I just know the UK was once joined to mainland Europe , as was Jersey , not now.
One of the main sticking points of convincing sceptics that the climate change is a thing is the condescending jeering and belittling of the very people that the people who are on board are trying to win over.
Maybe they should try a carrot instead of a stick.
Covgaz the millennium bug was massive, I was involved in lots of migrations of operating systems, some couldn't be upgraded because the hardware wouldn't support it, also applications were not always compatible and after they had run their own testing regimes they were often running out of time.
I was also on call on 31st December 1999 and we had done such a good job, we only had two calls, and one could be fixed, one required an upgrade.
Not a hoax at all.

Pleasingly, the 'hole in the ozone layer' (basic term for human accelerated depletion of high atmospheric ozone) has started to repair. Concerted scientific opinion was allowed to enter public consciousness. Solutions were found and peer reviewed. CFCs were banned and almost every country stopped their widespread use. And hey presto - improvement!
If only the tin hat wearing deniers and big oil-backed lobbyists would get out of the way, we could accelerate the implementation of strategies to limit climate change.
Don't be a luddite, and don't be taken in by fridge GB news types. Do some reading, get an education and become part of the solution. Defeatists never solved anything.
Very quiet here today.
All the traders over at COPL ?
Nice to see a good, oldfashioned hockeystick BOOM, H&S completion, then consolidation. Doesn't happen so often these days.
Forgot to say. that last post was one of padmasters.
Unusually wet here this evening.
thought id go back over some historical posts. wondering how long ago
we were told we had 12 majors sniffing round,
2018, hard to believe. wonder if they are in todays data room.
another thing that stood out, was the same people bigging it up today,
were mostly all posting a take over is imminent then.
had to smile, padmaster was posting his ditties as often as he does now.
this was the post I stopped on from 5 years ago.
"NM’s strategy is very clear.
Get the share price as high as possible through a sequence of RNS announcements before BHP bid for the whole lot (IMHO) - which will be very soon."
funny thing is. nm has gone, and the sp has dropped from 50p to 15p,
but paymasters still posting his ditties,
Where has all the childish excited chatter of the last week or so gone.
dont tell me a dose of realism has been prescribed.
or are we at the stage that there is F A else we can talk about, its all been said
a thousand times.
are we now to do what we've done for 10 years, wait for the next snippet of news

BBC News - False claims of bogus heatwave spread online
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-66314338
Hi to all long term holders & newbies alike :D
I’ve recently taken to avoiding looking in on the daily chat here (and avoiding posting) - and to be honest - I feel so much better for it.
As I approach 10 years of investment in this company, I do find it disappointing/frustrating/ infuriating that the share price is barely above when I first invested @ (circa 12p), given the huge progress!
I wonder where things will ultimately go from here, but I’m dug-in and will be holding my shares in the hope of a good outcome.
Best of luck guys …….
Ps, all rights reserved to post lots again lol
I wonder who was around when the sea rose enough to cause the English Channel? C'mon , who caused that? Must have been humans ....and the Ice Age , where did that go? I'm sure someone will have an answer. Is the ozone layer fixed now? Never gets a mention. Oh , and the millennium bug ha ha , remember
that one , planes falling from the sky!So many questions , so many scientists and no real answers , just some sheep and some folk who have there own views.
“If this is aimed at me anon” agar you are are card 😂😂😂 don’t flatter yourself mate trying every trick to hang on in there… BTW the nearest you have got to Italy is the spaghetti bolognaise you last ate absolute 🤡
Have you recovered from your spanking, sluggy? I'm male btw- pronouns are he/him
How are the temperatures in Sicily today? 😂🤣
Need me to show you how to check?!
If this is aimed at me anon (weirdly you didn't name anyone, just sent your thoughts into the either?) then rest assured I completely believed in solg when I invested, believed in them up to the PFS, and will believe in them again once the out this current poor management to pasture. No reason to sell up- at the moment solg is the only way to invest in the Alpala deposit. If that changes, I'll switch my investment in a timely fashion. Until then, it's cheap owing to chronic poor decision making 👍
Does that mean it will sell soon? Absolutely not. But believing in a company doesn't mean crossing your fingers and hoping, pretty please, for a charitable bid. Long way to go here - top up when you feel you can, if you understand the risks and timeline properly, I'd say.
Constantly trying to prove that this is a bad investment?
I honestly don't get it. If you don't rate a company, fair enough. Say so ocassionally and leave it at that.
But some people seem to want to make a career out of it and get their kicks by arguing for the sake of it.
I honestly find it quite pathetic.
If you don't like the company or the way you see things are going, get the hell out, surely?
Why would you stay invested if you don't believe?
Needing a life definitely springs to mind. They obviously have nothing better to do.
I realise ramper fort won't answer, as he doesn't appreciate scrutiny, but I think it's quite telling how far from their original positions each rampers has been forced to move. With each month that passes (predictably) without a bid, they have to cover their tracks, pretending they didn't say what they did. Others would find it embarrassing and slink off, but they are all as spineless as novice, so on we go, listening to their chuff.
In other news, Franco CFO said today that they are gathering options for 4 projects in LatAm. We know what two of them are. Who knows on the other two. Any thoughts, or do people not read around solg?
Would oops
Question for someone who might know
If we had received the water licenses required at Cascabel would be be lawfully required to RNS it or wouldn’t it be considered unnecessary?
Fair point Q.
Haters gonna hate 😂😂😂 have a great weekend all and over the month we have moved … wait for it +0.24% that’s it was it really worth all the nonsense posted here by said laurel and hardy ? We all hold waiting for the inevitable first bid, when ? Who knows but locked and loaded here and happy as Larry to have got on at 7p level many moons ago 😉😉😉
Fort, about 9 months ago you were asked why anyone would buy the company without exploitation licence in place. Because your ramping at the time was all about an imminent sale (it still is, embarrassingly!) you claimed unequivocally that they weren't needed. Funny how these brainless rampers change their tune so readily.
Rampers gonna ramp.
Inform the market of what, until the I's are dotted and the T's crossed, we have nothing to say.
I guess much depends on what is left in terms of 'red tape' before development can commence? The likelihood is that the exploitation agreement and the 25 year mine licence are worthless without the environmental permits/permission to develop. It's hard to award the environmental permits if the development plan and affected areas are not known etc etc. We've heard rumours of pipelines being planned and built to export from Alpala. I'm sure Chinese will or are behind any planned infrastructure spend like roads, pipelines, bridges, water works, disposal plans etc etc. Shed loads required in planning a Tier 1 mine.
But the mine life and exploitation agreements absolutely paramount and key to getting this sold.
I suppose it's possible we're in a chicken and egg situation. Funders/jv partners/buyers wouldn't commit until the licences were agreed and the government wouldn't gives us them until we could demonstrate we had the wherewithal to progress. In order to break this circle I can only guess that we were able to provide evidence of intent from interested parties and the government blinked first. But if that's the case, surely the company has a duty to inform the market?
Good afternoon addicknt.
May I suggest that the stories are not conflicting.
Maybe we have the funding through a joint venture.
It would meet the requirements of all statements.
We are not builder's but our partner's are.
We have the finance sorted, so we can obtain the explotation license.
We have the permits and licenses as soon as it's made public.
Just a thought.
