Agree. Boris needs to stop all mandates and force companies to stop using proof of vaccination to enter venues.
Went to see Ricky Gervais the other week. Couldn't get in without a vax pass, which luckily me and my wife both had on our phones, but I think that's well out of order to push a 2 tier society if people don't want to be vaxed. They should have their personal choice. I'll be well angry if my 16 year old daughter can't go to events or has to pay loads more for testing if she chooses not to get vaxed.
Mando_ I hug my kids before and after school, just to keep my immunity up ;-)
Agree about the booster, hopefully this will be gone by the time next summer rolls round, got a text saying my vaccine expires next June....
@fordm
Completely agree with you.
I had covid march 2020 quite badly. I got the AZ vax and got bad side affects of tendonitis in my forearms/inside of elbows area, achillies heels, had really painful feet and swelling in my lower legs. My brother got exactly the same symptoms. Had the 2nd AZ vax in July. Only now the effects are starting to reduce. No way I'm getting a booster and I'm not pushing my kids to get a shot considering I'm 100% sure they've both already had it a couple of times already too.
This guy, Dr. John Campbell gives loads of well researched info:

Referring to natural immunity, one of my kids is in a class of 21, all under 10 y/o. Some signed up to voluntary testing, this week we had 5 test positive, they had to stay at home, the rest came to school as normal, just wore masks if they felt like it.
The 5 positive had zero symptoms, except for one that said she had a headache, I suspect that was due to atmospheric pressure change suddenly as we had a dumping of snow.
My point is most of us are walking around with covid anyway, just no ill effects or issues, our bodies are dealing with it and those that have problems, well they would have had problems with the 'normal' flu anyway.
Completely agree.
OPEC+ agreed to more output today
It is like a set up....and very soon ..it will all reverse IMO
1. Debt Limit in US - settled
2. Oil and gas prices to start to drop...inflation eases
3. New COVID variant becomes manageable and less of a concern..downgraded from "concern" to "interest"
Let's see what next week brings of all this farce
Pokerchips, none of it makes sense any more. Willing to bet that big pharma were doing their own external testing in the community to see what was out there, makes sense that they would, they cannot just rely on state health authorities to do the job. Also willing to bet that if they knew, they wanted it to spread, increase revenues and all that.
It was reported on the news that the person in the US who came in from SA with it only had mild symptoms...
The news also talks about how positive cases have doubled in the last week, but they don't mention that testing was also increased 50%. Data all available on google... Its all part of a narrative to drive vaccinations due to "the science", but there are also doctors who talk about how most of us now have natural immunity which is better, but there's no profit in natural immunity...
So there are now increasing signs that the New variant was in circulation in other countries before South Africa’s health authorities alerted the world to its presence..
so..how can all the top notch testing hospitals and Research centres in Europe/US etc not have known about it before South Africa said something
..and then..hey ..we have that too ...
surely people couldn't have been that sick if apparently they have been wandering around with this thing and no one even knew about it
It doesn't make sense
THG shares, a safe place to be in a volatile market, after the last few months as shareholders, i think we deserve it.
keep safe
hahaha I'd be well happy with that mate :-)
Mando, I’ll be Bruce Willis, you can be Ben Affleck!
True, I'm still holding THG
well I would think that nutrition and vitamins and beauty/well being would do OK during times of anxiety, stress, uncertainty
The government underestimated covid first time around. They can't be seen to take risks this time.
Pandemic stock plays now back in fashion
lol OxfordBull if you want some flat earth conspiracy concerns, have a think about why SpaceX & Nasa launched yesterday a rocket to "see if they can nudge an asteroid off course as a practise run in case an asteroid is ever found to be on course for earth", even though it's not due to get "near" until mid 2022.
I've seen the movies. They always say there's nothing to worry about until its too late to avoid panic!!
Maybe this crash is more about that and somebody in power knows something. It's the money men funding that mission lol ;-)
Mando, you’re starting to make the flat earthers look sane ;)
Anna on Bloomberg just literally nailed it:
"I mean it typically is thin this day of all days isn't it globally such is the role of the United States in global markets, but it was a work day here n Europe yesterday, and there was plenty of news, there was plenty of news around the Covid 19 fight across Europe, so even before you were talking about this new variant, you were still talking about what Belgium did because there might be further clampdown measures, we've seen some of that coming though, so I suppose you would assume that desks would be well enough staffed because there has been plenty of news coming through on covid 19.
And things have been moving very quickly, but yeah you do wonder how much of this is some sort of programmed trade that somebody put on on Wednesday before going off on a long weekend"
Abosultely Pokerchips
Look at the FTSE100 2 hour charts from dead on midnight. Clearly a co-ordinated attack with the media on board, doctors ready to go with interviews on speculation but with no actual data. Traders expecting light days with the US on holiday.
I also love how Bloomberg Live on YouTube just keep repeating that "today is very much a risk-off day", and I'm sitting here looking at THG in the green. Who would have thought that THG would be a "risk-on" share in the last few weeks. Love it! lol
" but the overblown response to very limited data seem very suspect to me 2
Mando
I would guess that is merely down to switching ALGO sell trades on..and letting them rip through the market , taking stop losses with them at a rapid rate
I doubt there are many "people" sitting at City desks wondering to buy or sell ...they just run the ALGO... GO!
Well ,FTSE 100 is down 2.7% today but thg up 0.8% great day I think
On Bloomberg they had the SA chief Medical Doctor on saying they think it accounts for about 90% of cases CURRENTLY. So it's already out there to a large degree. I get maybe there will be an increase in cases and deaths to come, but the overblown response to very limited data seem very suspect to me. We've seen the same thing before.
THG loosely following the FTSE100 charts currently also. FTSE goes up, THG goes up.
182.5 support line on THG looking good again now.
Yesterday the scientist said :
“It is difficult to predict how transmissible it may be at this stage. For the time being it should be closely monitored and analysed, but there is no reason to get overly concerned unless it starts going up in frequency in the near future.”
and today...media frenzy ....and trying to cause a stock market crash....
no hospitalisations in the epicentre Jo'berg ...humm
I wonder if more aid is given to Africa and more vaccines ...the "variant" will suddenly not be that bad ???
Mando, they have only confirmed 58 cases in SA so I think you’ve misconstrued the data. The concern is that this new variant will be much more virulent and vaccines will be less effective. Time will tell.
