On your post- seems a lost cause. Any grounds for optimism? Any?

That’s an excellent contribution.
It shows the quality of ideas and contributors on this BB - many who have suffered in silence for too long.
Come on let’s here it from those who haven’t yet contributed their ideas.
We need your help.
Funding has always been an issue with VAL. The real problem is that VAL launched as a PLC with some promising compounds but simply years and years away from the point where it would be possible to tell if there was the slightest chance of the compounds being effective, let alone commercial. I think it is fair to say that cancer treatment has moved on and changed significant since VAL became a PLC and it hard to get away from the simple fact that over the years since they took investors money no new compounds have been added and there are no succession formulas to follow on from the current crop. VAL is in essence a 'one trick pony' the related compounds under various stages of development are its only potential source of revenue.
I have learnt a great deal about funding of small pharma as I have watched VAL over the year. The biggest lesson was the underestimation of the scale of the funding required to get to where we are now and all the time this is ongoing, the very real and more likely than not total failure of the whole process due to commercial non viability.
As I have said in earlier posts, VAL was disingenuous with the original launch as a PLC because they would have unquestionably know the initial IPO funds would be hopelessly insufficient to make any meaningful progress towards commercial success. Commercial success and a return on capital employed is a key responsibility for senior management who are responsible for looking after shareholders interest.
The fact that senior management are so closely linked with the research and day to day running of the business is the reason we are where we are today. Independent management looking after shareholders interest would have concluded years ago that the ongoing financing of the research could not be achieved without wiping out the original shareholder investment. Why do you think the BOD have never invested because they knew and have done all the time that they would be flushing their money away. This is the clearest evidence we have that they may have believed in the product but not the funding model and that they were happy for others to share the pain of losing all but not prepared to share in it!
VAL is dead, it wont be here in 2 months time, maybe sooner, who knows. What is almost certain is that having never been able to gain a partner to share development costs that there situation is now worse than at anytime before if they are currently trying to fine a partner now.
There will be no partner unless it is through a pre pack wiping out existing shareholders. We have all lost everything if we continue to hold. My now worthless holding is not worth selling but others should consider saving something because there simply cannot be a happy ending here.

Dracula1- you made a very informative and well written post a while ago. It highlighted some of the positives and why we are still awaiting the news we expected.
I hope you will forgive me by asking you to advise on how we should go forward to preserve and defend Your and Our Company. You appear from your posts to be an intelligent and astute person. Fred, ValJu and the Action Team would appreciate ideas. Look we’re all in this together. There are NO Institutional Investors. This is your company. If it fails it fails for all. All the best.
SLI, With the greatest respect. I was Mega Positive about this Co until after a few years we appeared to be Running on the Spot Forever. I don't get any gratification In Venting my anger on the Way this Co Has been Managed. One Simple thing on the way this Management treat the SHs In this Co . IS the Firesale Placings. Just Imagine In having to Fund the Co by such Placings, and then To Rub SHs Faces In IT by taking Bonuses/Benefits etc. Feel free to correct me. IMO.
