Yep, try and stretch that $48m as long as they can.
That means exploration drilling and newsflow is going to be constrained.
I'm intrigued to see how they are going to shorten the development timeframe and I'm even more intrigued to see how they intend to get the share price into the sort of area where they would be happy to sell the stock previously held by Cornerstone.
Strategy (away from the SR) remains as clear as mud.
Good morning addicknt, you may well be right.
However I thought they did a good job to reduce production costs in the last PFS, and from the sound of the strategic review, they are looking at reducing them further.
Don't know if you remember they were looking at an open cut with higher grade nearer the surface to get income rolling in.
From memory I believe it was Tandy.
I wonder if the strategic review is looking at this as an option.
Q, in my opinion Ingo was being economical with the truth. As I've said before, he may have have had expressions of interest, but no more than that. We are not in a position to get commitments now, let alone three years ago.
Good morning Italian.
I was referring to this part.
Management is internally evaluating a phased approach to the development of Cascabel with the intent to reduce upfront capital and shorten the development schedule.
Also if we can get the start up costs to just over 1 billion.
Then when Ingo was around, he said we have that sum of money ready to go.
Agreed you would normally require a BFS after a DFS.
But their are other ways to fund Cascabel.
Yo yo strategy, years ago I requested to be on Solg BOD on this bb
The Italian good point there ,indeed it looks like a spin off sale add shareholders value or special divi
TI, I'd love to know how financing can be organised without a DFS.
Q, ready it first then.
As they state, the SR "includes exploring and pursuing opportunities to enhance Company value such as evaluating
financing alternatives, potentially spinning out non-Cascabel assets to shareholders, selling an interest in Cascabel
at a value-justifying price, or other related transactions."
Nothing about any version of Alpala to bring to production.
Network problems I think needalife
Bubble, your post was an hour behind because the fella who sorts it, had to read it first, poor bu**er fell asleep out of sheer boredom
Agreed addicknt, the strategic review is going to show us the renewed company direction.
Looks like we are going for a cheaper version to bring Alpala to production at first glance, but haven't read it yet.
Still is I see
My post was an hour behind this morning still a few problems I guess
There's a lot to read and it's far more detailed than we've been used to, but the overwhelming impression is of a company which has hunkered-down and is concentrating on the SR. The good news is that the cost saving initiatives mean that we have have sufficient liquidity until June 2024.
Has appeared.
NAl quite the opposite actually.
Bhp know exactly what they are doing and just vwaiting things out imo.
They know what's there and they can wait as long as they have to, it's a win win for them and doubt they would dump their shares even if they had no interest in Ecuador.
I suspect Newmont will be willing sellers.
Bozi, my point was that in order to deliver shareholder value they are considering all options. Some of us may not like whichever route they pursue, whereas others may. Ultimately, if the chosen path gives us what we all want I guess they'll have done their job.
They must believe there's more than one way to skin the cat and it'll be interesting to see which way they go.
I should add that I too am experiencing shareholder fatigue, but I won't be following Bubble's route by selling before the outcome is revealed - that strikes me as being perverse. However, if a GGP-style jv emerges, I'm done - there's too high an opportunity cost involved.
Well that's very interesting news this morning ,wonder how that affects solgold going forward
Smickster, while on the subject of clowns. This week I've read posters telling me irwin doesn't know what he's talking about, posters telling me ric rule is a doom monger who doesn't. Know what he's talking about. Now your telling me bhp, haven't got they're eye on the ball. Bit of a pattern. They all disagree with the board narrative
Smickster, I think you will find us shareholders in bhp, more than satisfied with the bhp board. I just received my dividend of almost $1 a share. I think that shows they know what they're doing. Can you show mw the link where it shows the Chinese are about to buy us.
I'm afraid the likes of the clown who posted that no news from solg is excellent news. As it means solg is about to be sold, just excites the likes of you and the masses. But actually always amounts to S F A
Welcome back DG1, you had a personality transplant whist you've been away as reading you posts this evening was an absolute pleasure, didn't agree 100% but none the less all constructive.
I'd hoped for a swifter resolution to all things solg like yourself and many others, but the reality is that time plays a big part in any deal, and every second must feel like an hour to Bob, Mather and all the other players who want to move on as much as we do.
For so many reasons this will get sold, split up and sold, or whatever flavour of corporate action we end up with, but it's coming and the hardest thing to do right now is nothing. It's frustrating, but the asset is too good and potentially too important to too many potential suitors, so it's just question of checking for an RNS, the forget about till 7 am the next morning. See yo at 7. All the best. C
We just don't know which of the SR options are truly on the table though Add.
PIs have a clear preference and I'd imagine Bob and Maxit do too.
It's one of those that if a JV of Cascabel was announced for example I'd be fairly sure what the reaction would be...
DG1, not sure about the 'binary scenario'. I think I'd suggest the parameters of the SR were specifically set to avoid it being described as binary.
Good post, tldr. A bearish factoid this week was Ravishing Rick Rule's grim, but speculative timeline.
Who TF knows?
