Thats fine FTJNY but we now won't get any results before Q3, which means it will probably be accompanied by a placing depending on what happens in the next few weeks...
One of those was my buy...plus 36,322...
Sorry about that, I just got spammed with all the RogerCook posts...
is frustrating but I think the explanation they have given is credible and understandable in the current climate:-
“Commencement of drilling originally planned for November 2020 was delayed due to permitting and COVID-19 related delays resulting in further expansion of camp facilities to accommodate for isolation requirements now in place. Completion of drilling platforms and core processing facilities in conjunction with expansion of camp, office and fuel storage facilities are underway in readiness for drilling.”
The two key points here are delays in permitting and Covid with the need to build isolation facilities. Taking the permitting issue I do remember Jason Ward commenting on the delays at Rio due to obtaining the necessary water permits and he said “ we think we have found a work around” which at the time I thought sounded not quite officially rubber stamped and clearly this has turned out to be the case hence I’m guessing the quoted delays in permitting? So whilst like the rest of you I find this frustrating as the saying goes “ it is what it is” and doesn’t change the fact that Rio is still viewed as “ the sleeping giant” it just means it’s not waking up as quickly as expected but I remain confident that Rio will deliver once the drills start turning and an up-weighted drill programme of 12,000m is surely testament to their confidence in this respect IMO

“The interesting thing is Alpala and why the FNV $50m wasn't taken up...as others have noted, Alpala was the significant omission from the RNS, so I am expecting something material beyond the PFS to be announced shortly...“”
On that we agree at least
Ye Gods!
Thats the best post I've seen for weeks Jezzoo!
I wouldn't take what you see as sells and buys as gospel here HFM. I've purchased and sold previously and more time than not shows as opposite.
Remember that news on this is expected at any time now and that's probably why it wasn't included in today's RNS.
rcgl2 - a retest of the recent lows would hopefully give support and form a bullish double-bottom chart pattern which Darrenbuffer mentioned.
Thanks for your observation DBW...far from going elsewhere, I've bought another 86,222 at just over 28p...
I've already got plenty invested elsewhere and this weeks run up in silver produced the funds rot buy more here..
As a substantial shareholder I am entitled to be critical of both management and the Board...
At least I have been consistent, as follows:
Either SOLG will be bid for with a final takeout of at least £1, or...
Alpala will be JV'd
Nick massively overhyped and watching him/listening to him at presentations became really tedious...
He was guilty of massive overpromising and undelivered...people have forgiven him because of how far they've come since the days of a few coppers, for which they owe him a huge debt, however, what about people who bought in the 20s, 30s or even 40s on promises such as the ridiculous 'shock and ore'...?
The AGM vote was, simply, shocking and as I predicted, he had to go...
The Corporate Governance horrorshow was disgracefully embarrassing when Cornerstone had to call a would be /major miner' for Governance that should have been in place since 2005...basic things like Remuneration and Nominations Committees...
Errors and lapses in Regulatory Reporting, some of which the Board are still having to tidy up and
Now a vacuum while we search for a new CEO who I hope WON'T come from inside, as they're all tarnished...
A highly competent CFO who 'resigned' with no explanation and I still believe this was either because of a falling out with NM or because he was concerned at some things that were going on...
In conclusion, I am holding on, ideally for a bid...and I may buy even more if they fall further...but God am I glad I sold 318,000 the week before last...
The company has stated they have enough cash to fund a regional drilling program into Q3...
The interesting thing is Alpala and why the FNV $50m wasn't taken up...as others have noted, Alpala was the significant omission from the RNS, so I am expecting something material beyond the PFS to be announced shortly...
AIMO as usual and keep the faith, but surely it is better to have constructive debate about the company than mindless arguments about irrelevant things or tedious verbal diarrhoea...
ATB to all the sensible posters here, including some who hardly post but add real value when they pop up like today...
when have you seen those except for today?
Aerating Ecuador since 2012
Anyone else noticed a lot of grouped 50k sells over the last 4 weeks? I've noticed it umpteen times now and again this morning.
Sorry got to agree with Red.
Incompetent.
So no news blackout, at least with the reginals, just that there was nothing to say. They must have had a 4 month kip at Rio.
Morning ..... redknight1....... I think you missed a bit......Commencement of drilling originally planned for November 2020 was delayed due to permitting and COVID-19 related delays resulting in further expansion of camp facilities to accommodate for isolation
requirements now in place. Completion of drilling platforms and core processing facilities in
conjunction with expansion of camp, office and fuel storage facilities are underway in readiness for
drilling.

If you fill a gap twice is that better than filling it once?

All that tells me is that they’ve decided to drill an extra 4km at Rio , which again adds to the theory that money is not a problem.
If that’s genuinely how you feel about Solgold , your money is almost certainly better invested elsewhere.
That is not a dig just an observation, please don’t take offence
Too many RNS around here, it’s not good for the Sp. What a pile of dung this is becoming. 50p is a distant dream at the moment.
For all this who are still in awe of Nick and his "shock and ore"...
Look at the market reaction this morning...
When you look at what GGT has achieved (and I've never even owned shares there), SOLG looks like utter incompetence in comparison...
Here's a glaring example...Rio Amarillo...still flagged on the latest presentation as 'The Sleeping Giant"...its certainly sleeping!
Remember this from July 2020...
'Drill testing expected to commence this year...."
And this from October 2020
"Drill rig preparing to mobilise to Rio Amarillo to commence an initial 8000m Phase 1 Drilling Program. Completion of all regulatory permitting and camp facilities now supported by finalisation of drill rig fit-out, with mobilisation of the first drill rig planned for late-October."
And today this...
"Completion of drill sites and core processing facilities in conjunction with expansion of camp, office and fuel storage facilities are underway in readiness for...an upgraded initial 12,000m planned drilling program at the high-quality Varela porphyry copper-gold target is planned for commencement in Q2 202. ..."
Very subtle Viable
Looking at Fig 3 in the RNS holes 1,2 & 3 all go across the projected path of the core but none of them actually drill down it and even holes 4 to 8 all seem to be targeted at defining the outline of the ore body but not the actual core. I think that once they have defined the total area of the ore they will then target the core which based on the diagram in Fig 3 could and should hopefully give us those grades with long sections above 1%. For me personally it is reassuring that they don’t see the need to simply stick a drill straight down the core but are more intent on delineating the boundary of the ore body which says they are confident in what they have found IMHO
Hole #3 had a reasonably long intersection 166 m quite shallow to the surface at greater than 1% for most of it.
Last Porvenir update , Ben Whistler had plenty to comment
Last Tandayama update , Nick Mather commented
In the past someone always has
Until now where the company do not feel any need to comment on any of the operations updated.... this is odd ....... conspiracy theories please
We need one of the next assay results to be closer to the magical 1%, with it at surface, that would be the real game changer
morning DBW it looks like the sell-on-news thinking has occured this morning, and the SP is currently very frustrating, but as you remind us - there is a big prize developing here. I'd like to think that the company is steering some sort of a steady ship (rather than ruderless as some have suggested) and that this will be the start of decent newsflow again.
And as we keep saying (conspiring apparently lol) some sort of a deal for Cascabel must surely remain a distinct possibility. Flog Alpala and use the proceeds to fund the rest :)
