Fort, as a GGP investor that scenario is one I'd be very happy to see play out. I reckon Wyloo would snap up the 70% of Hav in a heartbeat and be a much friendlier JV partner given their existing stake in GGP.
Apologies for off topic.
Jerry... if NM get NCM, they might get shot of Haverion stake too. Not sure whether NM want to acquire copper assets but most miners seem keen on what should be the hottest metal around in a few years as shortage looms. They might prefer to retain some copper exposure and reduce on small mines like Haverion.
1/2 for me. That's bad enough.
Monte - it's all fair game as long as nobody takes it too far. You admit that yourself. I think that's a good place to leave it.
You're entitled to stick to your opinion on value destruction, but that's all it is. It's not backed up by any facts, any evidence, etc. We can revisit this retrospectively when we know the outcome of the strategic review. Rather ironically I need an auction to support my point and the opposite for yourself which kind of goes against the two strategies we've actually supported during the last few years.
Mining typo there apols dam autocorrect!!!
Exciting week ahead , isn't that the usual speech? :))
2 things you would not want to be at the moment, out of this and a Man u supporter.

How do people see this week going?

My style is to make a statement about what I'm thinking. If I ridicule others it's in defence after they have tried to do it to me.
I won't naturally put someone down without good reason, unfortunately I do have a tendency to retaliate once I've been bitten.
So if you read through my posts I'm pretty sure you will find provocation.
And I do stick by my opinion of value destruction,
( by the way,It's got nothing to do with age) I'm middle aged.
Anyway let's not bore the board anymore.
Monte - when you say it cost us dearly, what you meant to say is that it cost you dearly, or maybe some of you that fall into a certain (age) demographic.
If you think that ridiculing those you debate with is worthless then why do you do it? Have a read dog your posts - there's certainly an element of it. I have no problem with anyone ridiculing myy views by the way - I think it's all part of the game and the fun as long as it is done in the right way.
As for my tone, I'm really not sure what to say. I can't see it. As I say, nothing is ever personal. I really don't know what I've said that is condescending. I'm fact, it's the sort of thing that leads to certain people calling others woke and snowflakes, IMHO.
The production scenario became more and more unlikely as the company loaded up on an extra royalty deal and the cost of capital raise, but that doesn't mean I didn't think it was the right strategy to pursue. In fact, compared with a couple of MREs and a firesale, I was much happier to roll the dice on trying to develop Cascabel ourselves. The only ones who disagree with that are the ones who wanted the asset and the company effectively flipped as soon as the majors joined the register, but neither the company or it's officers intimated that was the plan.
I can't answer your last two questions until we receive offers and neither can you. That's part of the issue. We can trumpet a sale all we like but one has never materialised and for that reason we've had no option but to continue development, advertise the asset, etc.
The final point I'd like to make is that those favouring a sale have never shown any interest in a production case. They've focused on the negatives such as a lack of available capital, geopolitical challenges and a lack of mining expertise, when in actual fact the econonic case for building and operating a mine far far exceeds the mean sale price that shareholders believe we can achieve.
Argentina and Peru I wouldn't buy a single share in any mining company there least Ecuador is well balanced ATM mining friendly tax in centipede etc just need that buyer to come out with h an offer
They you have it puruvian blockade on copper mining roads ,I did day south America avoid it
If NM get NC, and I think it’s odds on that they will, i think they will have their hands full with the further developed assets in the joint portfolio. So my guess is that it will be sold to the first person who offers a mkt price.
Define "advancing".
DM ….my view has always been that whatever the “strategic review “ brings about ( or not ) will be pre decided. There’s no way the merger would have happened unless all parties had already agreed a common path moving forward . I doubt production was even touted as an option.
Nice to see the price making some sort of a recovery although still pitiful
Also got to remember that the extra year or two on Alpala studies were essentially based on Tandy - bolt on exploration. That will add significant value and options going forward and help with selling or jv's or IPO's of the asset. But we've also had some dilution along the way which has offset that value accretion which is not ideal but par for course when you stretch things out.
I think they want to avoid updating market on Tandy progression along with other Alpala works as do not think it adds any value with inflation backdrop right now... hence why there is no PFS2 on the table. But when inflation drops back, all the numbers look much much better. I guess that's the potential loaded gun to any buyers head who thinks sitting on their hands is a good strategy. The reality is, Alpala is not likely to get any cheaper going forwards as right now. Most asset sales tend to look forward but there is a great deal of strong arm tactics placed on near tern debt costs as well as metal prices and inflation etc. Mad really as none of these elements are a factor until mine development commences in 2024/25.
Sorry DinnerMoney, but it was announced as the best way to advance Cascabel.
I suspect that people like DBW and Redknight say that the strategic review will never happen, because it doesn't suit their argument or mindset.
But otherwise everyone on here knows it's about the best way to advance Cascabel.
Morning Darren since 2015 it has always been solgolds stated aim to bring Alpala to production.
Let's see what the strategic review says, as this is about the best way to advance Cascabel.
Monte ,I wouldn't touch a single mine in Argentina ,full of political disputes ,strikes , disruption and corruption ,taxed to the hilt
Fort hello. I agree completely !

Q. I have never agreed with your opinion to be honest, it is quite the contrario to mine. But nothing wrong with that. I respect your perspective but simply disagree! Whichever way this goes I just hope we can all get a good exit!

Go to the SOLG website, look at latest presentation, page 5. Just look how massive Alpala is. Even Porvenir features on that list among discoveries from Rio Tinto and others.
Agree - SOLG are fundamentally an explorer and you've got another great asset there building in Porvenir. But all these exploration projects require derisking before you can flog it. To get best price you need to get a couple MRE's out and a PEA. PFS would be nice but not always required for early stage sale.
So being an outright explorer also includes some project development/planning stages. They take time and money.
But no one should underestimate the size of SOLG's prize asset. Not many like it on this planet.
Q that has always been my gripe with this company, dont pretend to be something you are not! Accept what you are, and they are good explorers! Explore, find and sell or JV !! Thats why I invested, it remains to be seen if that will happen.
Anyway all the best to everyone sincerely.

Hi Q. But wouldnt you accept such an offer for Cascabel? LEt whoever have it, and lwe can move on as an exploration company?
