Testicles.Brands like empires ride high and then something else is fashionable.Superdry's owner used (perhaps he still does!) own a private jet.Topman even went into admin.Joules too!Although Joules was always more of a specialised middle aged, country mum with 2 kids and a spaniel kind of vibe.
Next seems to be an exception to the rule. It's ceo sure knows his stuff.
This is a bit like the AA buyout a couple of years ago. Shareholders hoping for a better price but ended up going through at disappointing level. Feel sorry for longer term holders with high averages, I only bought in a couple of months ago in mid 90’s but was hoping for £1.30 minimum or trade through for a while with a better recovery.
I brought back in at 105 so I will break even but there are holders here that are 2,3,4 or 10 pound in what value have they had?
Also: Ted Baker rejected a second takeover proposal from Sycamore, claiming that each of Sycamore’s offers ‘significantly undervalued’ the company.
Sycamore initially offered £1.30 a share, which was later raised by 5.8% to £1.38 a share, valuing the retailer at £254m ($334m).
Its the craziest offer I ever thought I know things are tough but they would be better off to just keep going at that price.
Will people sell their shares or stick with the other company diluted?
What a pile of excrement that board is given the offers they’ve previously passed on!
Baker Bod are recommending the deal they don't have to accept but in the current gloomy outlook they have decided £1.10 is the best they will get.
Could Toscafund increase their share option to 30% and trigger mandatory takeover offer as they have bought in some share at 150p forgive me if figures are slightly out ?
I believe they currently own 26.5%
Why must they accept?
Share holders have been shafted they have give it away.
ABG buy looking to get approved for 110p a share , possible news tomorrow morning at earliest! Way too low!
If Ted don't sell after many months of talks i think will be weird now.
yes in london because its somewhat your national product but it needs global scale. is osborne relentless to achieve cutting edge digital sales channel? stores open but yet traction missing. she grabs 534K GBP per annual.
it is politics.
Nice day yesterday and that is just the start.
Went to London for the day and I’ve never seen so many people wearing ted baker clothing
Shhhhh keep it quiet this is a ludicrous valuation.
My thoughts too regarding Next
A buyout at £1.50 would be an absolute disgrace for long term holders and a ridiculous steal to any acquirer.
Just let it run as it will be 5 times £1.50 in 5 years.
If it wasn't happening we would have heard. I would assume they are dealing with more than one interested bidders. Discussions of this magnitude take time and I'm sure the Bod are trying to get the best deal for their shareholders. If potential bidders have come up with low bids they would have told them to foxtrot. I still think they will get a bid and hopefully north of 150.
Doesn’t seem to be happening - I think they just need to update now and let us all know . I’m fine either way , just curious for an update though.
Cannot understand why we have not yet had an update on the state of play with the takeover.Maybe it is more complex and it might involve someone taking a large stake without dilution.:Possibly similar to what Next is doing to Joules.Maybe M&S
I wonder if Next are a potential bidder or investor. It looks as though they will take a 25% interest in Joules. I wonder if they are offering the same type of deal with Ted.
but I think two factors are prerequisite for growth;
1) War in Ukraine must cease and end.
2) After supply chains got disrupted commodity sourcing were to transform and find different vendors/countries, this must be consolidated in 2022.
"I expect this to start accelerating in the very near future." well, by watching the volume of mass surging in and out at every airport we may expect it on some degree.
In 2018 my holding would have cost me £260,000 and it cost me less than 9,000.
The long term holders deserve so much better here. I sincerely hope that this is not bought out and it is just allowed to trade it’s way out of this beyond crazy market cap.
Patience patience this an iconic highly sort after brand that provides fantastic quality and a superb range of very stylish products.
I expect this to start accelerating in the very near future.
Two months now since the preferred counterparty pulled out , so you’d hope that we’d be getting some form of clarification soon. Feels like we’re overdue an update now.
Next had a good update today and increased forecasts due to the hot weather. This should give confidence to the potential bidders. We can't be too far off now until a bid is announced.
