wow... just as demand is going to soar now covid issues over... Chile output drops. Ouch. Perfect storm.
Perhaps SOLG might be better selling 'later' in the year when PM's are doing cartwheels and copper fever at large?? Or perhaps interested buyers might want to get their bids in now rather than wait until PM price chaos.
"To add to woes, Chile, the world’s largest copper producer, said its state-owned mining company Codelco expects output to shrink by 7% in 2023.
This is on top of a 10.6% decline in output in 2022." END
For those investors that like examples of similar companies with assets for development or sale etc take a look at Condor Gold. CNR.L.
This is not ramp or plug for CNR at all. I'm not a holder. But if you look at the asset and process that the company has been through, then you'll see obvious correlations with SOLG.
Even on a chart basis, there are similarities. Whilst the Market caps differ, you can see the stock hit lows and bottom around same period as SOLG. Ironically (just coincidence) but the share price is similar too. In July 22, CNR was 35p levels. Then dipped down to 15p levels. Company announced Strategic Review and then followed that with plan to sell the asset. Then confirmed they were in talks with multiple companies and NDA's signed etc etc. Stock is now testing 33p which is not far off July 22 levels and that's before an offer is presented (or one might not be forthcoming or agreed etc).
So take a look and you can see a pattern of the process in play already.
If SOLG were to follow suit, then we'd hear outcome of SR is to sell and they are in talks with multiple parties etc. Share price should be around 35p on that basis. That's a hunch of course. But CNR one to keep any eye on simply to see what the final offer and run up to the offer does to the sp.
'81, you may have missed a question I asked you earlier, which was deleted along with the rest of the thread: Why are you so certain a deal will not happen this year? I don't recall seeing any explanation from you - merely the constant reiteration.
Is it simply the case you believe that due to timing it will take that long to complete a transaction post-SR? Or are their other reasons?
Markets await USA inflation data and banks reporting this afternoon might see another blue finish
Yeah needalife, it was quite a long post. And I see it has been deleted.
This board is a joke. Admin are beyond the pale these days. I'm done here.

Talatum, you've hit the nail on the head. Nothing this side of Christmas, I'm afraid. But, all things going well, this will be subject to a TO bid in '24 or '25
Solid geology lesson from Bubble there! Do keep us updated on your latest thoughts, if your job at CERN permits.
He's right though. Solg hold lots of exploration tickets in Ecuador, and we're tiny which tells you just how under explored it is. It's a massively unexplored country with patches of very similar geography to the tastiest bits of LATAM. So there will undoubtedly be plenty of resources similar in scale to Cascabel. They won't all be found (as they haven't been concessions) or mines (because of mechanical practicalities, CapEx non-bals and local politics). Hence won't be assets.
"all this to me means they are discussing a sale of Alpala or of the whole company." magoo79, if it takes them this long just to discuss sale then god knows how long will they take to actually do something!
Red,not many if these exploration assets left in the world this size imho
For some reason beyond me this post was removed...
needalife...
1 Its 2023...2 years to 2025
2 When has Nick ever been 'desperate to sell'
3 M&A is kicking off
4 Many analysts think we've already begun another commodities supercycle
5 Copper is due a major rise, China is moving up and there is a forecast copper deficit later this year
6 Gold is close to an all-time high and majors are looking for copper/gold prospects
7 Experts believe the dollar is about to enter secular decline and commodities move in inverse correlation to the dollar
8 As you said "low 50s" is a guess...I beg to differ...
Good luck otherwise...
Rerating. Argghh!!!!!!
Relating. Typing in bed lol
Padmaster/copperpot. You really are losing the plot mate. Calm down dear. Yesterday I was kalbari, today I'm covgaz. Really mate your complete intolerance of any poster not following your line, is making you look silly. Tomorrow Mathew, I'm going to be the bogeyman. Woooooo
Onwards and upwards gla!!
Wow Sean. How long did that post take. You are correct mate I have held for a long time with my nose against the window. Like many many on here. Not smart like you unfortunately mate. But your post doesn't address any of the 7 points rk raised. Like you I also believe solg will eventually be taken out. But unlike you, I don't think it will be for anywhere near as much as many hope. I've now said many times, the figures being mentioned on here are beyond laughable.
We're on the rise again that's what. I've been here way longer than that. Plenty of t-shirts bought and worn daily. Seen huge daily gains as well as disappointments. I just feel the higher traded volumes are representative of a long awaited relating and if this is so, 22p can't be its end. GLA
Well Grundles, I haven't been out for the last 300 weekends, why whats happening ? lolzzz
..... to be out of these over the weekend
Magoo, not sure about the SR going AWOL. We've been told it will be completed by end June and personally, I'm not expecting any news prior to that ( I'll be delighted if something emerges beforehand, but I'm managing my expectations)
As for the other stuff, you're right; it's as if the company has been mothballed and although we've been told various things are ongoing, we've seen no evidence to suggest they are.
If nothing else, I was expecting to see something about closing various offices (London and Brisbane) and an explanation of further rationalization. Perhaps this will appear in the next MD&A?
We raised cash, execs feathered their nests, we stopped spending (no drilling mentioned in ages), no operational news for months, merger completed, strategic review gone AWOL: all this to me means they are discussing a sale of Alpala or of the whole company. It may take a few more weeks or months but this is where it's going. And it's not going for peanuts. Just keep accumulating and sit back.
70p paid in gold medallions with Nick's portrait
U needalife pal
Just for a bit of fun, let's start a game of guessing the share price when we sell.
My guess... 53p.
The sp is getting into the traditional or historic SOLG launch pad area. I think the stock has launched from low to mid 20's 3 or 4 times and each time passed 39p/40p levels.
Dilution has occurred over last couple of years but I think most recognise that the 100% ENSA stake post merger more than balances the books on that aspect. So 40p of old is like 40p today with 100% ENSA.
