smickster you are missing the point, because you get half an idea and then hit the keyboard...
CD is suggesting voting all four DIRECTORS off, not key staff (although Jason is one).
Thats like Rangnick coming into United and getting rid of Ferguson and the Glazers, not Carrick, McKenna, Phelan and Fletcher... (and I personally don't think he'll get rid of all of those either BTW...)
smickster...instead of dissing my decision, why don't you read the cogent reasons I have put forward to support my decision
In short, I'm arguing that the 'Old Guard' has failed us.
Last year NM got 55% and Clare 65% while the Independent Directors got 99%.
Doesn't that tell you something?
I want them replaced by truly independent Directors to give Darryl the best chance to implement his own strategy to maximise the monetary value of this company which has dragged in the doldrums except for the occasional hiatus, for at least 4.1/2 years...
On May 25 2017 the share price was 46.5...it would take a 111% price rise just to regain that all time high and now people are talking about accepting a bid not much higher than that, if at all...
And who is to blame for that?
NOT Elodie, Kevin, Keith or Maria...they have steadied the ship and finally been allowed to appoint a credible CEO...
In the meantime, it is the Chairman who is destabilising the price by publicly attacking a minor fund manager and the easy target of BHP...
Did you see the Chairman attacking Cornerstone last year?
I do NOT want BHP to take over, but the present Board is nowhere near independent while there are tow non-Executives that could never be described as independent and a weak, compliant Chairman who is not prepared to implement the Governance that HE approved in August 2020, either last year or this, and put the whole Board up for re-election.
Do you HONESTLY think BHP could take over, with NCM, CGP, NM, DGR, Tenstar and Blackrock voting against such a move...?
There needs to be a statement made this AGM because only half the job was done last year. Thats why I am voting against the two remaining 'Old' Board Directors, but NOT against Jason who Darryl will need, alongside a new CFO and Ingo.
Isn't that what we all want...a Board who are all pulling in the same direction rather than pulling backwards ll the time...?
Not true at all CD.
Quite often it is assessed by the new manager and quite often some staff are kept.
Crazy idea to just get rid of all without knowing their attributes....maybe next year would be different.
"You won't get a footy manager coming in and working with the old managers staff or team. The lot go. The new staff team come in and they deliver what they are good at. Darryl is handicapped from the start working with a team that has failed"
Perfectly put CD. Vote all four down, start afresh, giving Darryl a clean slate.
We can’t expect things to change with the same board in place.
We should all vote to keep in current board as Red is here daily to vote out BM and LT.
It's quite clear he does not have pi interests in mind.
If it was not for his constant talking down of the above mentioned board members I may have actually considered 1 or 2 for the chop however he works to hard for their removal.
Very deceitful is our red Imo
There are claims that the virus could be started outside China, to find out the origin, all possible sources should be investigated. Spain was wrongly blamed for the Spanish flu, to prevent same mistake, Ford Detrick in USA and other possible sources must also be targets for investigation.
Virus mutates non stop, it is impossible to eliminate virus mutation, political blame game and finger pointing resolve nothing. When Covid 19 ended, there will be Covid 20, 21, 22...........,
Important to find out the Covid 19 origin, its equally important to learn how to successfully deal with pandemics when they happen. Sadly, all focus is on find out WHO TO BLAME.
If you catch a cold, is it more important to find out where you got the cold from or to stop spreading the cold in your family or to your friends?
Addi
Totally agree with you observations
Please...the only virus we should be talking about is the idiot trolls that keep popping up here, despite LSE's vaccines...
I totally agree DBW...right on the money IMO...
Agreed Bob...
Moller has earned a lot of money from SOLG...
He is tainted by the failures culminating in last year's AGM
He has only one Committee role and that is the Committee that held up the CEO appointment for 10 months..and Twigger had the casting vote...
He adds nothing and gets £82,000...its an easy hit to get rid of him and IMO Twigger is too associated with all the disappointments we've had...
kat, according to Quady's argument Fauci is simply another of the 'buffoons' - along with many other scientists who are keeping an open mind.
It's interesting that Q's style of debate is always for him to find someone who supports his pre-disposition and to then roundly rubbish and insult anyone who may have an alternative opinion. And rather oddly he seems to think all scientists are expert in all branches of science, when quite patently they are not. It's a pity really - he is sometimes quite right in what he says, but he diminishes his argument by an arrogant and aggressive style which reveals himself as being anything other than open to reasoned discussion.
More and more is coming out and I feel the reason for the coverup is because America and China both have questions to answer and the coverup in some ways is worse than the crime. If I had lost loved ones I would want answers
https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-covid-lab-leak-theory-just-got-even-stronger/amp
A few months back there was a tv documentary that explored where the virus could have come from. The documentary pointed in the direction of a small mine in China that had a bat population, 6 miners contracted a lung disease, 3 died. The documentary from memory, made links that samples from the miners where taken to Wuhan lab.
The rest is history.
Could all of course be propaganda.
Sorry but do you believe a word from WHO - don't they suck up to China -look who is a goodwill ambassador
https://nypost.com › 2020/05/21 › c...
Chinese President Jinping's wife is a WHO 'Goodwill Ambassador'
Thanks for stating the obvious for us colonel. I think most people knew that
Just to clear this up once and for all, Quady.
Dr Anthony Fauci has confirmed in a CNN interview that he cannot confirm or rule out that the virus came from a lab leak or not. Open mind is required here.
https://nypost.com/2021/06/03/fauci-rejects-claims-he-was-told-covid-may-have-been-engineered/
" “I have always said, and will say today … I still believe the most likely origin is from an animal species to a human, but I keep an absolutely open mind, that if there may be other origins of that there may be another reason, it could have been a lab leak,” he continued. "
Good grief SharketMare and Colonel.
Where do you get this rubbish.
It's just not true, read the Who report which was briefly explained in Nature magazine link which I posted earlier.
The WHO say it did not come from a Chinese lab, that this is transmitted to humans by an animal carrier, that it probably was not a bat as other carriers have been found which more closely identify with the first Human strains.
Quady, it is highly probable that Covid was accidentally leaked from the Chinese lab in Wuhan where they were doing research on coronaviruses that could be transmitted to human. This is broadly accepted now across the scientific community as the most probably source of the virus.
If you believe that the epicentre of a coronavirus pandemic just so happened to be in one of I think 3 or 4 cities where they are doing such research, then I have a bridge to sell you.
Have a read of this: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/06/the-lab-leak-theory-inside-the-fight-to-uncover-covid-19s-origins
Thank you DBW, I don't need to read back, I will take your word.
I was looking through postings on the last two days, and we have a new loony called slug, who thinks Covid was started in a Chinese lab and that all doctors know that.
What utter rubbish.
No I agree with you DBW, I don't see any reason to be down in the mouth.
You either believe in the company in which case you hold, or you don't in which case you sell.
Only if you are upset with your investment and you don't accept responsibility for your investment decisions, do you moan.
I did explain my thoughts on the Rio rns but let's forget about it.
Q that’s the point …. It could be anything and that may be a possibility…… it’s all about opinions and guesswork….. but the idea of not being optimistic about a share one’s invested in seems ridiculous to me ( you’ll have to read back a bit to this morning)
“ If you want to think Aringaga was a great success, that's up to you, I would imagine most people would not”
Where did I say that ?
I said if your conclusion ( probably correct) is that aquinaga wasn’t reported is because it’s a duster .
Then why ( if leopards don’t change their spots) did they RNS Rio halfway down the first hole ?
It’s fairly simple
Thanks happy Harry, you too. Stay happy.
Dreamboat; the hallmark of a good invester is to weight up both sides of the coin.
I think you are misunderstanding me.
If you want to think Aringaga was a great success, that's up to you, I would imagine most people would not. That's not about having an agenda that's about the results from the drill bit. I'm not saying they don't report results; I'm saying the style in which they do it depends on the result itself.
We hear on here all the time that Tier 1's are very rare( they are)
We also hear from the same people that with Rio; Agi, Shrag, polv etc etc We will be sitting on 3, 4 tier 1's
By definition you can't have it both ways. Because Alpala is so good and they are so rare. The chances are the others won't be that good. If they are great, but let's keep it real.
Something about $4bn to be invested in mining over next 5 years
DBW it could be that CGP is going to get a 15% share in the Alpala mine, and the reason for contentment in the CGP camp, is that we are going to allow CGP to become part of the funding and so we can raise money against 100% of Alpala as opposed to 85%.
