Thanks for that Myo....
Myo - question, the photo of the inner service shaft shows an ingress of water -
Is this a problem and if so any idea how is it to be dealt with
Many thanks Yellow..
O.R let's say Stella rose averaged 22m a day from this point onwards, it would take 990 days to complete the full tunnel herself...that's 2.9 years from today which would be August 2022. I think it's safe to say we'd need the tunnel a bit sooner than that. Plus I think that daily average would slowly start to slip when the segment truck has to drive past 11 miles back and forth too. 2 would half that time. We can definitely get away with 2....1, I'm not so sure on : /
keller still their i work for keller but not on this site no intentions of leaving anytime soon
The other option is a continuous miner/bolter... not as fast but doesn’t need the set up time and costs of building a launch chamber.
They used both approaches at the Selby super pit and the TBM only overtook at the 7km mark. And that was from the service. Underground launch is even more problematical for the TBM.
By the time they have sunk the shaft and opened the base for a gripper tbm Stella rose will be well on the way if the cut rate keeps improving.:-)
Hi Mr Rascal -
yes 2x TBM was confirmed in Strategic Review. The linkedIn post today is the first operational update on their news feed for over 4 months. It's nice to see information flowing again through other channels.
With regard to one TBM - this I guess would be possible, but it would significantly reduce the time if Drive 3 still goes ahead from Woodsmith. Better is it was ahead of schedule. Then the tunnel would be completed somewhere mid way between Woodsmith and Lockwood. I'm assuming (looking at the timelines in the Strat Review) this activity is planned to coincide with completion of the shafts... with the most efficient balance of timescale vs expense.

I thought it (2 x TBMs) was confirmed on Monday.
I just wonder if they could use just one (TBM) and line ALL of the tunnel. Worth investigating if there are any further delays to the project.
OR
OR...
Strabag have confirmed today only 2 TBM's needed. See my thread 'LinkedIn' I posted a link.

The gripper saves the transportation of a lot of concrete segments.
If the spoil is to be sent to Teesport it’ll need to be stored at Woodsmith. I reckon it’ll be Stella Rose all the way.
OR
I think the gripper would be ideal if they use mesh steel frame and shotcrete. Much faster process compared to the pre cast
Sorry Myo a badly written post from me as usual ,
I had considered two TBMs also ,it was more that it may be a totally different machine (can't remember what they called it )
soly about the spelling, my keyboard is worn out, i'm printing from memoly.
ffcmember, yeah, but I liked the video, could even have gone to number one for exmas.
Tuckupp it seems to always be a thread that the bashers are involved in maybe they don’t like it when they are losing an argument and don’t want it in their history ?? I don’t think there has been
anything particularly bad discussed today ?
OR
The reason I’d have liked one drive is that we could see Stella comeing out the other end !!!! When I’ve seen pictures of the a tbm emerging out of the tunnel it just made it feels like we will be missing out on that. Not that I’m emotionally attached with my investment you understand !!!! Lol
lots of posts been removed today.
Drive 3 (I don’t think they’ll rename it Drive 2 as Stella Rose will complete Drives 1 and 2) is a less sturdy tunnel, offsetting performance to make cost savings. When in full cash-printing mode I hope we don’t rue the decision.
I think any more delays and they’ll settle for just one TBM. At 40m per day Stella Rose could reach Woodsmith by 2022/3 - depending on downtime for maintenance.
OR
Yes that’s the one Myo.
I don’t offer go to the media pages as no matter if I go for ascending or descending I never think they are in any sort of order.
Btw what do you think about changing the TBM for drive two. Whatever it takes I guess but a shame to go second class all the same ?

“MM's have capped the SP at 3.204.”
——-
So how does that work on a SETS traded stock?
per ardua ad astra
# of Trades 69
Vol Sold 1,750,818
Vol Bought 2,542,496
The stock is oversold - has been since Monday.
MM's have capped the SP at 3.204.
Trades are going thro - all above this price - but it remains un-moved.
They will have to release it at some pont - I think.
However - it remained like this - all yesterday.
So - the SP defies gravity.
No great issues on L2

Bellers HL don't have them so I suspect a problem on the LSE site ?
HL do show 1 large sell 864,000 shares at 08:14 so although the sells outweigh the buys apparently, if the 864,000 is taken out if the equation many more buys than sells today so far.
Paired buys and sells a few lines apart. Been like that from the open.
