Stuart2019,
Fully agree with your explanation on the position re shorts. One of the best posts over several days. The danger is that several posters on this board through lack of knowledge of hedging (and shorting) mechanisms post dangerous rubbish creating uncertainty and fear and others read their
tripe as fact. The ghouls of the night who pop up in times of fear and uncertainty on the Sirius evolution don’t create anything like the damage caused by some of the LTHs who post garbage.
This ship is heading in one direction and I would encourage PIs to watch the build progress. The directors would run the risk of an unlawful trading charge (with attendant potential director disqualification sanctions) if they are currently incurring financial liability to contractors without any reasonable prospects of being able to meet those debts.
My view - do your own research
understand that sailer chief. same for me was thinking another £4k worth last week but would like to be around to enjoy it. family would think i was just wasting money.
Shorters (well hedge funds) don't buy shares, they borrow them and only activity recently has been loan recalls and equity swaps because loaned shares have not been sold. That means that they borrowed them but decided it was not a good idea to sell. Shorted shares peaked at 9% in May and have since been reducing to just under 6% - the only hedge fund still increasing it's short position is Black Rock and Citadel Europe (21 and 14th August respectively). The largest short position is held by Highbridge Capital management (2.6%) and they have been progressively closing their position since May when they peaked at 3.5%. It is worth noting that they opened their positions back in March 2018 when the price was 30p so a lot of profit made!
No Max, don't worry at all...I've bought a few recently but unfortunately not on that scale! I am adding when, as an OAP I can afford to. My only worry about Sirius is not that we will be very well off eventually but that I 'm still around to go SKI ing!!
Yellow
Thanks for that, I feel a little reassured. Actually a lot reassured because you are right. I am an LTH.
I’m off to see my daughter in Canada for two weeks on Monday. I’m thinking about not checking the price again until I get back. But will I have the willpower?
ATB. Yellow, and once again thanks!
Hi Max - relax, unless you have short term aspirations the shorters can’t harm you - all in good time this episode will pass and your investment in this fantastic project will repay you many, many times over.
Let me put this into context in case anyone gets the wrong idea. This morning I bought another 50,000 shares which brings me up to nearly 400,000.
What if a lot of those buys that drove the price north were the II Shorters?
They move the price up sharply helped by people like me who didn’t want to miss the boat. They sell what thy bought at the top and then use their short shares on Tuesday to drive the price right down sharply.
Please somebody tell me this can’t be right!
A very worried Max, who may shortly have to change his name to Minimum!
