Not quite everyone got what they wanted.
Fort (absolute joke of a ramper-turned-pessimist with predictably terrible timing) wanted SC out. How did that go, Fort? Let me just check that vote tally again...
Well according to the court documents, Nick Mather has for some time wanted to stop further spending at Cascabel and sell it. Which is what we are doing.
Good morning addicknt as you know I have always supported Nicks view.
If we are sold it will be for fair value.
I have stated many times how various defence strategies and the diverse book makes this hard to achieve.
We still have PFS3 and the strategic review.
Hopefully they'll be less confusion after these are published.
I have never been against a sale if it's fair value.
I just believe in order to achieve fair value we have to construct Cascabel.
Agree Add.
I suppose the positive of the special being rejected is that it makes the SolGold Canada shares less likely to be issued and anyone who had their eye on them now has to either start buying on the open market or twist Scott's arm into print some brand new paper.
Interesting dynamic emerging there.
So everyone got what they wanted. Main resolutions past and protests made over share numbers.
SC you have until the end of the 1st quarter to get this logjam moving or you are toast.
Great result AGM, now we can focus on the year ahead, looks like a couple of big voters, still enjoy throwing their toys out of the pram, we still have a great team of Directors at the helm, to get the job done
Bozi, fair point.
Over time BHP's strategy became crystal clear (perhaps it always was and the board fell for assurances that they were there to help the company) and anyone who effectively voted to support them seemingly had no idea of the consequences. Anyway, we've been spared that and hopefully we can ignore BHP's whingeing and move towards the exit. If they don't like it, they can make an offer.
Q, surely the DC deposition has made it perfectly clear what's happening? And it ain't production.
Hey Fort - are you getting that whiff of Caldwell toast this morning?
No it would appear not. Just the 99.22% for. Ha!
Jerry spaniel.
I don't think you have been listening.
No one for a couple of years has been talking about 5 billion to build a mine.
It was around 2.9 billion under PFS 2 to get us to production.
PFS3 is a low cost option under 2 billion hopefully and also recovering the high gold/copper concentrate.
Hence why funding is now important and hopefully will be presented simultaneously as PFS3 declared.
hehe bbg yep the parrot 🦜 will be ****ed off today but no more bitter than any other day.
just needs to flock off back to its perch!
Newmont clearly voted if you ask me. Those 638m votes seem suspciously close to teh total of Newmont and BHP combined.
mmm.... so Newmont don't like Mather either then. Nor do they like they idea of SOLG issuing shares to another party.
That's actually encourageing if true as shows Newmont really do a give a shiiit. Mmm. And why wouldn't they? SOLG could make them more money than the entire acquisition of Newcrest over time.
Excellent result for Scott. Now he can move forward with his plan to sell the asset/business.
Or as Quady would say, raise $5bn and build a mine with zero staff or capability, with production in about 7 years time.
The thing is Add, I don't think Mather has ever said he is against a sale provided it was a fair offer.
Yes, he was guilty of showing the opposite strategy - empire building, securing all the regionals etc. But without that we wouldn't have had the Porvenir discovery and it's debatable as to whether we'd having landed the Franco funds.
That banging of the production drum as you put it, actually secured significant production focused investment which meant less dilutive finance.
Aside from that, we know that BHPs strategy has only ever been to try and squash us into the dirt. Newcrest always were inconsequential.
Their continued protest votes 3 years on are pretty pathetic, ubless they still believe that toppling Mather brings down the whole shabang.
Oh gosh... a green filtered post. the parrot must be really upset this morning with last nights AGM results.
Morning Add
As far as Nick goes I think BHP have always had it in for him.
At this stage I think it’s simply a case of a win is a win
Bbg. Havnt you noticed the sp.
And your worried about dilution.
Besides adikt and co repeatedly tell me. Mather has no say in anything.
Gulibles
Interesting to note that shareholders with approximately 1bn shares abstained or didn't vote. That's a lot.
Main thing here is let’s enjoy what will surely Bea upwardly projecting share price today and who knows we might actually get back into double figures today
Have a good day and finally moons once again seem to be aligning
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!!
You have to ask who on earth would want Nick Mather removed.
Answer only those that want to acquire Solgold on the cheap.
Onwards now towards PFS3 where we hopefully get the costs to build.
Bozi, I voted against NM in 2020, but at that stage we didn't know what has now emerged from the DC court case i.e that NM wants to sell. At the time he kept banging the production drum, which was probably BS, but it did him no favours.
Whichever is the case we need him on the board to support SC in the drive towards a sale.
They don't like Mather because Mather controls a large % of solgold shares which BHP want to own.
They want to remove Mather because he has a strong view that the company should be sold at a premium, and not handed to a group such as BHP so that they can dilute Mather and all us small guys.
In Mather we trust!
Add - I think it was resolution 11.
You're right about Mather. Two of the big guns against him again. Pretty childish at this stage IMO.
Bozi, were the Treasury shares covered by Resolution 10, or did they fall under 11 and 12?
Some really have it in for NM!! I am certain that my vote for him was instrumental in keeping him at the table:)
And as stated well in advance of the AGM, the bb made a lot of noise for nothing.
Greetings from Italy, land of great beauty and excessivelly good food!
