry it in a backpack. The potential interest in extremely portable high-performance SPVs cannot be overstated.
"Paragraf's proprietary manufacturing process of large scale, high quality, graphene has been applied to Verditek's solar technology and the partners are pleased to announce the successful completion of their first development project. The program has developed unique methodologies to successfully produce graphene on photovoltaic Proof of Concept (PoC) cells, to harness the superior electrical and mechanical properties that graphene can impart. THE REVOLUTIONARY CELL WORKS WITHOUT THE ENCUMBRANCE OF METALLIC BUSBARS OR BACKPLATES REQUIRED IN CONVENTIONAL PV CELLS.. .."
