Crude Oil – “Price War”; Meaningless compared to demand crash!
by Kevin Galvin
Global oil producers are scrambling to secure a supply cut deal to counter an unprecedented drop in demand triggered by the coronavirus pandemic. A deal between OPEC and other producers like Russia makes little difference because of the severity of the drop in demand. Market analysis expects to see a demand drop of ~25 to 35 million barrels per day in April.Lower prices will filter through into reduced output much faster than normal, as the industry slashes new well drilling and completions and is forced to choke back or shutoff existing wells. Unless the world economy emerges from the coronavirus-induced shutdown quickly, oil prices will fall further, forcing the rebalancing of production to match lower consumption.
Uggy100 Agreed If other non OPEC countries agree to cut some output as well we will still have a surplus estimated at 15mln bpd it may have some impact but not i would have thought a big one.
Nowhere near a big enough cut I'm afraid.
Maybe but it shows that it is not all down to oil or the way we live it is a cycle that will keep evolving in the 1700’s north Devon was wiped out lives lost and the engine was not invented then they would probably say the cows done it, but then all greenies will come up with the wildest things However the good thing is this is moving nicely over last 5 days upwards and onwards to dizzy heights.
I think so just cannot stand them that blame the oil and the way we live there is a cycle and you can make it look good if you like fiddling with numbers.
But on the bright side there has been a nice little steady advance here over last 5 days may it continue onwards and upwards slowly of course and news will appear to steady the movement upwards always living in hope ha ha

Are you posting on the right BB ? lol
Maybe one too Many but now if it gets too cold in the artic we get a bigger hole I think they should make there mind up do they want it cold or Warm that is the 64 thousand dollar question see below cut and paste.
The report, however, says that temperatures in the Arctic stratosphere went low enough for several months at the beginning of this year to allow for the formation of PSCs, which resulted in large ozone losses. You could not make this Up
Either Brahms or powdered....good to see others were bemused too..
The hole is over the Arctic not the Antarctic, big difference, but reads like you are a bit too Brahms to make sense of it all anyway. Take care.
Ozone layer ????
That sounds incredibly interesting Gwynwin, I just wish I could understand it.
Sounds a bit like green trap stuff but I see the hole is bigger over the pole and less use all over the world so not the normal, or the greens are just another load of quacks like the so called blubbers on the tele.
Yes Banished, the only nation who's likely to screw up a large production cut is the U.S. imo.
i just read that Russians agreed to cut oil production by 14% if The Number 1 oil maker (USA) cuts it's appetite too and forces their friends - Canada and Brazil to do the same.
so, it's all down to The Exceptional Nation now.
Slowly creeping up new later this year as long as Putin does not get his way trying to stop fracking in the states the Middle East tried that two years ago and they lost out on revenue I think the Ruskies will have the same problems.
