needalife hi,
I am a LSE member now for 7 years (as you probably noticed anyway....) I have posted in many different forums over that period this one is my longer holding/posting, AND,I never changed my username (unlike some....) so this amount of 8200 is not much compared to some IMHO.
so,now you know.....
ATB .
needalife, I'm fully aware of the political risk and over the years have never been slow to refer to it. Neither do I think it's sensible to ignore it. But it needs to weighed against all other factors and sometimes I get the impression you focus too much on the negative, which, given the history of this company, is easy to do.
However, I'm putting my faith in what I believe is a totally different approach by our new management. This is not the old SOLG and I'm prepared to give them the time to deliver on their promises. If I wasn't, I'd have already sold.
covgaz, delighted to see that posters are reacting to my concern by calling me stupid. Very comforting to my worrying mind especially as the share price continues to drop & is now sub 19.
Max. Your more of a reader than poster you say. I wonder who posted them 8200 posts. No matter mate. Your one of the realists. Always enjoy reading your views
Thanks quady. Thank goodness your here. I ever understood a word of it, and gave up halfway through. Don't know if it's relevant but my dear old mum used to do our washing in an old copper. Then wring it out in a mangle. Every mo day. Then we would put the copper water in a tin bath for us all to bathe. Mum, dad, sister, 4 brothers then me. Horendous
Hey guys,
I am in general more of a reader here than a poster, however I am fully aware of the informative genuine regulars here and the ones with rather agenda posters.....at the end of the day none is making any difference to the price so take everything with a pinch of salt, and try to make the most of any useful information that you do get from time to time.....
GLA. genuine SOLGers.
I am truly amazed that no one on here understands what moves any commodity in either direction.
Just another piece of information that is out there.
It works like this.
Everyone I hope understands the basic principles of supply and demand.
But when in short supply the price does not keep increasing.
You have other downward pressures on the price.
For starters it depends what the commodity is being used for.
Will the product sell at the increased price.
If the answer is yes your supply continues in a contracted market.
However if it's no then the price can collapse as even though their is a shortage.
The market shrinks below the supply mark.
That's why BNC and I got it right when we Said gold would be around two thousand dollars an ounce today and the likes of colonelDrake and Redknight and others predicted between 5,000 to 10 thousand dollars an ounce.
They have no understanding, no matter how long they make there posts.
Copper can increase from current levels, but only if less of it is used in the end product.
Naturally inflation plays a part as well, but for the time being I cannot see copper exceeding 12,000 dollars per tonne.
Morning addict. Just come across this report. Written in February of this year.
"The arrival into Ecuador of Newcrest, Anglo American, BHP, CODELCO, Fortescue and others in 2016 and 2017 was a sign of trust in the country and eventually a sign of moving into becoming a mining country in replacement of the existing oil exports that may start to decline at some point.
However, recent aggressive opposition of local leaders and politicians and the uncertain signs given by the local judges and courts are probably slowing the pace of investment that the majors had made"
Just wondering what you think of it.
Careful, Max. You're talking common sense, which some people have a problem with.
It's interesting to see how frustration is turning into hysteria.
Max, thanks for reply. I agree with you 100%. I was responding to rk, daily telling us that copper price was rising, and forecast to continue upward. and that it was good news for solg. I simply pointed out, that the Australian government doesn't agree with him. It is as you say almost irrelevant to us,at this time, as we will never produce, and if we did we are many years away from production. But Let's hope we're sold long before
With respect the price of copper in 2024 is not relevant here really as we are not quite ready to produce....thereafter and the middle to longer term is what is more important, and even you will have to agree, increasing demand will take the price much higher than the short term expectations.
Redknight. I've just caught up with some of your optimistic posts. I read with interest your assertions that copper prices are rising, and going to rise in the future.
Funnily enough, I had just read the following report from the Australian government, regarding the future of copper. This is one paragraph.
"also suggested that prices may fall to US$7,900/t in 2024 as mine production grows and a weak global economic outlook threatens to affect copper growth."
Totally confused now. Who do take heed of, you or the Australian government. I will have to think about that one. Have a good day mate. And keep us upto date with your insightful posts and share dealing.
Tantalum that was for u , bubble @ 18.36 , thinks you're stupid
Bless Bubble , he or her seems Eva so clever ....
I actually think rednight needsalife
Talatum, it's not stupid. Unfortunately you've broken th 3 cardinal rules
1, never say anything negative.
2, never say anything negative.
3, never say anything negative.
Once you learn them, you can join the gang.
Being quite serious here , without any offer for a buyout , this company is totally f*cked , and all of my hard earned with it. You tweed suits and beige cords won't be so clever if it doesn't sell.
Bubble thinks you're stupid too btw
"Talatum why would you post something as stupid as that...." Redeknight1 Why is it stupid to worry about possible administration of a company that has given away shares at 17p. , is currently not doing much, cant get the SR moving , no sign of anyone wanting to buy it , and has need for huge capex without which it cant generate revenue? .
Spot on needa , nobody wants a company until it is cash stretched.. And with 600 employees , not to mention management , the cash won't last as long as we'd like. With no exploration taking place , there will be nothing to boost the share price. So the only way is down as the cash dwindles away. Unless of course we get a buyer. It doesn't seem like they are queuing up. Looking bleak.
All of us getting in a tizzy, Warren said this, Warren said that. Is this the same Warren, who went from the best thing since sliced bread, when he bought in, to the lowest of the low, when he outplayed mather. Now we hang onto his every word again. Are we that desperate.
And of course the company is up for bl**dy sale. Even blind freddy knows that. Problem is nobody wants it. Blind freddy knows that aswell.
I notice Ted Rodgers has his fingers on the trades too
Agreed Bozi. There seems to a lot of this company given away for 17p , why pay more? As you say , it needs to move quick otherwise there will some cash lost here.
Possibly CovGaz. There's only so many times a takeover can be pumped to the market. Eventually it stops believing.
If it hasn't happened by the end of Q2 then we'll have 12 months from that point. CGPs shares in SOLG won't be worth toffee if we get to H1 2024 and the company needs further funds. Nobody will pay a fair price for them given the distinct lack of operational activity.
Not quite Hail Mary territory yet but it's time for Bob to be smart if nothing else.
Are we headed back to the options price of 17p? I would not be surprised at all. A couple of 5%ers and we're there , and let's be honest , the 5% drop is pretty common around here.
Red because that's exactly what he is
