well i said TC would go bust, Johnson would lose in court so 3 for 3 NO BREXIT???
maybe TUI may need em given the max 737 fiasco
Matlot.....your double...hehehe
illbetabuck......09.48am.....spot on...impho
Fosun... may get the best cherry pickings now...at some stage....
what did Fosun say about why they were not stumping up the extra cash when they were prepared to pump another £450mill into what we already knew was a basketcase?? did the penny (£2billion) suddenly drop?
out of work. Hedge Fund collecting 20 Mill for doing nothing. That sums
up a system that is rotten from top to bottom. Insider Information
is passed on in secrecy and if you are one of them you live in luxury and
can turn a blind eye to everything that is unacceptable.
In Kingston/Surrey there are beggars in the street who cannot speak
English. Modern civilization? FAT CATs are on a plane to somewhere
warm where they are misplaced contributing to pollution. Breeding
out of control and freely available to everyone. Have a nice day.
Have Fosun made a statement? They dodged a bullet
where is the neset fan club?
Big wigs
Good call on the hope of a news leek ref the value of the airline bids. There’s enough unpaid disgruntled staff to whistle blow the BOD who hopefully will get investigated through the Government Insolvency Service!!
yeah spot on wolves at door demanding to be paid, clearly they couldn't even pay the pay bill it was that bad hence this weekend as that was due this week
what a way to treat staff
as i said at the time the airlines had no incentive to make decent offers as they knew it was highly likely that TC would go under and the slots would be up for grabs much cheaper
seeds of this were sown in the 90's withe internet, like print media, retail etc, BOD's refused to accept it
gives TUI a few more yrs though as the oldies still like packages
Even with the additional funding, you would have just been delaying the inevitable. Simlply TCG were spending to much money. They should have made staff redundant, closed shops sold off parts for survival.
Even with the Fosun deal it would have just delayed it. The changes should have happened 12-18 months ago.
The BOD are to blame. They just collected their a
Salaries not working in the interests of the company or shareholders.
I am however still super curious what airline offers there were. I hope that gets released in a news leak sometime...
If the banks deemed it wasn't worth keeping TCG afloat then I don't think the taxpayers should. It's not like it's strategically important for the economy. They failed to move with the times and their debt was unsustainable. Repatriation's a separate issue - that's about helping your citizens get back home.
Agree and on BBC this am , Repatriation will cost taxpayer £40mill as ATOL picks up the rest
GOV would be bailing out this basketcase every month if it started
BOD was out nearly every week asking for another 100mill
"It will cost far more to pay dole money , and repatriate travellers than the mere £200 million that was required to keep this afloat ! "
but TCG is a Zombie Company , existing purely to service its debts
The business model is a financial disaster
Companies and businesses fail every week ...the system works whereby the money markets decide whether a business is viable or not ... same with football clubs etc
The banks and retail have both been reducing staff levels for years .....should a Government prop up those staff levels or let the market work ?
In time ...once the assets have been sold a new company will emerge and no doubt employees will be taken on....these new contracts will, no doubt be far more secure than the current ones
Just needs time for things to work through
Total rubbish, this outfit was on a terminal slide before the EU referendum even. When we leave end of next month great things will happen to the UK. The EU is a self serving entity that is hell bent on Federalism and the end of nation states.
bad things happening to Britain? maybe its because we voted to leave EU and destroy the country
“A lot of investors lost money but the clever ones got out at the right time day trading this for weeks”.
I find that hard to believe. Most day traders lose money, especially ones who were “day trading this for weeks”. And I don’t recall anyone posting on here when they sold & bought, doing so every day, consistently getting it right. But there’s plenty of people who’ll tell you after the event that they called it right. They’re very good at predicting the past.
... yet so many couldn’t see the wood for the trees such as “JT Macs”. Good God was he ****sure. He strutted around, calling people who disagreed with him “muppets” and (as such people often do) boasting e.g. claiming he was out to test drive his drophead. I felt he was a Walter Mitty, desperate to persuade us he wasn’t someone he wasn’t. Personally I suspected his name hinted at someone who flipped Big Macs for a living.
You always get a few of them. He’s moved to another crashed share - Metro. Poor people.
On the BBC this morning was a TC pilot who lost his job yesterday.
He said a lot of colleagues are out of UK and will need to make their own at home.
Also added at the end a Hedge Fund was paid out £200 million yesterday due to the collapse.
A Interesting post ......i must say.......X-FILES....moulder and scully ......lol
Cuppa time...............
Be very afraid , there is a fifth column working against this Country and anything British , there was no justification to let this Company fail . It will cost far more to pay dole money , and repatriate travellers than the mere £200 million that was required to keep this afloat ! A good red herring to keep minds off BREXIT. The banks which we the public bailed out should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves . Moan over , now where is my medication .
Evking. Exactly. I was trading this in the earlier part of the year and did ok. I lost my nerve towards the end, which was a good thing. Onto Sxx now.
Atb Woodie
A lot of investors lost money but the clever ones got out at the right time day trading this for weeks. But its a very sad ending for sure.
