Agree. UFO well diversified with all HOT commodities (not one, but few) ready to move up the value curve.
Better to get in when stock is bit unloved or you end up paying lot higher.
I am pretty sure we will see the previous 3p plus in coming weeks & months. Cannot put exact time frame on that but all the Hallmarks of a substantial re-rate are finally getting in place.
"However if you are looking for a junior minerals explorer with a diverse portfolio of projects to move up the value curve then I'd argue there is no better on AIM." You go it in one here. Interested in adding to LT highly specualtive. For the moment building my research. Nice to have people pointing out to the key info before dwelving in nitty gritty details.
Good Lawd, Max (13:52). You might (*might*) be on the verge of ramping there.
Long way to go yet (as HH "umbrellas"), but I think what you describe is actually a likely journey over the next few years.
As ever, I play the negative (lower quartile)side of any valuation for UFO in which case:
80M tons. At £150 per ton. And only 20% on the JV. Equals £2.4Bn. At 20 year production = £120M per year. Minimum.
Just on the iron.
If today's creeping blue sustains despite the sh**storm going on everywhere else, then it's looking like break-out territory.
MrP - I think at times AIM is too forward looking and sentiment driven for its own good, that's what leads to price drops when news doesn't arrive quickly enough to support all that forward looking sentiment that created the sudden and unexpected moves that came from nowhere.
After the last big drop from 3p there is a sense that some positive sentiment is returning to UFO at the moment, however I'd prefer it if hard facts drove the sentiment, rather than the sentiment pre-empting actual supportive facts.
Happy is very relaxed lives beside the sea walking his wee dog - happy days coming
Happy.
market is forward looking and discount events early. Little bit of momentum back in UFO and we should be on our way. Happy to wait. AIM market is unpredictable and moves sometimes come out of no where.
Agree Mr.P, nice to have you back here - I feel commodities are the best place to be (especially juniors) over the next decade potentially. All producers have massively profited off the back of these prices, so where do they bury their profits to reduce tax liabilties? Only makes sense to start moving money into prospects to secure future supply chains.
as Mr.P said, China are hunting for prospects and buying them at premiums to secure their share, how long until the US decide to start competing to ensure they aren't reliant on China - the UK and US are already looking at rare earth metals where China are dominant (look at Mkango Resources share price over the last year, I don't have them but wish I had bought them).
Increasingly green agenda being pushed by Biden with trillions to spend, the wins simply don't stop in this sector (in my opinion). Only a matter of time before some love returns to all miners and explorers, especially small caps.
Around 2p would be a start before all the super news flow - i see 11p
This is probably the last chance to buy under 1.25p the price in which non-exec Mark Culbert bought 5million shares!
macro economic factors are clearly supportive of stocks like UFO in the longer term, but as I've said before, whilst others are predicting action here much sooner, I'm still expecting it to be the second half of the year before we see any real activity with UFO, and even then it may not be the instant fireworks some expect.
However we all know what one good bit of news "could" do for the SP and there is the potential for many bits of good news to drop in the coming months. Equally until any news does arrive it would be reckless to count on it being good enough to support rising sentiment.
Don’t forget non exec Mark Culbert purchased 5,000,000 shares at 1.25p
Such a good sign to me
:-)
When we get over 2p and it settles up a bit over 5p easy thats better then a big spike up to 7p
Max - great recap and good catch for me TBH.
HH, EWT and others. Excellent posts.
What a difference one year makes. Commodity prices just a year ago and now...lot of big investors now rotating out of very richly valued Tech stocks into commodities now to gain maximum Upside from both Green / clean energy policies globally and post COVID economic expansion now spurred by the $$$$ trillions of stimulus.
Double whammy here. Share price here over last 6-12 months has clearly lagged behind others. That about to change. I would expect market to play bit of catch up here.
I forgot to add in my calculation the increase in Iron Ore price that Turner Pope are looking to add.
Previously TP were valuing our Iron Ore in the ground at £8/t - 80% discount factor = just £1.6/tonne!!
When become a DSO producer, the upside is just incredible!
If the resource is big (as i expect here)...then partners will come.
Much easier and quicker for bigger players to simply take over the project starting with first shot as JV partner before Buy out.
Chinese on the look out and taking over projects to secure key commodities supply to feed their next decade economic Boom that is now underway. So good time to take a position here imo.
@eatstocks - UFO is a company with excellent long term prospects which many believe in (myself included). Many of those excellent prospect may even be delivered in a more medium time frame. However as might be expected with a volatile AIM listed share, prices can move much more on sentiment than actual facts.
Whilst I might not be one to willfully rain on other people's parade, if I may extend the metaphor I am one to advocate the usefulness of carrying an umbrella: - that is to say there are some here who do get very carried way with the narrative, resulting in good performance still being perceived as disappointingly below expectations leading to erratic spikes and drops in SP that the facts do not support.
There is much here to be optimistic about in terms of potential ifs, buts and maybes, but you should always do your own research, invest on fact and under the current circumstances allow for and expect news/facts to arrive later than many here hope for.
However if you are looking for a junior minerals explorer with a diverse portfolio of projects to move up the value curve then I'd argue there is no better on AIM.
What really excites me is that in Turner Pope's previous SOTP valuation on UFO, they had put an uber aggressive discount factor on Hamersley of 80%, and now they said they are considering to reduce the discount factor to below 60%.
Using the correct high case est target of 245M tonnes (which TP previously said might have to be increased) with a discount factor of 60%, the SOTP valuation = 6.5p/share.
Once they reduce the aggressive 60% discount factor (which might be soon), then an upside valuation of over 10p/share is possible.
Then add the resources that are not factored in at all eg Platinum at Munni Munni North.
And if we become a DSO producer, then can go much higher and enter mid-tier territory.
No I haven't thanks for sharing!
Also, eatstocks - presumably you have read the most recent report from Turner Pope. It's due to be revalued on the basis of A/ recent Hamersley developments - mainly the reduction of the risk discount from 60% down to something better reflecting current levels of confidence that JORC compliance is expected, and B/ the increasing value of the ore itself since the previous valuation (which, itself was published before the EH Tailings announcement so didn't include that value).

Thanks for the invitation, eatstocks, and your question "where's the money coming from?" is so important. It's not entirely from shareholders: Alien Metals signed a joint venture with Capstone Mining last October which will bring money into the UFO pot over several years. See the Proactive Investors interview of 22nd October, "Alien Metals cements farm-out of Donovan 2 with Capstone Mining". And it's copper. Woohoo!
