Nice 10 year hold this one.
Dividend trim possible.
Maybe their r&d budget is sufficient but I'm sure there were projects with good internal IRR that were mothballed when some of the money could have been poured into instead.
But then again I hate buybacks. I always feel like it is done for management's bonus KPI's
Members of the board please note
Cash reserves are used to GROW a company at an exponential rate , not SHRINK it !
That is NOT , I repeat NOT in the shareholders interest. Maybe you should step aside .
Sold my holdings .. DYOR
Which word of that's just stupid don't they understand .
They have committed to reduced the equity base by $70 million ( nearly 18 % ) and their cash reserves by the same ( 35 % !!!!!) reducing their share holder base by just 3 %
How on earth can a reckless transaction like that be in the best interests of shareholders for a supposed growth company going forward !!!!!!
This came as news to me but WiFi7 is being rolled out. It’s very fast and it makes the “internet of things” a real possibility. No doubt Spirent will have a lot of work in their inbox over coming years.
Nice couple of million quid buys.
The out of hours TR1 Friday was Aviva PLC reducing there holding from 10.7% to 10.52%
Not sure why an insurance business would have such a large stake in this but surely never going to buy it out!
Another tech firm might though
Seem to have a 7% rise then fall back then rise again then another fall all in thenlast hour. TR1 issued Friday.
Shares are up 9% this morning and steadily climbing over two weeks. Any one know any better?
Nothing wrong with taking a profit, I’m happy to keep buying here as I feel only a matter of time before this is in play and expecting the approach at £2+ ,patience will pay….
I'm out now at 100p. A small profit is a profit; at least I got
back part of my loss on this one earlier in the year.
I've followed him but not as many
GLA
Anyone notice the dips after market opens? Did it yesterday and today it was 5% then back up.
Agreed ,SPT must be on a few radars and it’s days of independence are numbered, great time to pounce as well with it’s v depressed level and a decent balance sheet
Keysight are very interested in the AI work that Spirent are doing with networking, this matches the work that Keysight are doing in this space and their research into 6G AI networks.
However takeover is speculation, hence the question mark in the title.
However, this would be an amazing takeover for Keysight, buy Spirent for £1b, roll the companies together for cost savings and market consolidation.
Can you post the source please.
Perfect synergies, and consolidates their market position.
Could we see a takeover for £1b?
Lots of tech, IP, and Client Contracts to be had.
Would expect a US takeover bid to land soon with the share price where it is.
200 would be a reasonable target for the major holders to approve and push it through.
Lots of key tech in the 5G and WiFi, plus market access to key international data systems.
This is a perfect takeover to get key tech IP, gain lucrative clients, and access international data infrastructures.
Taking in account all assets and contracts looking at 200 a share as fair value, and to make the major holders happy.
The company certainly needs management who don’t mislead investors with promises of jam tomorrow.
*pounce
Shares mostly owned by investment funds now, and they will want a takeover to make profit and have cash.
As such, any decent offer around 200 a share would potentially be considered.
Would expect a takeover offer to be made soon while the price is still low.
There has been years of talk of take overs...if there was interested parties, surely this would be the time to pounch.
Price where it is, could see a takeover bid coming by another tech company to get all the companies IP and Contracts
Buys of 250,000 shares may see a TR-1 soon.
