Greta post tradermo. Very clear and concise. Everyone who can should vote in person. If not then by proxy. Individual votes count, not just the number of votes (this wil be decided two ways and both ways have to pass - they need 75% of the shares that vote AND they need more than 50% of the individuals to vote in favour)
to get your vote to count in court you need to do is as follows,
1) Ask your broker or whoever holds your shares in their nominee account to take ONEshare out of your account and issue you with a share certificate. You will need your IVC number to arrange for a proxy vote that can be used in court. (I think IVC means Individual Investor Code for the share)
2) the Registrar for the company is Link Asset Services https://www.linkassetservices.com/shareholders-and-investors/shareholder-services-uk Contact them and ask them for the proxy vote paperwork. It should take less than 24 hours for them to have your IVC number if they don’t just call them again until they do. Do not wait to receive the certificate in the post to get your IVC number phone them later on in the day or 9am the next morning and ask them for the proxy vote paperwork. Be persistent and make sure it is done properly
3) find someone who is going to the court, and you can trust and ask them to vote on your behalf.
4) You will have to send to the proxy an original letter giving them the right to vote on your behalf. Send Royal Mail Special Delivery or First class Signed for. They will have to take it to the court to prove they have the right to vote on your behalf.
You now act and count as one vote in the court proceedings.
Perhaps you should contact ShareSoc to find out if there is a trustworthy person who can vote on your behalf. Remember your individual vote counts, if you have a share certificate.
Time is of the essence so act now
Wishfull77 - I share your comments 100%. I am a local pensioner who has lost >£100k when I add it all up. But I won’t be brain-washed or ‘soft soaped’ by CF’s current contrived press interview. Posted my VOTE NO today.
It is interesting to see the Odey intervention, and I sense that this is not over yet.
A better offer than 5.5p would be welcome - but not nearly as much as a chance for PI’s to continue to have a stake in this project for the long term.
I ,too, am a man of principle, and cannot accept CF walking away with a cushy job and £7m in his back pocket. Not when he would willingly leave all the loyal local PI’s royally shafted. Screw ‘i’m.
Great post. I think your reasons for investing reflect that of many of the PIs.
Makes you feel like a mug, doesn't it? No comfort at all, but don't take it personally - many experienced professional investors have also been caught out by this. Remarkable state of affairs.
Good luck.
I still hold over a million shares, did have a lot more not so long ago, I've already lost far too much of my pension fund and feel pretty stupid for doing so. I believed in the story, did my homework, from the Fortescue story, to studying each member of the board. I think the current Sirius board should be replaced, they have not been working with the shareholders best interests at heart for some time, if ever. I believe alternative solutions could have been found, maybe still can with a different board. I stand to lose the remaining amount invested, but I am a man of principles unlike Chris Fraser it seems. The shareholders deserve a chance to benefit from the massive profits this mine will one day realise, selling it for half its current value and cutting out the existing shareholders, (for a 20th of it true value) once in production is criminal. Fraser should be ashamed of himself, for not doing what he said he could, or at least trying his best. Bailing out looking after himself is showing his true colours. However I accept that administration is likely if we vote no, but still find myself compelled to do so.
So there you go, another stupid investor, believing in this country’s ability to better its self, supporting the Northeast’s business opportunities, and hoping to have improved my Pension, provide much needed Jobs and help the country to become once again self-sufficient in its industries including its ability to feed its self without relying on Euro land or beyond.
Make your own decisions, do your own research, and stick to your principles, even if it hurts. Probably make me poorer, but at least I can sleep at night knowing I tried and didn’t rip anyone else of too feather my own nest!
