Morning Kat …… someone agrees with you
Elliott Management to invest >1bn in mining
· Elliott, the giant US activist fund that enjoys making governments pay up on their debt, has announced it plans to invest >$1bn in mining assets (FT)
· The group, which is perhaps best known for holding Argentina’s feet to the fire, is looking for under-financed mines to invest in.
· The strategy reminds us of the development of Xstrata which hoovered up under-capitalised and under-valued mid-tier assets with the backing of Glencore.
· The new venture called Hyperion, will be led by Sandeep Biswas who was formerly CEO of Newcrest Mining.
· Hyperion can buy into most of the sector including EV metals, base metals and precious metals.
· The investment strategy ranges from taking stakes in existing companies to acquiring single mines and full corporate takeovers.
· The group might also co-invest on larger transactions.
· We see this move and other new interest as marking the bottom of the current downturn in the mining sector.
Shopping list for Elliott
SolGold* for its Cascabel project
Sovereign Metals* world-class Kasiya rutile and graphite project
Savannah* lithium project in Portugal

Kat, you and your views on putin will be sorely missed.
Enjoy your time in your italian villa, and enjoy your down time with the other resident italian. Bbg.
I'm sure if putin decides to visit with his armies, your idyllic life won't change.
( ..... I'm taking a break after following the conquest of Avdiivka and surrounding territory )
Looks like the majority and dominant view on this BB is now negative on SOLG, and as the majority is always wrong, looks like the bottom is here or hereabouts.
I know what a wonderful team of altruistic human beings this group of knockers are; spending all their time on here, saving Joe Public from his collective investment folly.
( Real life altruistic folks are helping out down the food bank, or picking up litter in the park, or fundraising for their cause, not badmouthing an obscure share on a BB , btw)
This is an operation, an attempt to depress this share price to someone's personal financial advantage, and nothing more.
Or even a fantasy operation by fantasists, thinking they are affecting market sentiment towards this share.
That someone does this for a living is sad, sad and deplorable. Being a scumbag always catches up with you, so good luck!
In the meantime, I'm feeling encouraged by this. Thanks guys for tipping your hand and waving that big fat flag in our face. I will continue to try and take advantage as I can.
( ..... and back now to the successful reintegration of the Russian borderlands. )
Fortunately covgas. bandits opinion is showing to be a tad more on the ball, at this moment in time
than your 5 year old stale opinions, and constant need to tell us to top up.
take a minute to look at the facts, that's facts.
then try to convince me that bandit has not got a valid point of view.
based on facts, not wishful thinking
Cascabel is a seriously long way from any of the troubles but we can't say the same for Porvenir. By year end things will start to hopefully improve but any bid for a complex portfolio takes time. No bidder will feel the need to rush with the share price on its knees. They will extract maximum pain before that. It's going to be a long game.
I think the risk is overplayed, it’s everywhere these days
Even the U.K. is important the third world at a rate of a million new bearded “children” a year
Disorder is the new world order
If people had listened to Scott's last interview you would have heard that there are no technical issues from potential partners at Cascabel and that the major concern for all potential partners was the current unrest, fueled as we know from gang violence and led by two Mexican cartels (worth noting they are spreading their evil as far as Australia and New Zealand so Equador by no means unique). But, the unrest has NOT affected Cascabel as its city oriented, especially port cities where they export drugs from Peru and Colombia. Since the government labeled these gangs terrorist organisations Noboas approval rating has risen to 79% and the armed forces to 95%. The government have put 32,000 soldiers on the streets and many gang members have been killed and well over 7,000 people have been arrested. Many areas have seen crime 'fall off a cliff'. My concern is how the government would be able to fund this going forward but I note today they increased VAT to 15% which raises an additional $1.3bn pa, so I see no reason why they can't succeed in their mission. So IF SOLG and the government can relay the facts, there should be no reason offers will not be forthcoming for Cascabel. I also note the Arab Emirates are signing a trade agreement with Equador so its certainly open for business. Yes there's risk but no greater than than Africa with corruption and child exploitation or Greenland or other South American countries, in my opinion anyway. People can insult each other, be positive or negative, provide factual or disinformation, it matters not to me. In my opinion (and that's all it is) SOLG is SUBSTANTIALLY undervalued with the assets it had. I'll hold until they monetise it, however long it takes. Good luck to genuine holders!
Maybe they’re just lowly stacked Twats? 🤷♂️
Well yes but Japan’s is in a bank vault not a mile underground but it is true (just!)
What’s interesting too is how far China lags behind the US in gold reserves and it is well known they are buying aggressively. A chunk like cascabel would surely help their cause?
Glad to see one or two posters finally understanding that this is a good play. It’s almost as if they’re finally seeing that net bullocks is….well….bullocks
Unless you’re 100% confident a raise won’t be dilutive in which case the share price is the opportunity of a lifetime
Look closely at the disconnect between asset value and share price. It can’t and won’t go on
Porto. That's the reality of equador.
We've a fellow on here, who claims to live in equador, who says 80% of aquador is back to normal.
Adikt claims it all calm and the bbc are dramatising it.
Quady originally claimed that it was over excited holiday makers.
Copperpot wrote a 30 paragraph post ridiculing the whole thing.
But you will find, on your journey on the solg forum, that reality is not something that comes into play if it's negative.
The majority on here think the current share price is a conspiracy conspired by something they describe as a deramper.
Just 1p? Why not three quarters of a penny? You haven't a clue u d&ck
This dog has much further to tank. This rate it will be below 5p in no time and continue to tank from there. Anyone thinking of buying now with the overhanging funding issue must be barmy.
Market has had enough of this company and its approach to these tenements. This will continue getting beaten down to 1p until a monetisation event occurs.
I’ve been on the other side of the moon, who cares
I’ve been on the other side of the moon, who cares
Stackhigh, ive always said 6p levels are the bottom, and its true, thats why ive been adding constantly in this range,
remember DYOR, and BB boards are here only for Chit Chat, nothing you say will make any difference to a Company Sp

It’s not old news. It’s from yesterday.

Loaf of bread and a coffee anyone ? 🤣
Maybe some of those voicing negative opinions of the company were taken in by your ridiculous "this is the bottom" claim, when we were 20% higher? Some of those poor folk might be smarting from the loss your inaccurate statement preceded?
Been in Cape Verde for two weeks so I guess this may have been posted
