The 🦜 must be on early half term!
Lots of green boxes 📦
Just think how bad it must be to live in the same house! Chr!st on a bike!
Now a real 🦜 are great to have around the house and probably of more use.
GLA real long term investors. Nice to see directors making a small purchase.
That wasn't the point I was making. I was suggesting that it may have an effect on our future direction, which seems pretty obvious to me.
For example, a sale to BHP would signal BHP's intentions, likewise the Chinese. Short of buying the shares ourselves, there's nothing our management can do to determine what happens with the shares.
Newmont can change something. If they decide to sell their solg shares, say on the open market, that would kill the solg SP. They have that power for change. Let us hope that they have a positive view of Ecuador.
What I am saying addicknt is it doesn't matter what they do with their stake.
The diverse book means Solgold are in charge of their own destiny.
Newmont cannot change anything.
Sorry Q, not sure I understand your point. What has the fabled 'diverse book' got to do with the future of Newmont's stake? The answer is 'nothing'. They'll make their own minds up about what they want to do with it.
Good morning addicknt.
I must disagree.
The whole reason we have been able to defend from any one investor or two acting in together in concert, is that we have a diverse book.
The direction of Solgold is firmly in the hands of the BOD.
Tom Palmer has said Newmont intend to concentrate on mining in less risky jurisdictions. Although all the right noises have been made, Ecuador must still count as being risky. They are also committed to expanding their copper footprint. So:
1) Will they sell?
2) Will they hold as passive investors?
3) Will they actively support the company?
We've been told there are buyers out there for the old CGP stake, so one can assume these same buyers would be interested in Newcrest's. Will SC seek to find a friendly buyer for the holding? Is the market currently discounting us because it regards the Newmont's position as an over-hang? In other words, is it contributing to the uncertainty rather than as a catalyst?
To my way of thinking the future of the ownership of these shares is of great significance to us, although I'm not sure we'll be getting an answer any time soon.
Last week was holiday - National Day & Golden Week in China.
So I guess that's you saying that you can't find any evidence of me having a friend or source within Solg?
Goodnight.
Thou protestus to much copperpot.
Go to bed mate, and dream of what's going on in the background,. And wake up to again watch this space,....... As you have every night for the last 4 years.
Goodnight god bless
Bubble/needalife, if you can't accept that I know somebody that feeds me tidbit's that's your problem. But please find and produce the relevant information that I have a friend in Solg. You won't find anything...cos I've never said it..... you demented clown.
Needalife, once again....prove where I said that I had a friend or source in Solg.......and then post it here!
You're beginning to sound more like Mr Bubble by the day!
Oh hold on.......hmmmmm.
The point is novice. You posting 55p by Friday is tongue in cheek.
The likes of copperpot posts fantasy, he has convinced himself is the truth.
Your correct copperpot. You never said you had a friend in solg,
But you did clearly state you had a source or contact in solg.
And as I said, when I pointed out the legalities of you posting insider information on an open public forum board.
You ridiculously changed your story, to tell us you met a random banker in a random coffee shop in London, who you struck up a random conversation with, who randomly happened to mention he had a contact in solg.
He then chose to tell you a random stranger that something was happening in October with solg.
No amount of your usual abuse will alter one simple fact.
You've spouted fantasy and make believe on here for years. And always resort to childish abuse when shown up
Needalife, the good thing for me is I'm not leveraged, nor am I impatient. If this does take another 3-4-5 years for production I'm more than happy to wait. I've accepted the situation and am more than happy to roll with it. You on the other hand seemed to be getting rather impatient old boy!
If production starts in 3yrs, I myself and my family will be rolling in clover! If a sale anywhere north of 4.6 occurs, I'm still in the black. What's not to like if you're in my position?
Stress is a killer, and you sound like your on borrowed time......lol.
Goodnight you cuddly little drongo!
ps.....don't forget to post where I said that I have a friend inside Solg. ;-)
I'm with needy they are such a wonderful poster that is the gift that keeps on giving 😉 come on copper surely even you can see that, for instance for many years I posted 55p by Friday and they haven't even started commenting on that yet! I can't wait 😄 😄
Needalife Nnobhead, please go back through my posting history and find where I said that I had a friend in Solg.
I stand by my earlier statement that..
........................................................
YOU ARE THICKER THAN A SUBMARINE HATCH!
ps......please post your findings here for others to check it out. You won't be able to, because I've never said it ..........you demented halfwit!
Copperpot. Interested to read that you stand by your post of 4 years ago. Where you told us then that something was going on in the background, and watch this space.
Just out of curiosity, how many more years do you think something will go on in the background, and more importantly, how many more years shall I spend watching this space.
The problem I have is. While watching this space year after year, I'm neglecting the boiler room.
Also mate. You did clearly say you had a source in solg, then quickly backtracked when I pointed out
Only a fool would post inside information on a public forum board.
You look like an idiot without lying about your share purchases.
It’s all in black and white and your posts have been cut and pasted so you can’t edit your story.
You got caught lying about share purchases before and you haven’t learnt your lesson.
Perhaps your mental health issues include being a pathological liar……..
No wonder you never admit prices and amounts.
I love the bit about lowering your average, with a buy at 8.96, of which the largest buy at that price was 3505 shares, you really are a dork
I called for the directors to stick their hand in their pockets last week and they have delivered although expected Mather to chip in as well. It's a message that will be heard more across the fund managers network and other investment platforms rather than pi's. The pro's like to see management using their own cash as a true indicator of confidence. Rarely do you see directors stick hands in pockets these days. And if you meet a fund manager, he or she will tell you thatb they are happy playing around with other peoples money but certainly not their own!
I'm happy with directors buying stock but lets face it... it's down here in the bargain basement levels due to their slow progress on a number of fronts. Can't place the blame on them completely as market has deteriorated through 2023 as inflation lingers and rates look higher for longer.
Elections conclude on Sunday, so with that out of the way, we might start to see some volume return to solg via the likes of the Chinese and others who appear to be sitting on their hands awaiting Sunday's result.
Management could have done the same but clearly elected to get stuck in last week. A vote for confidence for Ecuadorian elections?
Today, we got a glimpse of Scott/Bob/Maxit fighting back a bit against what looks like someone trying to squeeze SOLG.
Games a foot imho. I'm expecting Maxit/Bob to deliver something pre-AGM. Might be regionals or might be something else. I'm just hoping it's not something pony like the CGP regionals which won't get much of an eyebrow raised from the market even though some prospects look alright.
Rab, Scott didn’t put the money in today
Can you not read an RNS?
Warren said that he expected the company to be sold within the next 6 months, ie end of Q1/24. If that is the case, then last minute nest feathering going on then.
Sharket, but maybe he does now that he's in the position to do so.
I hope not by the way. I want Solg to do well and to be sold, so I know it's a cynical comment from me about the share purchase. I'd be impressed if he bought a lot more shares, but £94k, relative to his wealth, just seems to be a token gesture to try to encourage investors and to prop up a falling share price.
Dammed if they do or dammed if they don’t
Well I’m relieved it’s for one even if the board doesn’t know where an eventual bid will come from
Portofino, multi millionaires don't become such by throwing away £94,000 on meaningless PR exercises.
