Well.. that shot up. (understandably)
A very strong update...I added yesterday by pure chance. The very high dividend looks secure.
Fantastic. New high today i would imagine.
Buys coming in at £4.30.
Last week it was less than £4
Im not complaining, just surprised.
This is definately a LTH for me (unless it goes to more than £6 overnight) average price paid £2.20.
A lot of the ups / downs are a result of the large spread which is a product of the small volumes traded . This share is tightly held for good reasons.
Thanks for the info Jaco most interesting

because it's a good company at good value and quality, Stockopedia has it on a stock rank of 98 out of 100, that's very high
Why is the share price popping?
Awesome. Thanks for explaining.
Hi Benbay001 - Surprised no-one has enlightened you regarding the use of plywood in high rise construction. When pouring concrete for each floor, it needs to be contained until hardened and cured. Shuttering or formwork is the term used for creating a box-like container into which the concrete is poured. Following the hardening process the plywood which forms the base of the box needs to be taken down - hence the development of this incredibly useful machine which no doubt allows more of the recovered plywood to be used on the next floor. Reduced waste = cost saving.
Look at the video and notice the jacks used to hold the plywood shuttering in place until the new concrete floor is completed:-

Hi all, I have written a new article for my website on Somero, looking at the recent results, financial metrics and the macroeconomic backdrop, which looks pretty favourable in the US currently. Available here: https://www.thetwentiestrader.com/post/somero-foundations-for-growth
Been to US just the once ,stayed in a new build very attractive 4 bed detached house in Las vagus . Not a brick to be seen ,the house seemed to be constructed out of wood and plasterboard ,not built to last imo. Cannot remember what the roof was like but I would not be surprised if it had boards for a roof . Seems to me that they could use semi skilled labour in the construction process and the skystrip machine would be very useful.
The lack of a large fall today probably reflects the value to be had here and the fact that the shares are tightly held and traded in low volumes.

Today is ex-dividend, right?
But the price hasnt reflected the 22p after tax dividend.
Great!
Announced today

I love the innovation of this company, but i cant quite work out what this is for. Anyone care to explain why a building would have boards on the roof?
infrastructure package if passed into law could do this company a lot of favors .
The directors are already very positive about the outlook , things may yet get a whole lot better .
I have two building material supplier type stocks, SOM being largely US based are a safer bet than STCM (which is more of a producer and in Kazakhstan I think) but both pay handsome dividends and are set to make record earnings in 2021.
SOM follow a more stable policy of ordinary dividends based on the level of profit+ a special dividend of half of cash balances in excess of $20 million.
Performance was better than expected generating $31 million cash and leaving net $35 million in the bank. Dividends of 34.91c were paid in 2020 (FY dividend: 16.81 cents a share + special: 18.1 cents) although only 24.5c are forecast this year due to expected share buybacks.
Great set of results and love the dividend + special dividend, worth approx. 22p/share.
At 360p this is a 6% return.
I've noticed this morning that someone is dumping 5000 share blocks around 350p, so share price may dip a bit.
- I will probably add (and average up) if share price dips over next few weeks on low volume,
Goes ex dividend 9th April, pays out 30th April

Couldnt agree more. Is there anything not to love about Somero?
Commendable results for FY2020 - excellent dividend of US0.3 declared - confident outlook - major beneficiary IMO of Joe B's reflation programme.
Could (& should) go through £4 today.
Ha! I've always rued the decision not to follow Rivaldo out when he sold in March '19 at nearly £4! :). Only just getting back there now. I usually top up when there's a big fall in a company I believe in, but missed it here. Double rue! Still, I'm up 3%!! Lol. Mustn't grumble.
As you say, it seems a good company, and I can see just a bit of Biden's 2 trillion dollars making its way in this direction.
Ruing my decision to sell out a small holding at 293p a few weeks back. I was too tempted to pocket the 60% gain.
Lesson to learn: When you've got a good company, just hold and hold and hold!
Would love to get back to SOM at some point. In the meantime, good luck to all shareholders. This is a good company and that is rare!
yep, still going !
Another fab rns!
This company is the best at writing trading statements!!
With Biden now having taken the Senate as well I expect his aggressive green infrastructure plans will benefit Somero. Almost everything uses concrete, and a great deal of infrastructure needs renewal.
And it won't do any harm to show main street America that Democrats spending money benefits the the gun-toting hard man in the street.
derampers so scared at syme ,of a big move up here .when they so scared they release
fake article ,which poster quickly emailed to find Fake article
After seeing 10 ,000,000 share buy Today
