SS spotted!!! So he does still exist then, who would have thought it? He's said more in the Loxley appeal and today in the IoW planning session than he has said to investors in 5 years!
Lol those complaints are BS - the area for development is small, outside of the conversation area and there is absolutely nothing there!
It's live now, they were late. Link above
It is live on mine
Is it just me or no sound coming from the TEAMS call at the moment?

Looks like Councillor Suzie Ellis the Arreton Councillor will be giving a speech.
SS has signed in early
If they say "No" (likely imo) there will probably be a negative reaction to the SP.
But it's mostly irrelevant now and I believe most will have already priced that in since the Loxley fiasco and the Wight residents started bleating.
So I don't think it would be too negative.
Purely my personal guess but maybe back down to 0.12p from its' current level, 0.1p at a push.
Feel like there's a bit of panic selling going on before this IOW committee verdict. If they say no, it doesn't really change anything and we've got Loxley to come in the UK.
If you like some data and maps, then take a look at this site, very useful, love the maps:
https://www.energydashboard.co.uk/live
https://www.energydashboard.co.uk/map
p.s. at Arreton there is a Solar Photovoltaics (10.6MW) and Anaerobic Digestion (2.2 MW) facilities. But you can go ahead and check the whole of the UK, and see what's being produced where.
Gents,
FWIW, HM Govts own estimate of UK Gas consumption shows it remaining flat out to at least 2035.
Similarly, in the same time frame it shows UK Oil consumption falling by less than 10%.
In the meantime, World coal prices have reached a record high, Germany produced more power from Coal (mainly Lignite) than wind in H1 2021 and any reduction in CO2 emissions by the UK will amount to little more than a rounding error when the emissions of the likes of China, India and the USA are taken into account.
That's good then, so he doesn't even have a vote to give tomorrow.

Jonathan Bacon is the council’s cabinet member for the environment as far as I know he is not on the planning committee, but was previously the leader of the council.
Cllr Bacon has clearly made up his mind BEFORE the committee meeting in his press release and in the newspaper. However I believe he is still an independent with one supporting councillor , it’s not clear how the others think.
It is inappropriate as a councillor, to take to the newspaper before a committee meeting. It might be that he is showboating to try and get elected,
If he had wide support in the committee he would be ringing round checking others views? Not taking to the newspaper
Exactly Ninetails. It's alright going net carbon but its inevitably going to be a gradual transition. In the interim, some people seem to forget you've got a planet with 8 billion to provide energy for!
In other news, I like how Ocelot always puts "buy" haha.
If not decades!
De carbonised what a joke, oil will be needed for years to come
just googled the population of the Isle of Wight: 141,606 (2019).
This will be an automatic refusal as reflected in the sp today, the world has gone mad, the greens and the net carbon emissions have taken over...
Cynderlad -
think that's a great post you've written earlier. A genuine understanding into how these guys think and the reality of the situation when they are put under pressure to make a decision. But we will see what tomorrow brings. And lets be honest - Counsellor Bacon looks like a right smug git. His expression reminds me of someone that drives a Hybrid off South Park. See "SMUG ALERT" episode for more details. If the IOW planners have recommended Arreton approval on the basis of an initial 3 year contract, I don't see why people can't just be pragmatic in the context of UK energy requirements. There are serious global initiatives in place to tackle global warming, which this would have zero impact on. Moreover, Outstanding Areas of Natural Beauty that some of these snowflakes have mentioned in island complaints are heavily conserved and protected. UKOG are not going to affect them. Also lets face it, there's sod all to do in Arreton - probs got a couple of decent pubs that would come in handy during this relatively small scale exploration and for any of the weirdos on twitter. How Ironic?
Johnathon Bacon is the Chairman of the ANOB with all his personal objections.
The ANOB Partnership itself has made no objection to the application as a statutory consultee!
Personal or Professional choices?
Cllr Bacon was speaking after the delivery of a petition, signed by 4,400 people, opposing the UKOG application.
The campaign group, Don’t Drill The Wight, said there had also been more than 3,000 formal objections to the council, including those from the local MP, six parish councils and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. A rally is planned for tomorrow afternoon, before the start of the planning meeting.
There have been no objections to the application from the council’s environmental health team, ecology officer and AONB Partnership. The Environment Agency, Health and Safety Executive and Southern Water did not object. Natural England and Historic England made no comments.
Cllr Bacon, who is not a member of the planning committee, said today:
“The strength of public feeling against the proposal before the Planning Committee on Tuesday is clear, both in the number of objections received and the recently delivered petition signed by 4,410 residents.
“It is plain to anyone who recognises what is most important about our Island and who appreciates its natural beauty and fragile geology, that drilling for outdated fossil fuel sources is wrong. However, as with all planning applications, the decision needs to be based on Policy.”
He said planners could not be criticised for referring in their report to government statements that fossil fuels would remain important during the transition to greener energy.
..................................
I wander how strong the local feeling would be if there was no fuels or power supplied to the island from the mainland in future, all industries halted and the lights were turned off?
No objections from those that understand the realities and can balance the decision making process.
There are those who can not or will not be seen to oppose the public pressure as it may well change the lives or livelihoods.
National opinion, Meeting net zero through less imported emissions is of little consequence here. Just not in there back yard with the preference of it being in someone else's.
Cheers
