If that pokey little hovel is in central london, its probably worth far more than all the north combined ;)
Anyway, whats with the heatpump chat? SOLG starting a new venture and actually wanting to monetise things? Chance would be a fine thing.
I can tell everyone what will be in the new reource update...a s**t ton more gold and copper than previosly estimated. There you go SOLG, saved you the effort, expense and SH dissapointment of issuing yet another useless RNS that the market no longer cares about. Now will you show us something of value that we all want to see, and that the market cares about? Perhaps monetising said s**t ton of gold and copper.
I’m happy with the gas boiler! It works
As are 21 million other households which was my initial point. Nobody is going to change over to this useless tech unless it makes sense.
Your average factory worker who stuffs chickens for a living wants a week in Benidorm for the family rather than a new heating system. People just don’t have the cash for this nonsense
If you’re got an acre of land you should be looking at a ground source heat pump not air!
I live in northern England in a large six bed detached on about an acre site. I have loft insulation and cavity wall insulation but owing to the size of the property (for example it boasts a games room with full size snooker table and bar), octopus are not doing such installs just yet.
I guess if you’re less well off and have a pokey little hovel they will gladly install a heat pump
This was the email I got back Quady
https://freeimage.host/i/octopus.J0pNatI
Where do you live Slug.
Houses with 20 bedrooms have heat pumps, as long as you have cavity wall insulation and loft insulation you can fit any house that is grade C or above.
You convict yourself again of being the most unintelligent poster in here.
I know you are lying.
Quady, I enquired about heat pumps with octopus and I was told they aren’t installing them on properties the size of mine yet
I was just curious, there’s no way I’d do it anyway it would be utterly moronic
Agreed rcgl2 .
In the winter it's not as efficient, but you can get electricity at 16 pence a unit to charge your battery.
I have no gas.
As usual Slug proves himself to be the most unintelligent poster on here.
He just lies.
Octopus will install any size solar with as much battery as you want.
In fact the bigger the house, the more affordable it is.
On heat pumps, you can have more than one and still attract the 7500 pound government grant spread across both heat pumps.
Tesla how are you saving £6k from having heat pumps? How big was your gas bill before you got them?! My house isn't that much smaller than yours although it's a lot newer... My estimate gas bill is £1200 a year.
By the way, I have a PV system with a battery. It has reduced my electricity consumption by about 1/4 over the year, but I'm still exporting about half what I generate. Unfortunately due to the height of my neighbours house I barely generate anything over the winter. Can generate more in a single day in June or July than in the entire month of Dec or Jan. Shows the limitations of solar in the UK.
And also in todays telegraph….
Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) represented just 14.7% of new car sales in January, down from 19.7% in December, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
It comes after full-year figures for 2023 revealed that the market share of EVs was going into reverse for the first time, with many drivers still put off by high upfront costs, unevenly spread charging networks and big insurance premiums.
Tesla, I’m more worried what our own future looks like than that of the oil companies
Power outages when it’s not sunny or windy
People freezing to death if they can’t afford heat pumps
Personal transportation being taken away from all and left for only the rich
Endless digital surveillance and the horrors that come with it such as restrictions on movement, travel, diet, purchases and whatever as they come down on
And this all being ushered in by an army of gullible useful idiots!! Covid was the dry run, they worked out how stupid you all are
Jealousy is a weak emotion, sluggy. Perhaps that's why you are so afflicted with it?
Octopus will only install heat pumps and solar if you have a tiny house. Jackson is a woke scumbag who amongst other sins diverted money into the causes of BLM.
As for the threat to fossils, it is non existent. The last round of wind auctions failed to get a single nod even though the cap was set at what fossils cost us. They had to subsidise them with a 66% uplift to get any more contracts
That’s not just unaffordable, it is downright stupid
And it doesn’t solve the problem of intermittency, nor does it address the fact that 21 million homes are heated by gas and CANNOT AFFORD thousands if not tens of thousands to switch to a colder system
That’s why so few have done it. Rich Willy wavers basically
Good afternoon Tesla
Octopus have a deal where if you have a battery, you can discharge to 20 percent, and they will pay you 40 pence a kilowatt, between the hours of 16.00 to 21.00.
And buy energy after midnight at 16 pence a kilowatt.
Because the energy you export feeds your neighbours, so minimal volt drop at a peak period.
.
Red you print so much rubbish. For a start do you seriously think anyone took any notice of your pathetic "plea"?
And secondly , you have most of the recent posters filtered , according to you , so how come you haven't got green boxes?
You are just a total liar pal.
Slug, you being unable to read or write doesn't really seem like a problem Apple will rush to address. On a similar note, they probably can't stop you posting stupid crap about topics you don't understand. It's you who needs to fix that trait. Sorry.
Jezzoo
Batteries and solar, but I have a small pv set up, the batteries are where the savings are and exporting back to the grid.
Charging at 7.5p/kWh and selling back to the grid at 15 p/kWh
Last year I would charge my EV using solar but there is no lint now when I can get double exporting it.
Firstly the grant, like any government grant is not that easy to access. Too much paperwork and hoops to jump, through.
Secondly people are sceptical, just like you , about the savings.
People who put solar in 15 years ago have been laughing all the way to the bank, those early adopters are now taking up the offers currently available.
I thought 18 months ago this was too good to true, now it has got even better……it’s nuts
In the telegraph today
It has also benefited from growing demand across its green energy generation and EV leasing divisions, which continue to thrive despite increased scrutiny of net zero.
Mr Jackson believes fossil fuel companies are responsible for whipping up a backlash against the transition, as they are fearful of renewables replacing oil and gas.
He said: “I think 2023/24 is the year in which fossil fuel companies have woken up to the very real threat that their businesses now face. Already, electric vehicles are taking 1.5 million barrels of oil off the road every day.
“That’s enough for oil companies to start noticing problems and you are beginning to see some scale back production forecasts.
“As a result, some are trying to foster a backlash against the [net zero] transition. I think some of them are beginning to get very worried about what their future looks like.”
I'm a little confused, I worked for a company selling heat pump systems about four years ago and I don't remember them for earning money from the electricity company. I'm assuming you omitted the fact you run solar to harvest power and run the pumps off that and have a surplus ? Heat pumps certainly do not make electricty.
"A get rich scheme" You sure about that? Because I can assure you it doesn't feel like it.
Damned phone. Apple need to fix this urgently, how big an improvement it would be if it just left valid words alone instead of changing to what it thinks you mean
*about it
*totally unachievable
Liberals like Johnson are famous for being able to understand objectives but not understand systems. That’s what we’re seeing here, a silly utopia that can never happen
Slug, another reply, another admission that you either lied or have genuinely been taken in by an age-old story about cars that run on water. Let's get this one out the way first, then we can start dismantling your other thick AF arguments.
The numbers are nothing like compelling especially if you have to dig up your marble flooring to put pipes in.
15,000 takers out of 21million who have a boiler. Why is that?! Stop and think about for a moment and the penny may finally drop why this idea is totally in achievable
Well done guys for resisting the temptation...
Many more green stripes but at least I don't have to scroll through pages of pointless argument...
Thanks!
