So you've spent your SD on TSCO shares and now you're asking "what are the positives Here" Unbelievable!!!
Thanks leas & exon. Anyone else not received? I purchased on 2-Feb so 2 weeks before XD.
Having bought these before the consolidation/SD I am annoyed at the outcome, but trying to look forward, not back. Simply put I have spent the SD on TSCO shares and 'am left with the same number of shares with a few pound left over. Now the bit I don't understand, I hold the same number of shares as I did say 3 weeks ago, and this means I own more of the company today, but the value of my shares is down by 10%. Has the payment of the SD, and putting money into the pension fund really reduced the size of the company? What are the positives here??? JJ
I'm with the ii platform, received my SD on the 26th as expected. I reinvested it straight back into Tesco, rather than wait for the drip! I find ii are a very good reliable platform.

I'm with Jarvis, all dividend owed payed. Also made a purchase on the Friday afternoon before XD and that has been credited to my account.
Hi...I've still not received my Special Div, was supposed to paid 26th Feb. I'm on ii platform. I see phy510 is in the same boat. Anyone know what's going on? Has anyone received one?
Just increased my share of the Tesco pie, thankfully I don't have to eat it!!
Thanks lynny, likewise if I hear anything myself will further post. I did get an email before saying “Around” the 26th.
Mrss, that would be due to the special dividend & 15/19 share consolidation. Go to www.tescoplc.com/investors and read the information provided there. Alternatively, read some previous posts on this board. It's been extensively discussed over the last few months...
Hi All! I hope this is not a new message because this is about the special div. I had 390 shares before 15 Feb, now I have received share certificates of 311. They have said the previous 390 certificates need to be destroyed. And entitlement from the special divided will be sent to you separately. What does it me?
@phy510 Hi no I haven't did send message Friday asking when could I expect it. So not sure get the feeling I read somewhere that it could be around 10th march I hope that isn't so. If I get notification will let you know OK.
Hi all, can I ask if those of you who are with IG have received your special dividend payment yet. Still not had mine. Wondered if others are also waiting?
TIA
Me too, ploughed my sd back in so now have the same number of shares (+/-) as before Feb. Assuming final divi will be significantly higher than last year - in theory if last year's level (total dividend payments) is maintained, we should get a final divi of 8.23p in July (last year's 6.5p ÷15*19). Total for the year, not counting the special, of 11.4p, a very decent return on sp of ~£2.30. Anything over 7.5 now and 3.7p next interim will be quite good.
Chelwood...needed tweaking
Morning All
Now the deed is done, can we find something else to discuss.
1.Ginge and Whinge on the Oprah show. (Oprah Show definition: whatever privacy is the Oprah show is not it )
2.Covid.
3.Anything but the SD.
Jr
In that case hope you will be adding. Good luck here and with your other investments.
Leas
Too true, and the only variance between us is the size of the final dividend.
I look forward to the year end numbers before investing further.

Only one of the Asian businesses was profitable and one making a loss. Reduction of Pension costs should help too.
I suppose more clarity in April.
Less
Misunderstanding thought you meant a final dividend of 10p!
Understand bigger piece of pie, but size of the pie has reduced with Thai sale.
I am a supporter of the company
JR20
Really? Currently just over 9p for the annul total payment. 20% consolidation. Surely an increase with fewer pieces of the pie to share out.
SB
''It’s a normal dividend ''
rather large to come out of operational profits.
I have a buffer to shield me - an accountant.
He will take care of it

Think 10p may be optimistic even with reduction of shares.
Market capitalisation has reduced by5bn.
I will be interested to see balance sheet at year end reflecting £8.5 bb sale.
Good luck
Should be a good 7p + final dividend to come in the summer
in my ISA so that I have a round number of shares again.
Could have bought for about 4p less first thing but got distracted by the missing capital return payment.
PenguinZ,
Mine was already in there when I checked first thing this morning. It had been treated no differently to any other dividend. This was with "II".
I was able to reinvest (manually) immediately. A minority, only, of it went on Tesco shares - the rest went on other things that I wanted to top up.
Having read all the comments here this morning, there seem to be 2 main issues, one maybe linked to the other.
(i) With any "normal" dividend, there's a declared "ex dividend" date usually on a Thursday, and then a declared "record date" usually on the Friday. People knew exactly where they stood in terms of timing of any intended buying. In this case, there was a bit of a grey area around 11/12/15 Feb with these normally distinct dates for the various stages somehow overlapping.
(ii) Inability of some brokers/platforms to handle it all from an administrative viewpoint.
I really feel sorry for those where their broker/platform appears to have cxxked it up, and hope it all comes good with minimum delay, hassle and stress.
Mike.
It’s not a return of capital! It’s a normal dividend pure and simple, the holding book cost never changed. There’s a lovely box on the tax return to put the figure on! ;)
