Hopefully iron ore will start to boom again on top of this.
Copper rises due to strong Chinese demand
Come back February or March and this will still be sub 50p This share is still in short pants, it is years away from full value!
Copperpot, the UK has a policy on refugees and I think its one of the most liberal in the world. I agree, accept as many of the genuine refugees that you can. However, the limit is there for a reason. And unfortunately, there are many who pretend to be refugees but who aren't, spoiling it for those that really matter.
Purchased £20K last week and already 7% down lol. No problem as I feel this is one of the few shares on AIM you can class as an investment rather than a gamble. The board seems rather strange as I reckon of the 180+ posts today less than 20% had a direct connection to Solgold.
ATB.
Binman.....not gunman....ffs.
Miagi, I too am against illegal entry into any country. But were talking about desperation here. Some of these people have fled Syria! Could you imagine yourself sat in a bombed out concrete home, no running water/electricity, covered in dust. No food, no heat, no clothes and not knowing when Assads next payload of bombs will drop. Then comes the hardest bit....you have to sit in the remnants of your home in a freezing cold Syrian winter...staring at your starving wife and kids. If the hunger doesn't kill them the cold will. How helpless does this father feel to his wife and children? This man could be a doctor, policeman, teacher or a gunman....what does it matter what he did. He wants food, warmth and an escape from the indiscriminate bomb letting. God love and bless them, that's all I can say!
"If a black person insults a white person because of the colour of his skin, then while you might consider this racist, by definition it is not."
As a white chap from a far from privileged background who grew up around moss side, longsight,Hyde, Ashton and Oldham I can assure you racism against white people is real.
Unless I was called casper because I was a friendly ghost, or there was a pile of white trash next to me when someone shouted it.
As interesting as this is though folks, back to far important measures; what is going on with SOLG? I feel like I should sell up and buy back in when we hit 25p again... Back to the bad old days.
All very interesting but totally the wrong platform to be discussing this... Meanwhile back at the ranch the stock has held up very well. Carry on you've all done very well
RM, "Sounds like you're better off out of it, "
You are entirely missing the point with that statement. Our society needs more people with integrity, regardless of race, in positions of power. It is a great shame that somebody who stood up for justice was made to feel so unhappy in his job that he had to leave. Unfortunately, sh 1 t generally rises to the top - just look at Trump and Bojo.
In my 15 years travelling on the tube I never saw anyone get mugged. There were 54000 mugging and pickpockets incidents in London in 2019 which probably compares favourably considering the numbers that travel through London in a year. I personally never worried about getting mugged on the tube but pickpocketed yes.
Copperpot, the Mexican border has been a long-standing issue. The fact of the matter is that a lot of people cross it illegally. So, if a fence will stop them, then put up a fence. I am 100% against illegal entry - laws are laws. If the laws need changing, then so be it. Change the law first though. As for Trump's comments about the Mexicans, well they were broad-brush, ignorant generalisations and that's what you get with the racist idiot. Regardless of his motivations, he does have a valid point about the border being a big problem.
Bringing it back to the UK, I think you will find that a primary reason why we are so popular is that we have one of the most generous benefit systems - it's as simple as that. We already have a population problem in this country, so we must limit entry numbers. This is an even bigger problem in southern European countries that are both economically weaker than the UK and much closer to Africa. It generates huge resentment among the locals there, where there is high unemployment and a poor benefits system.
Jeez Shipright...are you naive...?

Miagi365 I no longer live in London but spend most of my time in Cardiff where I was born. The Welsh really are much more friendly if I say so myself. The main problem on the streets is the huge number of homeless drug users who blight most cities sadly.
If the asylum seekers in dinghies are less welcome that the chinese/HK crew because of their wealth. How do you think the dinghy crew afford the people traffickers? Many of these people are professionals. The manual workers can't afford the journey.
Exactly Copperpot, which is why after Brexit, we will attract Finance, Industry and Science to the UK, as our environment has a lot to offer.
Roger I lived in London for 15 years and like most people catch the tube everyday. The five years after I was a police officer I worked in an office and therefore would have a suit on. It did not happen all the time but it happened an awful lot.
I am not sure if you have been on a tube roger but they tend to be very busy and me being tall would not really intimidate a woman. Some not all assumed and some still assume black male equals mugger.
Robizm, yes i was picking out just one aspect there, not to detract from your main point.
Miagi, I never said their should be a free border for any Tom ,Dick or Harry to simply walk over at will. What I said was a huge fence on a border is disgraceful. You may not agree, but I think it is. The wall was Donald Chump massaging his ego. He called Mexicans thieves, pimps, murderers and prostitutes etc. What's the odds that when he was in hospital a Mexican nurse/doctor treated him in some capacity. With regards a lot of the dinghy people, some of them are very educated people in search of a better life. Do you honestly think they would make the crossing in rough seas with young kids if they werent desperate? They choose the UK over France and a lot of other European countries because they speak fluent English and have family here they can live with till they get sorted. We all try the best for our families especially during times of starvation and persecution!
Your 17:38 is an eye opener - has the situation not improved in the last couple of decades though?
It's all relative though - you've probably seen what goes on in the US? The Kalief Browder tragedy.
Miagi365 the point I was making is that people are not racist to my face whereas my cousin who is 5ft 4in tall black and gay gets picked on all the time.
Racists like bullies pick their victims carefully.
Hi Miagi, I am not an expert on this, and learning all the time, from friends who experience racism, nearly every week in one form or other. It often occurs, when you would least expect it, and we are not always aware of our own behavior. From moving a handbag on a bus, to pulling away from people, to the way we talk differently to people.
The more we keep it in the media, the more we improve society.
As for RogerMellie, I would happily buy him a dinghy, if he thinks this country is too crowded, he can go to a less crowded Island, May I suggest Rockall.
Anyway back to Solgold my days as a police officer does not bring back happy memories
robizm1001 - ever thought that you might come across as an intimidating fellow?! Anyone who is 6 ft 5 and built, regardless of race, is going to look intimidating to many - it's just the way it is.
Roger yes I was and please don’t be so patronising. My patch covered Millwall and in my 10yrs we did very little to counter football hooligans no pictures of the usual suspects on match days no warnings to the main trouble makers.
I was often asked by fellow officers to say I had seen an individual at say 10am in a certain street to place him at or near a crime scene. I refused unless I had seen them. I seen loads of fabricated evidence against people where it was their first arrest. People arrested and left in the cells for hours even overnight to soften them up most of which was illegal.
You are supposed to have friends from all backgrounds why don’t you ask them if they have any negative police experiences.
