Take your point, you are saying "winter risks" is a euphemism for "Brexit problems".
I'll accept that this is as you state.
However, with the cash burn as it was, this outcome was inevitable. The 200m security may have seen them through winter.
What then?
I can accept that Brexit may have been a tipping point, but really not the cause.
the European Parliament does not have much influence to be honest and am not sure why it has to meet so often and really why we need it to be so big but thats another issue. However we vote for MEP's and as one of the large countries have by far the largest number of members. so we have much more influence than say Finland do for example
fact is the majority 99.9 % (not accurate figure) is voted for in House of Commons, even the Lords has no power really (as it is not elected)
The reason the Tories and Right wingers do not like EU parliament is because it is more Centre than Right Wing
bit more Blair than Boris, thats why they wanted us to vote remain
The northern thicko’s like me who voted leave didn’t know hat they were voting for. LOL. and all the southern softie Walters that voted remain are obviously of superior intellect! I think not.
This is getting silly now... this is the TCG thread not the Brexit thread - see general chat for that... thousands of employees out of work, 150,000 customers to return to the UK and shareholders losing their funds - that's the only thing that is important today.. (although Doug - I have to bite back - happy to have another ref - once we honour the mandate of the first ref thanks)
its a rubber stamp Parliament .... as it cannot
Introduce legislation or amend it once in law
the Executive hold the power ... which is does not have a direct voting system to the public
If we aren’t controlled by Eu, why is there a European Parliament?
the UK = 19 of the smaller EU states combined
UK has a global reach not just EU trade
UK can set its own trade policy
the only value the EU brings is the single market ... but you are subsidizing poor EU states and because of the wealth gap encouraging wealth harmonization .. which as Greece found out ... is not that easy ..
so we are importing low cost labour which has a direct cost on productivity here ... ie you don't need so many Robots you can employ migrants ...
that low cost labour does not pay much tax ... yet expect full social welfare ....
5m !! how many extra hospitals schools and houses ?
How many super Rich .. are using freedom of movement .. ? to get suckered into our tax system ?
Commiserations to current TCG holders. I was here before the referendum and TCG was a bit of a basket case then revisiting it’s banking arrangements twice in four week from recollection. Went to bed at 53p - woke up at about 28p I recall. This has f’all to do with Brexit - just another excuse for the ‘moaners. Goldman Sach’s “we’ll leave” build new billion dollar+ Plumtree Court.
Anyway the referendum was about independence not fiscal improvement. Every project fear prediction thus far has been boIIocks. Trading with Europe will go on much as before, neither side can afford for it not to, esp’ Germany & we’ll be free to do our own thing elsewhere.
None of it has any bearing on TCG. It’s been a slow death that nothing could prevent.
Sky News has just pointed out that Condor is still flying as EU has different rules to Uk
we insist that planes are grounded immediatley
so yet another way in which we NOT controlled by EU (Fake news) suckers . You were all lied to
By the way the Brexit argument was started on the TCG thread by a Leaver - Jessie - who implied the EU are so awful for not coughing up money to compensate stranded TCG travellers. Fact is that the EU and Mrs May agreed a deal. Her own MPs in the ERG voted against it. THREE TIMES. Boris or Corbyn will come back with a very similar deal to May's deal as the EU aren't budging. Therefore we have 2 choices Remain or Leave with no deal. Put that back to the people and get on with it. The 1st referendum was based on lies that we'd control immigration, get a great deal with the EU, have our own free trade deals with loads of other countries within a few weeks and have loads of money for the NHS. Now the Brexiteers have shown their hand and revealed that there is no true benefit in leaving lets have the 2nd referendum and take it from there. That's called democracy.
and even the huge increase in net migration was not the EU fault, it was UK govt , they wanted more workers to come in to assist grow our economy all about GDP going up and up, thats why we have too big a population that our infrastructure struggles to cope with
but yet no reasons how UK will be better off alone?
EU is the Same as the hotel California. The establishment doesn’t want us to leave. Hence we will never leave. Just watch over the next 3 months.
Labours policy up to today was to Leave with a deal in name only ............. ie stuck in a customs union and the single market without a say
now it wants a ref ............... on its deal "stuck in without a say" or stuck in with a say " (remain)
some offer that is ....
Lib Dems = revoke
Today Conservatives and Brexit party, a deal that removes us from all EU institutions .. as per the Ref.
Mays deal was half in half out ............ actually about the same as Corbyns .... because the back stop guarantees in law that we would be forced into a customs union/single market deal .
hence She got the Sack ...
Plaintruth yes i agree but yet again the Tories are to blame there not EU
I thought Teresa May would have put a draft agreement for agreement by parliament to ensure it was acceptable. Wrong to sign off an agreement then put it to parliament only to be told by Junkers you can’t have any changes now as you already signed.
I follow numerous share chats, most of them have turned into discussing nothing more than Brexit...started by remainers. There are many other websites to discuss Brexit, I just wish posters would go there rather than turning a share dealing chat forum into Brexit. Regarding TCG, many factors have led to their demise.
He wasn't bullied. He was asking for an extra special deal just for the UK because you, we are "great" Britain. Imagine everyone asked for an extra special deal.
He asked for something the EU COULD NOT GIVE. Thats not bullying. Thats just reality.
finger how will be better off when we leave?
Parliament were complaining about the EU before the referendum and David Cameron went to the EU atleast twice to negotiate, but was bullied by the EU 27 and sent packing with his tail between his legs both times.the UK was a laughing stock.
Thats when the referendum came into play, to show the EU27 that we will not be bullied, it was a threat to leave to use as a bargaining tool. which no one expected to go as far as being voted on, let alone a vote to leave wining the referendum.
The decission to leave the EU by the people showed that we as a country will not be bullied and that it was time we were taken seriously.
And the months leading up to the referendum were full of scare mongering and threats of doom from all directions. yet the people stood their ground in the face of distruction and said bring it on.
Since that time there has been nearly three years of scare mongering to instill fear in to the people, big companies have been trying to threaten us because they don't want to leave, its like the leave voters are being held at knife point and being told that now we have you were we want you running scared, lets take that vote again.
The people have already voted, it was set in motion and in law by Parliament, and the courageuos people that stood their ground should not now be held to ransom for their votes. by the cowardly remoaners that have the backing of MP's and fat cat companies and unions..
I have always voted for Labour, but voted to leave the EU in the referendom,
I Then did a tactical vote for the conservatives in the election to leave the EU as Labour appeared to be against the democratic vote for leaving the EU.
Labour in my opinion have hindered Mrs May's chances of getting a better deal, and forcing her to lay her gambling chips on display has weakened her hand and tactics for a better deal.
I will never vote for Labour again, they have no idea of how negotiations and bartering for a deal works, they have no respect for democracy, and they should change their party's colour to yellow as they have lead the retreat from the battle ground and sabatarged brexit.
Atleast Boris has tried to keep our option to walk away on the table to have the chance of a better deal, and even now the cowardly Labour party are trying to scupper his tactics, maybe Corbin is on the EU payroll.
Atleast Boris has a back bone.
Its funny how the EU have not looked at the reasons why the UK have chosen to leave the EU, or even considered the changes Cameron was asking for before the referendum asking for reform, they could have offered to make changes to keep the UK in, but they didn't bother.
As for TCG, the prelonged brexit argument has just added to the insecurity for investment. but at the end of the day they did not move with the times and have been mismanaged the company.
I feel sad for all of the people that will suffer as a consequence.
My pleasure Bigs
Thanks for that. You are a gentleman.
Wanted to say thanks. I got out at 13.5 ish!
jessell as inanco has failed miserably why should i favour brexit?
i want to know how i am going to better off?
also why is it different helping out somebody living in Cardiff than Calais?
Maybe a little more they own hotels however they owe 1.7B they will never get anywhere near that...
tomski - what is your point about TCG?
