Anyone who’s been on here for a while now will clearly see the difference in vocabulary and writing style that rock8 is now using. Definitely a different wombat in control of that account than it was a few months back
I very much doubt he was in advertising and marketing
When your posts create the impression to.us of a manic unstable obsessive persona as he does with many of us then clearly doesnt understand the psychology behind his branding and image.
Complete nut job and one to avoid is the brand image he has created with me
Too early for alcohol as still ferrying teenagers around.
But passionate about the advertising industry.
The WPP story never made any sense to me - not their business.
Have a good evening Rock, I see you have 1530 posts.. I am guessing they are all here today! lol :) just kidding man (woman) or whatever other things people have come up with now.
Lay off the tipple and get some sleep and see what comes tomorrow :)
Sorry I spent a lifetime involved in the advertising industry.
Sorry will shut up now.
Wow Rock man... turn off the internet. You have a weird obsession deramping THG at the weekend unless you are a shorter you really need to get out more or at least put netflix on and try to chill out. You are coming across as quite unstable pal, just saying, whatever the obsession is I hope you get some help breaking it cos it is really really bizarre to be this obsessed spamming the board all the time.
Feels like I’ve just been given the dictionary definition of a creative agency six times. Very odd.
Agencies believe ‘creativity is king’ not the actual mechanical production of that creative.
They separate the process.
They keep control of the premium creative and drive the production costs down through competition.
They will also provide the production skills but not the studios etc.
Very different approach
Sorry the advertising agencies write the creative.
There will do the creative but not production of that creative.
That’s how the industry works.
THG seem to be doing it very differently?
Advertising agencies outsource the majority of work but control the creative etc.
Work is done outside.
A very different business model.
I don’t think WPP would invest in this resource themselves.
They would outsource as much as possible to reduce the investment until it’s established.
Even at that point WPP would probably outside as they currently do with their advertising agencies.
They outsource as much as possible but centrally control the creative/product.
This is what Fitch had to say on THG's in-house Ingenuity platform last year. It would be Great to see similar headlines from media and analysts alike.
"THG's in-house Ingenuity platform and owned infrastructure represent a high barrier to new entrants, only matched, if only partly, by Amazon.com, Inc. (A+/Positive). Fitch's rating construction does not centre on Ingenuity's current or future earnings. Instead, Fitch's business-model considerations focus on Ingenuity's capabilities that facilitate THG's core nutrition and beauty segments in the direct-to-consumer space."

I bet WPP would like to get their hands on all of these divisions, saves starting from scratch.
Analysts assume most of the growth comes from influencers and the brands themselves, very little (if any) credit is given to the supporting infrastructure which makes this all possible and sustainable, it could ales be considered THG's moat.

Do you find you don't get.invited to many parties Rock? You'd be good at funerals though.
All the negatives priced in but hardly any.positives
It’s certainly a very different approach to business?
Building huge warehouses, huge studios etc all ahead of the business requirement.
It’s probably one of the many things that spook the markets.
Certainly on the recent conference call the analysts couldn’t believe they were only utilising less than 30% of their existing warehousing capacity and yet building more?
It’s certainly a bold vision and something that desperately needs to sold to investors and analysts - otherwise they will view this over capacity as a liability?
Just an observation from the recent investor conference call.
One of the many issues the THG management team needs to address urgently.
This is really why market has such a different valuation on the company - for every positive there is an equally rational negative.
Incredibly frustrating as a shareholder as I don’t see MM recognising and addressing these issues.
But again I hope things now start to change just not sure how?
One of the largest studios in Europe.
Yep and again valued at exactly ZERO!
Completely detached from the actual business!
..another arm of THG rarely ,mentioned but part of the whole package, all requires investment ..
