Adikt. I wonder if you could post a link, where it says America will slap him on the wrist.
A credible source please.
Not a neighbor or room mate.
Thanks in advance, Im sure you have it.
Stack, the only POSITIVE I can see here is that the Chinese don't care about stability. Hence, if they are interested, then we should be OK in the short term. The need to exit expeditiously is still urgent. I don't think that our already battered SP could survive a coup, or God forbid, Nobby's assassination

HfH, isn't there, just.
Noboa is doing his best to prevent the country from becoming a fully fledged narco state like Mexico, and he's enjoying a level of public support that would be the envy of any western politician. However, the situation in Guayaquil remains difficult, but he's not going to turn a blind eye to it. His actions are designed to prove to both his people and the international community, that Ecuador is not like its neighbours and we must hope the countries that really matter to Ecuador, America and China, continue to support him. America in particular, will not want another Mexico on its hands and although they will probably join those giving Noboa a 'slap in the wrist' (not my words, they appeared in one of the articles) the matter will blow over, no matter what a few people on here say.
However, I do agree with Eloro when he says he wants us to sell, but it must be done at the right price and a panic reaction will not achieve that.

There appears a real desperation in the posts from those that have shorted this stock, and rightly so lol.
Personally I'm grinning from ear to ear, I've NEVER been more comfortable with an investment. The mentally stable should hold and accumulate. GLA.
Adikt, adikt, oh dear adikt.
Yes he has lifted the curfew.
"Ecuador modifies emergency measures as of April 8, canceling curfew and instituting new declaration of internal armed conflict."
He's now calling it modified emergency measures.
And that means a curfew under another name.
He had to ditch the word curfew.
Clearly nobody would invest in a country under curfew.
Adikt, please remember when you post your ideas and theories.
You can fool some of the people all of the time.
You can fool all of the people some of the time
BUT YOU CAN'T FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME.
Look up the word facts.
Yesterday there are several interesting articles in Bloomberg and CNN about the situation which point out how the state of emergency was lifted on Monday and that Noboa's crackdown on cartels has bolstered his approval ratings. An analyst from Hxagon, who are political risk analysts, has also said he believes the noise surrounding the Mexican situation will blow over in a couple of weeks. It's widely anticipated that the deal with the IMF will go ahead as planned, particularly given the ongoing support of the USA.
Sales require buyers, Eloro - a lesson Scott and Bob have learnt this year. And news about a president with little regard for international law likely won't help confidence. Majors are used to investing in volatile regions, but knowing that the man co-signing agreements with you doesn't think he has to honour them might be troubling.
Which makes it even more urgent that we sell up and get out before the country becomes another Venezuela where assets are ceased. Just ask Guyana how greedy the Latin Americans are.
Another sobering paragraph from the Ecuador troubles.
"Until recently considered one of the safest countries in the region, Ecuador, which is also the gateway to the Galapagos Islands and home to the rainforest, attracted many tourists.
But now it has the highest recorded murder rate in Latin America.
In 2023, police recorded about 8,000 violent deaths. That is eight times more than in 2018 and puts Ecuador ahead of countries like Mexico and Colombia."
Not to sure where adikt got his murder rate figures from.
Probably a mate from the Ecuador police force he roomed with at uni. Oxford no less
None the less, doesn't make reassuring reading.

I gave you a tick up CMG because you made me laughπ Let's hope that you and Add are right and that my concerns are unfounded, re funding.
Solg always struggle to fill positions. Too bad Keith didn't transitioned to become the ceo. Look who we ended up with as a ceo!! I don't recall Keith speaking and the end result is the SP tanks.
Observation eloro, observations ...
A Muppet is a Muppet no matter how you dress it up.
And calling posters muppets, loser, clown etc isn't name calling CMG? I suppose that you regard those words as terms of endearment?π
Think some of the ramper crowd tried to make a similar arguement about several other vacant positions last year, ftjny, but it turned out solg were just very slow to fill them. Occam's razor says it's the same story here π
At a guess Add I would conclude that we don't need a Chairman if Solg is being sold?
Eloro
All I see is a foolish desperate man.
Name calling and trying to pick Minor faults to build his ego.
You are weak , like the other two Muppets.. who join you in the barrage of insults on me.
Pays to be a foolish winner, rather than a brainwashed loser like yourself.
I rest my case ... you are nothing more than a Bitter, bitter man.
