I can't see drug cartels running around in milk floats!
That said, anybody who does drive an electric cause is by default a complete and utter tosspot
I know your in deep copperpot, and I feel for you.
Another classic from you today, following on from your source in solg revelation.
Today's cracker.
"Cartels work in most countries in one form or another."
Really mate ramp it up by all means, but please mate, try to make it a bit realistic.
Drug cartels also murder politicians, kidnap prominent people, and corrupt governments and also stop foreign investment.
Is your filter not working copperpot. Your spending an awful lot of energy replying to my posts. Has your contact dried up, giving you more time
OMG if that’s your basis for investing in this company you need serious help.
Mines only get mined if they are economically viable and there are many factors to take into account.
It looks like you have overlooked the majority of those factors.
Amazes me that posters invest life savings, pensions, etc in a company whose main asset is in a country the majority on here, would never visit because of the state of the country, but they’ll blow all the spare cash they have……takes all kinds
RAMPERS GONNA RAMP………
Drug cartels drive vehicles and sometimes even E/V's. These vehicles use copper, with EV's using much more copper.
Drug cartels also wear jewellery that is made from gold and silver. A lot of cartels don't like too much paper, they hold gold (ingots).
Their homes believe it or not are electrified for lighting, heating/cooling and plumbing etc. Yes more copper.
I could go on forever with the importance of the metals....lol, but only dummies think that tier 1's won't get mined....but they will! It's just basic stuff that we all know, and no doomsters will drive us away from our investment!
Leave knobead to fester and stew because the scare tactics are pointless and not working. Cartels work in most countries in one form or another. THE METALS WILL BE MINED AT CASCABEL, AND WE WILL (MOST LIKELY) BE INVOLVED!

Interesting article for quady and fort.
Dispelling there opinion it's either a tourist thing or just a couple of gangs fighting over drugs.
And as I asked in April. Do we think it could affect foreign investment.
Bozi - maybe so, but the combined group's assets are basically Solgold at 100% of Ensa.
Let's not forget there have been two seismic events that have put us back too, the "pandemic" (I got some shares just North of 10p, never thought I'd see that again) and then the Ukraine war. And on top of that there is the current inflationary crisis caused by the response the pandemic. Three black swan in events in three years, that's some bad luck.
But the fundamentals remain. An enormous resource of valuable metals. Unless BHP, Newcrest, Jiangxi and Mather all collude to squeeze out the PI, then value surely has to come in the end.
Quite possibly. Lets hope you're right.
The only issue as i see it is that the company engaged in that short-termism you mention when doing the merger and announcing the strategic review. Instead, they could, and probably should, have announced an evaluation of all assets of the combined group.
That may have bought some time.
Adikt. Reading through yesterday's posts. It appears I'm by no means not the only one who thinks solg is still a s**t show, and nothings changed. As opposed to your opinions
I forecast that as the weeks roll on and on and on
Many more will begin to agree with my post from when Caldwell took over. That nothing will change while mather runs the show.
In fact to be fair to you, one thing has changed. The share price is heading for single figures
But if they look to scrimp and save in buying the asset, one of the others will simply step in and not scrimp so much.
Short-termism has become a feature of globalisation. In a world where we're rocked from pillar to post by media who are addicted to doom, looking beyond next week becomes almost a long term plan. That's why eyes have been taken off strategic actual long term investments. Why build a mine for $3bn and take five years doing it when you can make ten times the money on Bitcoin in a weekend....that has become the mentality and of course we know the downfalls.
I think the big M&A has to get done, then we can see who has the foresight to think ahead. The Chinese certainly do but they're playing a slow hand. Sanctions are starting to bite between East and West and that may (if we're lucky for once) play into some competitive tension that will give us the outcome we surely deserve on persistence alone.
Yes 1982, they'll invest in constructing a mine but they'll look to scrimp and save when it comes to paying the people who took the risk when the company made the discovery, i.e. SOLG shareholders.
Otherwise we'd have received a perfectly acceptable offer by now. You seem to have a good grasp on why that hasn't been received. Add this angle to it.
They'll throw more than £2bn for the massive amounts of gold and copper that were identified years ago, that is the value in this asset. They don't give a rat's backside how the mining equivalent of the Chuckle Brothers would build a ramp to target 20% of the ore for about three times the GDP of the nation they're operating in.
As you're aware, there is a data room and there are rumours that companies have access. That data is all they need to work out how they'd make the proposition viable. That and of course the continuing laughing stock of Solgold diluting itself to make any takeout ultimately easier.
That CEO job has become a poisoned chalice. Ever new incumbent seems to get about 6 weeks to deliver a takeover before the knives are out and being sharpened once more. Laughing out loud.
The fact of the matter is there are bigger stakeholders than us, stakeholders that wield much more influence. So, if a quick firesale of the company isn't in keeping with an outcome they're happy with, it doesn't happen. As simple as that.
We simply have to wait and hope the political/liquidity/etc plates keep spinning.
There was a time when Irwin used to scoff and ridicule Solgolds management for continuing to invest time and money in the PFS study, saying any major who may buy Cascabel will just bin it and do their own… now, he claims to be excited about seeing Scott’s new updated PFS and mine plans, that they will unlock value… he is clearly just trying to put a positive spin on no progress and same old, same old Solgold Malaise
And Scott he I’ll not make it past the Agm… he has admitted that the big Shareholders were not happy with him as new CEO… though they will be happy He has cratered the share price as it means they may be able to pick it up for loose change further down the line when we need more funds
1982 - how do you think the takeout is supposed to come about if the company can't demonstrate a viable extraction?
do you expect someone is going to chuck us £2bn for the ****z and the gigglez?
Totally agree with you 1982. After coming out chastising previous management, I thought Scott would be a nonsense guy who would get things done. I'm so disappointed with him. So far all he has done is move his snout closer to the trough, and instead of banging on about first mover advantage, he is obsessed with the rocks. Too much flipping talking and not enough outcomes.
I don't think Irwin has much inside information on Solgold but he is a good investor and highly experienced. He certainly seem to think a takeout will happen eventually and if you ignore the lunatics then that clearly is the only way to monetise this asset.
My disappointment is in the way it has been run into the ground over the last 3-4 years. The $3m per month spunked on endless variations of a PFS to try and make it look viable. Suitors know what's there, and they know how to get at it, they certainly won't use anything in our 4 years of studies to help exploit it.
So why didn't they just park Cascabel at PEA and move onto other targets? Everything since then has seen shares printed like confetti and a declining share price to the point that the value of Cascabel whilst unaltered largely is now split between about 6 times as many shares as it need have been.
More to the point, why are they still bleeding cash? Just mothball it until someone buys it. A few people chasing licenses and agreements certainly doesn't require $3m per month spend.
I think Sangha said fast and smart, not Irwin. And Sangha's the bloke charged with finding an outcome.
Wanted to sum up a few end of week thoughts here as been following ad-hoc but not much been happening, also for no other reason than it is a public board and I can.. . lol
Warren Irwin - Whilst I respect the guy and his track record, strikes me as nothing more than a typical American (yes I know he is Canadian) who is over confident / arrogant and would walk over anyone / anything to get his way... including insinuating that he knows more than he can let on - I don't buy it personally. What was it he said - "fast and smart" or something similar? - proper egg on face although he will never admit it. In reality he is a frustrated investor trying to influence as best he can to get as much as he can out of Solgold. Don't buy into those people that hang on every word / tweet (or X posts as it is now called).
Nick Mather - be careful what you wish for guys ... never got the band wagon of people jumping on him for not delivering... the proof is in the pudding and the current CEO/MD performance judged by share price is woeful to say the least. Not hearing people screaming for his head ... yet!! I'm not convinced. Tempted to say bring back Nick ?
Investor and trader - I trade this and have made a very tidy sum, but I am also an investor having have never been fully out of Solgold with a sizeable chunk in ISA and pension. Do I wish I sold everything at 40p + - Yes Do I think my 'investment' will come good... yes but now less clear than ever as to how that will materialise. :-(
Current share price - tempted to buy some more but fear this will fall further with general market conditions... multi bagger for those that get in now and can wait 12-18 months IMO.
Have a good weekend all
i see the ******** is still going on. i'll be back when the playground is a bit quieter
Mockingbird
Conversely I’m delighted I won’t be around for another 50 years ….. though I’m probably younger than a few here .
And other wise people are advising we are getting hotter, poorer and will struggle with food security because we are ignoring climate change. I guess only time will tell which wise people were right, I’m lucky enough that I should be around for another 50 years to find out .
Some very wise people have long predicted the green nonsense will end when people get cold, poor and hungry :)
Addicknt, agree... I mentioned Topic the other day as thought he was looking stronger by the day. As you mention... Perez and lefty lovies tree huggers etc etc are way down the list. Self preservation hitting home at these latest polls suggesting individual value their own lives and safety more than the environment.
I still think Correa will get back in albeit through his lady representative. Question is... can Topic push it to a run off and stretch the process out another couple of months or more?
hear hear, i think i prefer to trust a multi millionaire with a long and successful history in mining investments over a chess playing ****** who can't understand an rns let alone string a sentence together without an array of embarrassing errors.
