Ive had a quick look through the fundamentals but cant see why this would attract so much short attention
On loan stock end of October was very high
Would anyone care to enlighten me?
TIA
Of course £
ah, right - so you know your stuff then!.

I did lots of epoxy floors in Kerry’s Attleborough
When I was working
So I would hope there is No take over approach for TATE.
If Kerry Group has accepted a bid 10 years ago,
shareholders (who continued to hold) would have
missed out on a 400% plus SP gain, yes that's correct -
400%! - which would have dwarfed any bid premium.
And also very familiar with Kerry Group Plc.
Now for anyone who is not aware of Kerry Group,
just take a look at their long term share price chart.
What I hope we are looking for with TATE is
an embryonic version of what Kerry has achieved.
Now embryonic may seem a little incongruous as a term
to describe Tate and Lyle which has been around for many decades,
however this is the largest evolution since disposing of sugar
and perhaps far more significant longer term.
I was just trying to stimulate a bit of debate by my comments,
watched yesterday's conference call with Nick and very impressed -
all on the TATE IR site for anyone interested, just requires
a brief registration form to watch.

Are you shorting by any chance lol
The answer to your question is not really
I think this will get bought out in the near future and he his surplus too requirements!!
He also knows this and has probably taken a golden handshake?
I am confident this will command 750 after all the payouts
If it even gets that far most shareholders would except 800+ now

Do you not have any concerns about the CFO sudden departure?

So adeg is giving the worst case scenario !!
Plus the market has not taken into account, the patent pending low sodium salt, that will be a game changer for Tate
All this for 565 pennies amazing price
The divi from New co is not guaranteed
on an annual basis - TATE very careful in
the wording around that - remember TATE
will not have operational control.
Adeg
You have missed the divi from the New.co
Close to 20 X ?.
Current price is £6.80. The £500m special Dividend is circa £1.06 to come off this along with a 9p initerim announced today, so base price is now £5.65.
They are saying the annual dividend will reduce by 50% per share following the transaction, so this would be circa 15p giving a new yield of 2.65%.
The new yield looks a little low but the view is that they can increase this as their new products and acquisitions grow.
With the volatility in the SP is is a great stock to average down on.
Could have ridden 540 up to 700 even 814 if you held on and many spikes and drops in between. A dream to average down and be active with this one as spikes like today hapeen frequently.
Certainly plenty of opportunities with the timing to get sub £5 average net cost and what a dividend payer it has been.
Still plenty of potential here IMHO

Not a recommendation, nor advice.
A divi cut of 50% + what we get from NewCo + £1 special divi.
We need to know what the NewCo portion will be.
Presumably they are using the rest of the money to reduce debt and make acquisitions?
What not to like is the concept of splitting the Group into two. So far £60m and counting has been spent of our money on bloodsucking professional fees. And into the bargain a huge divi cut to come. The fact that the share price has been drifting South for months now says it all.
I'm no expert but they look good to me.
Divi up a smidge, what is not to like?
THe should have Sold 100% of primary products,
the market now has difficulty valuing TATE.
Seems mad price, considering We are selling half of part of the business for 1.3B.
I could be wrong but from the RNS above it looks like the Share Consolidation ratio could be 5 for 6.
Hopefully we’ll get a statement about the details of Special divi and share consolidation at the Half Yearly results in 2 weeks time on 04/11/2021.
my views on Tate are similar:
1. Once it splits it should result in a much higher margin business and a rerating
2. Timing seems very lucky - when this was first mooted inflation wasn't seem as a big threat. Now it is and commodities or near commodity type businesses are likely to thrive given pricing power and I include Tate
3. Once it splits, I think that it will be firmly in fray for M&A activity as in likelihood of being bid for. To counter that, they need to bulk up, and fast, so watch for splurge of M&A.
Meantime, it is paying a decent but not obscene divi
I concur MaryBr190

Adding here at these levels, surprised not heading to £8 rather than £6.
Still always happy to be patient while collecting chunky dividends.

Now that the resolution has been approved, tell us the Ratio of the share consolidation so we know how much you want to rip us off Mr Hampton
Expecting great things here.
The slides show the upside potential and Berenger see 855 - 950 target. Plus dividends worth getting.
Here is the presentation as a reminder
