Thunder....Tesla's earnings report was staggering....it seemed to have little to do with making and selling cars.....reminds me of yahoo made loads of money on stuff that had nothing to do with what they actually did.....so they were really more like a hedge fund speculating an making investments in things far removed from what their raison d'etre was....why not just jack it in sell it and go be a hedge fund....i don't trust businesses that operte like this...chicanery....Greensill.....Wirecard just recent example estra especially Wirecard.....have their found the absconded CFO yet ?
Certainly learning some stuff looking at TUI shennanigans.....but hey people are making money here...I wouldn;t like to hold though...the way i look at TUI shareholders is rather like pass the parcel.....really i can;t see it's worth anything...the company belongs tothe creditors from what i can see.....but at the moment the SP rises so hey ho
The selfish, self centred arrogance of some posters on this board beggars belief. I suppose you are above wearing a mask as well.
Spindler, I think what we are seeing is what happens when the state effectively stands behind a company - its a ridiculous situation tbh. There is a general theme that stocks are unshortable at the moment, and I tend to agree - Tesla being another prime example, then Air France etc being bailed out. Which leads me to conclude we are in the mother of all meltups. TUI equity holders will be punished, share price could double or halve - its just irrational exuberance. The end game comes when inflation sets in and things start to become unaffordable.
Do you want an India?! GET real
Just to be clear I am one of the least fearful around this hence flying multiple times last year and with TUI. If there is anything i am fearful of it's stupid draconian politicians and bureaucrats/officials making peoples life a misery. I have friends who are terrified to come to the pub now they are open...that is what the likes of Neil Ferguson.....Chris Witty hve inflicted on those who seem to have no criticl thinking ability.
I have been pretty much carrying on a s normal aside from the the hurdles from lockdown...aka i cannot go to the pub if they are not open....cannot go to the gym if closed....i am now back i the gym and the pub.....and i want to go on holiday as ap what i don;t want is a load of petty baloney cooked up by politicians and their bogus lackies...ruining peoples lives....thye have done enough of that ...covid this covid that.....hundres of thousands have lost jobs companies and industries destoryed.....Let's get back to living if they will let us.....and just beware all thise in the shadows who want this nigthmare to continue...like doom moner so called scientists like Ferguson...Witty etc...Ferguson wrong on everything since forever is still beig whelled out by mainstream media to spew his BS
the US has been acting internally with flights throughout and the infections are no different due to flying.
Live and let live. The customers will be fine as they are just as much as risk at home in a restaurant than sitting on a plane for a few hours.
I have been on 10 planes thoughout the pandemic and all were fairly packed, masks only and a free for all at the baggage reclaim.
Get over your fears and live life.
Spindler
It is a bit like the lockdowns. Ways around everything. It is a tick to get on the plane so a few quid.
For most, as long at they get to the destination, they will not be too concerned about getting home.
Most (cetainly those affording £2000 pp hols) have rainy day funds to get by should the worst happen.
If not they would not be holidaying in the 1st place.
The issue is the risk personally of catching covid and being hospitalised or one of your family / child ends up in hospital. But that is covered by insurance.
If scared stay at home, if not be prepared for a few additional costs.
Wellbeing v money. wellbeing comes first.
This could have long legs this afternoon!!
Yes focus on the FoMO not the fundamentals for actual customers which will ultimately affect you and your legs
This could have long legs this afternoon!!
so why £80 that's not cheap ? I'm looking at this as a customer not an investor but it has ramifictions for investors...yes i know they are doing this in schools and elsewhere ad they dont cost £80.....how i this to be done overseas in resort ? are tui sorting this or leaving it to holidaymakers.....great idea (NOT ) if people have to travel to say airport to get tested prrior t departure an then back to resort....thisneeds in resort testing with ease !!!!! ISthis available ?
Tests are quick and cheap. Many school kids are doing this weekly in the UK at the moment. The fact that there are so inaccurate is never considered.
You have to remember for the majority of the population a holiday is buy a dream any year.
However for those that can afford a holiday this is only an incidental cost that will not prevent the decision to get away.
Many are chomping at the bit to get away and millions are in a better position financially due to enforced savings and top of the list is HOLIDAY.
The main reason not to go, other than covid would seem to be a wish to avoid overcrowding, drunk and feckess and facilities not opened. The higher end market will not care a jot as will the booze crowds.
Should support prices for the holiday firms too.
Long term, who knows but short term it is FOMO.

What abroad ? in the UK ? What a rigmarole
just been looking at one of their partners covid costs...£80 fit to fly....per person
That's expensive for a family helck its expensive for one person...
WHAT ABOUT COMING BACK ?
Not amazed as the FOMO will drive this towards, IMHO £6 are the airlines open up.
The moves will be great for trading.
I believe £5 SP is a given shortly.
NOT a recomendation or a ramp. Just an opinion.

Hven;t checked but am now thinking regular insurers are either not offering covid cover or perhaps an enhanced policy for more money to cover that eventuality
Answering my own questions here ..good amount of info on the website...seems they are now chrging for the covid cover insurance so suspect all travel insurance is basically bugging out that. They are lsiting defaqto travel insurance as an option.
I see if you get ill with covid you can a free rebooking not a refund by the looks of it...
Amazed by this SP level but there you go...guess the poster who mentioned the sentiment had a point. We shall see in the long term....short term voting machine...long term weighing machine.
Now a a couple of questions. When i flew with TUi last year they very cleverly had a covid cover included with the booking, I thought that was smart as so may insurers trying to avoid liability and let;s face it how mucch would it or did it cost TUi prob very little if anything....(shame on those insurers...well i cancelled my annual policcy with my provider after they changed the rules after purchasing the policy so thanks TUi)
Now fast forward to this year....what is going to be the score....last year traveled no covid test...no vax etc and worked out fine(with tui's covid cover promise)
Now i see no travel without vax proff or covid test so the rules have changed... So say you book and then get a positive test...do they cover that ? D oes the regular insurance cover cover that bearing in mind they bogusly imo wriggled off that hook last year.
Seems to me Tui would be wise to do a refund and covid cover(again) for covid related issues. My fear is they will be belt tightening but it's probably jot going to cost them much...
Even for those with vax's it doesnt seem clear around the documentation and for thos e wthout they are going to need a test and that might be large family groups.
This issue didn;t e exist last year flew with no restriction and cover from tui for such eventuality
i agree but also the massive booking ratio going through TUI at present with the travel opening again shortly, someone I know who works for TUI has advised they have never had so many bookings at of late.
I think the main driver of today's rise is the upgrading of the UKs economic growth for 2021 from 5% to 6.8% and the general positivity in the UKs economy rebound.
Agreed, here's hoping.
Perhaps... finally... the realisation that here are holidays this Summer is kicking in.
Looking forward to the F.O.M.O (Fear of missing out) with travel stocks.
