27% down !!!
for those who listened to the recent podcast/interview with Irwin he mentioned Nexgen as a great example of why he is currently not happy about funding junior explorers until the ones he has invested in start to pay back.
`he said he thought Nexgen is undervalued and that if a bid came in for double the SP it would get knocked back as it was too low.
He mentioned Nexgen, Colonial coal and CGP, not sure why he wouldn't mention SOLG as well ad CGP, but the general spirit of his interview was that small explorers will find it very hard to get funding and that even some of the best resource discoveries such as Nexgen are not paying back those who have invested in the current market.
Pretty sure he puts SOLG in this category as mentioning CGP as one to watch essentially means us too with a much bigger stake.
Already being called Black Monday by many today.
Can someone explain why a majors aren't picking companies like ourselves currently where they can no doubt get the lot for knock down price?
Once it settles we are dangerously low now, and who knows where we could end up.
We seem to have done much worse than many, partly because the market clearly has been marking us down for some time before these drops. Also we are being seen as mainly a copper play.
Well in theory that's enough cash for first pass drilling on the world's top 5 drilling prospects, or so the story goes! And they do sound especially good to me. But what in the hell; were they expecting market respect through soil surveys and grab samples? Must be a long time out of the game if that was their thinking. If they're not interested in making the shareprice go up, then what are we supposed to think about them. If there's other problems, then they treat us poorly by not explaining them. OBVIOusly the recent drop is a Wuflu thing not a solgold thing, but how's their genius strategy looking today? Other shmucks in Ecuador are drilling holes, but we're jerking off over fish farms, while retail is destroyed.
Colonel.... I think it’s a case of calling the bottom here ..... I’m fairly sure these prices will look cheap at school me point soon ..... the only question is how cheap you can get them ...... can’t wait for some of the fantasists averages once this turns
Interesting we are down 12-13% and BHP down 16% .... don’t think that can be laid at NM ‘s door step
I think the concensus is that the cash pile last through to Dec 2020, by which time BHP will be out of their lock in (october) and can bid for the company.
My point was that being debt free and having a decent cash balance really helps support the share price in market corrections like this as the algo's are nearly always honed in on the higher risk ration stocks to debt like Tullow, PMO, ENQ and even throw KAZ into that mix too.
They've delayed the MRE3 for a few months so they will probably stretch out pea/bfs or dfs whatever you call it! The market is in no mood to entertain the MRE3 so it would be wasted news imho.
So you burn through that £20million cash pile and then what?
Thank you FatherTedFeck, a great laugh, will certainly look out for more from this guy. Loved the bit of being woke.
Nexgen is a stock often compared & contrasted with Solgold...Both pretty special discoveries at much the same time, both had duelling market caps the last 4 years, both touted by your discovery gurus, eg Irwin, Middlekoop.
Nexgen has debt. (to Lee Ka-Shing, so it's almost a feature rather than a bug, such is his name.)
How are the two performing now, comparatively?
There are some brilliant comics from that Comedy Unleashed club on YouTube. Some proper old fashioned un-PC laughs.
I found this Scottish guy pretty funny, which is miraculous by today's stand-up standards.

NM is often the central focus for investors venting off anger and frustrations, but have to say, he deserves a slap on the back for not going down the debt route. If SOLG had debt hanging over it whether bonds or cb's etc, then I think the stock would have got hammered today. Instead, the resilience of share price is down to zero debt and the $20m cash pile left. Had they not done the BHP fund raiser at 22.1p, then it would have been just as ugly.
So all in all, while greater funding concerns lay ahead, the timelines can always be pushed out and the $20m cash stretched out to Q3/Q4 if necessary.
It's now all about NM and CGP and whether between them, Corona and market sell offs have enabled them to get back around a table. Sometimes, events like these force a rethink and CGP might be more interested in getting a deal done now before they end up as forced sellers.
This morning makes you realise what a tiny canoe that is, and what a big scary route sh+t creek is to take.
China Built a hospital in 10 days.
It's that kind of action that sets them apart from the likes of US, EU and UK. They act fast whereas the west just flaps and waffles and then acts way too late. Italy have one of the best health care systems in Europe and yet they can't cope.
It's taken China 3 months to get on top of this. The US and UK got first cases about 2 weeks ago. So even if they were all as efficient as Chinese (which they are not) you could be looking at another 10 weeks before rest of the world shows signs of containment.
For the record, I think the Virus fears in the market will abate and start to turn to more positive news around Easter period to end of April. That's whe I think you'll see positive signs of FED cuts and global action via all banks.
So give it to end of March and you'll find market beginning to price in a recovery 6months in advance (eg better data coming from Q3 onwads). And don't forget, US election year so Goldmans and co will be doing Trump's support work for him.
No KB007, the company I am on about is Reneuron. (rene) This is absolutely not a recommendation to buy. But an example of how tough it is to get to market in this industry. If you know the presenter Andrew Marr, he was treated by Reneuron product after his stroke. He got functionality back, but not totally, as still has problem with his arm. I will wait for the main news media to recognise this as a cure. All the best.
It's clearly making people stupider.
£46m to be spaffed in desperate attempt to find a ****ing vaccine. Which, quite by chance, big pharma have 8 in the pipeline. Fancy that! Rubbing their hands with glee. Grown in a lab to scare people, control people, squash the markets and make billions for pharmaceutical industries. Meanwhile it’s been almost eradicated in Wuhan with introveinous Vitamin C.
You wouldn't be talking about Valrix would you Quady?
Good morning KB007, all they have done is genetically sequence the virus itself. this is common practice for all kinds of treatments over the past ten years. Stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3 testing takes years, I have been looking at bio meds for last ten years, and have not made one investment. The very first thing you have to acquaint yourself with is the clinical testing stages and what they actually mean. I today have some companies shortlisted, one I have short listed has some of the top brains on the planet and gets regular funding from many streams, not for people to make a profit, but government and individuals who are truly charitable. It's a quoted company, and they are in stage 3 testing for two life changing treatments. I am still not invested at this stage, because I realise how much money this will take. Last point if they had an effective treatment, why are we not reading this in every paper on the planet.
Good morning KB007, they claim to have an untested vaccine. Don't believe it.

Good morning Novicehunter, couldn't agree more. Easy money to be made here, but not in Solgold. I commented on Friday that many shares in the FTSE 100 and 250 yielding 10%, BP just joined the club this morning, and many more set to join. Yes dividends may be cut, but another Historic moment to make life changing changes to income Portfolio's. Sadly I called this wrong, as invested my spare cash over the last two weeks. But if you have a cash position, I can see some stonking buys over the next 6 months. Luckily I have some decent dividend payers, so will build a cash position over next 3 months, but wish I had held off in the last two weeks, as all my investments I made are all in negative territory except one, and doubt that will be in profit by Friday. Well done to all of you with decent cash positions.
New infection rate is falling. Watch China. They started the decline, and they will also lead the recovery IMO. Be careful not to sell at the bottom.
