Beetham,
152p
A solid prediction there, any thoughts on what is causing all the downward pressure ?
OK that makes sense, but your original post did make it sound like you started with £1809 and traded your way up to 260k shares.
You are right of course my numbers are wrong just checked £1806 not £1809. I was £3 out. I have just amended my spreadsheet. Also I think some people are pretty poor at Maths. My initial stake in Tullow was a decent size that I progressively derisked. This share has more than 5 bagged for me. Holding 260,000 shares for £1806 is hardly hard in that scenario. Try starting with a sum of 30-40k as the initial holding ...some people!
Sageman, Anton is right. Your numbers do not match and your story doesn't sound realistic.
Anton, believe what you like. As I freely admit some you win , some you lose. I lost big time on UKOG. This is the opposite. GLA.
Sageman I smell BS.... 260,000 shares with initial capital outlay of £1809. Be very surprised if that was correct. If you bought £1809 worth at 7p you would have started with 25,842 shares. You would then have to sell and buy back in at a 100% reduction over 3 times or at a 10% reduction God knows how many times.
FDM, For me this was a punt, a high risk play which is why I de-risked quickly and I have traded. In contrast with current management strategy combined with POO the company is pretty solid. £1 is pretty doable but for higher SP's we need some decent drills. I am happy to enjoy the ride. I have made back here what I lost on UDOG (UKOG) which is why diversification is so critical. Only a liar always buys at the bottom and always sells at the top. Even with the best research we all get dogs. GLA
FDM,
I am patient as I have been in TLW for many years - and this share has been good to me, and we are now a more streamlined and efficient company than for a long time. But we are still in 50p range.
Sageman, that is amazing investment. Good luck my friend. Just hope we have no surprises. Burst pipes, or unexpected viruses. ??
All a gamble my friend, but look at the graphs . Long term, not 6 months. 70p this year, but hopefully £1. then who knows, I would like £2 before I sell. Lots of up and down s , but be patient. Need oil to stay high for a while and inflation will kick in soon. It's here now, just not seeing it in wages.
Jubileey, you never win them all (don't mention UKOG!!!). But I gambled right here buying initially sub 10p and then some at 7p (and it was a gamble at 7p with oil at $20 and eyewatering debts). I then de-risked and have actively traded. All in my pension and ISA so £1809 total net cost. Good luck to all
260,000 shares at a cost of £1809...
pre-tax or after tax? (you had to sell some shares to get that weighted average cost), good for you
I am very happy here 260,000 shares at a cost of £1809. I also have TB Guiness global energy and Ishares MSCI world energy sector funds. I think that the sector has some way to go and that POO is rapidly repairing balance sheets. I like Tullow but I also like a diversified sector play. GLA
SB,
Is 152p your exit price ?
Straight up to 152p but in a very zigzagging line !
FDM,
With poo at about $85, TLW hedging 75% of production and the SP at 52p - where do you expect the SP to go from here ?
With oil @ $85, TWL is a very good bet at current price. Or do others know better! I just don't understand what is going on. Will buy more next week to get me nearer 1/2 million shares. **** or bust . Good luck to all.
Probably a play on the oil price collapsing?
Tullow are particularly sensitive so it’s a hedge.
Perhaps they were reading some of the derampers around that time! Lol.
Can’t understand why CFM Shorted TLW start of September and continue to do so. They are showing an estimated 13% loss and can only get worse with expected commodity prices increasing. Unless they heard some whispers about….nothing I can think of!
These shares are a buy all day, week and month long till they get over 150 pence IMO
