Live Coronavirus latest news: Calls for 'digital passports' to help beat travel curbs and open economy
Oh thanks Rich .
Soulsister,
Cragcol was replying to Bsinkers post from Saturday at 16.04.
Regards.
When did I say I was freaking out ! Honestly some BB posters are so funny . Catch you later
Who are you replying to your comment makes no sense . 1 post ? What point are you making
Fair enough.. I agree 5-10 years .
Hahaha 4.50. What you smoking!! This will continue to drop now for a few weeks. Maybe a few spikes here and there
But nothing like this week. Then when the worst hit stock rally again at some point in the next 2 months, this will do the same. And then it will repeat that until we have vaccine or enough ppl have had covid or whatever the silver bullet is for the issue. Just hold and sell on the next spike if you are that desperate. Don’t get people who buy shares and then freak out when they go down. You should be buying with a 10 year view and you will never catch the bottom or top. Accept that
I’m not feeling that at the moment to be honest..... infection rates will keep increasing at the moment.
I think good news will come next week. £4.50 by next Friday??
I don't like butting in on someone's else's conversation but if you put a stop loss in for say 300 and one day all of a sudden they crash to say 200 they will sell your shares at 200 even though you might have not wanted that.
Many a time shares can crash in the morning take out stop losses only to recover later in the day, so be careful when putting stop losses in.
Thanks Rich .
Best of luck
Soulsister,
I'm sure you've heard / read of Motley Fool. And form your own opinion of that type of journalism.
I see you've got almost 1500 posts to your name, and it looks like you post on a wide spectrum of boards.
If you're invested in all those boards you post on, I imagine you've very wisely spread your financial income to prevent any TUI collapse damaging you so.
Have a pleasant weekend.
Thank you Get Rich , I'm told by others old and young that I'm more like a 50 year old visually and mentally , so that's a good thing :) But I really need more leisure time , the govt stuffed my chance of that .
So I need to make sure I'm ok financially . I just wonder what kind of stop loss to set on these ? There has been talk on Motley Fool and elsewhere that some airlines including this one could go bust , what is the likelihood of that ? It's happened before . I just don't want to lose the lot .
Thanks for any advice in advance
Good morning, Soulsister,
I feel your pain regards buying any share and then the subsequent day the Sp drops - then knowing you could have bought in a snippet cheaper.
Anything below £3.50 Is a good price and there is profit to be made. Obviously my opinion of that doesn't help you and your current plight.
I've been buying TUI shares for the last few months but I've only been doing so when they hit my buy price.
I admire your post, for a 64 yr young lady, you certainly write your posts with a modern tongue.
Hugh,
The German government has bailed TUI out to the time of €1.2bn. The bailout is stop the collapse for the TUI brand and the inordinate amount of money it turns over within Germany.
The bailout is to protect tourism, which isn't related to shareholders but is related to the happy commuter.
This company is Government backed, and they've bailed out TUI before.
In my lowly opinion, this is a fairly 'solid' stock to buy and hold.
It's just timing those buys.
Good luck all.
Well said Hugh , a balanced opinion . I was silly enough to buy these yesterday . Now I'm sitting on a large paper loss in one day . That's the stock market for you . Was my SIPP trying to make sure I'm ok for my older age as the govt added 6 years onto the date . I was one of the 50's women that missed out when we were promised a retirement date of 60 , sadly I hadn't got time with the notice they gave us to do anything to make up for the 54k they have done me out of . Worked since I was 15 , now 64 finding it tough on my own . So I took a risk bought these after the announcement of Tui having lots of booking for 2021 , day after that Doris issued quarantine for several countries and down they plummet . Just trying to earn a crust . Not easy these days.
Wish you luck too :)
We are all on here to make a quick buck arn't we? Do not expect anyone or government to bail out a listed company for our benefit. But looking further down the line, it would be to keep industry and retail working for the eventual recovery. Otherwise, why bother with furloughing people, why not just let them become unemployed, some of them for the rest of their lives? Always 2 sides to a story, always 2 ways to look at things.
No winder you're user name is bully
That wasn't what I meant . I just meant keep changing things they tell us , don't wear masks do wear masks , shake hands don't touch anyone outside your circle . I never mentioned money ! Don't get all arsey with me
Bought 250k in one go , don't think you'd do that if you thought it was going to drop further . FTSE had a red day and govt aren't helping useless lot . Next week it may look different
