I am going out on a limb and I am not a bio-scientist by any means. I haven't fully looked into the COVID/VAL201 link, but I believe the theory is something like: For androgen-related cancers like the prostate, there is a hormonal growth cell mechanism that gets stuck in a "fast growth" cell replication stage. VAL201 works by effectively putting a 3D protein "spoke in the wheels" that prevents this phase of cell replication occurring (or severely limits it, depending on a whole heap of complex 3D genetic/chemical interactions).
I assume a similar SRC-kinase pathway is used to limit the growth of COVID in a similar manner. But I could be significantly in error!
When this puppy moves she moves fast news maybe sooner than we thought
Should of said seconds.
Herds arrived folks.
Be quick 10p offer in the next few mins.
we know how quickly this moves, and when it moves it moves big. It took 3 days to get from 6p to 24p before the hand breaks were put on not long ago. With a £4m mkt cap, I expect a minimum 5 bagger on this in the next few months. 10 would be preferable though, and £40m mkt cap is not exactly high if they come back with great results in September.
10 p this week would be a nice start
Sept is moving closer this will be creeping up imo then BOOOOOM
there I said it
Quack quack Minni
Top gainers board for sure today, the herd my be coming.
Could be some biggish trades show after 9 i think. GLA.
All day today RB - the ducks are all in a row !
Morning all.
Blue sky’s and a blue Val happy days.
Mr Big. Thanks. Still goes above my head. But thanks anyway.
BM if you want intelligent, that won't be me.
Val's website states that we are targeting people who are recovering from covid and preventing any further damage caused by the immune system going into overdrive. I like this, because this way we are, afaik, not competing with the likes of sng (early prevention) or dex (last resort), who are well ahead of us. It's nice to be in our own niche.
The tiny bit of research I've done to check that val's not selling covid-flavoured snake oil took me to this paper on MERS:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6024778/
It suggests (to my amateur eye with zero medical background) that VAL201 might have potential as an early treatment as well, but from what I see on VAL website, this is not the avenue the the VAL team are taking. Nevertheless, it is good to know that we have potential. At the end of the day, considering the scale of the covid problem, there should be a piece of the pie for everyone.
£4m mcap is a bit of a joke.
beyond my level of understanding tbh. Maybe someone more intelligent in the world of bio tech can explain as it would be interesting.
Layman's terms please.
Anyone ?
Can anyone confirm how we are using BC201 to fight covid? If I understand correctly, the website suggests BC is to treat the aftermath of the covid infection (i.e. you got hit hard by covid, survived, now need to stop your body destroying itself).
However, looking at how similar meds were used in MERS outbreak, there was evidence that they actually prevent the virus from multiplying inside you? Can't find the paper now, but it's out there if you google it.
Also potential with BC201 where VAL201 is being used in with other drugs in the fight against COVID19. Although not a vaccine it would still be a useful way to suppress the effects of the virus.
So not only do VAL have a number of cancer treatments they also have a JV COVID19 treatment being researched. This is the same as many at present where many COVID treatments are still only being trialled. Difference being the market only values VAL at £4m
With updates on 201 (Data) due September and hopefully positive reports from the Japanese on 301 soon ish,
surely a big re rate coming ?
