Add …. I’m fairly sure no one “on the inside “ will be able to buy any shares between now and the AGM .
The merger will have been in making for most of the year which I’m guessing would have precluded any buying for most of the year. Having said that it’s always better to have a CEO with serious skin in the game
Earlier on I mentioned DC's ongoing failure to buy any shares. For a while I assumed it must be because he didn't have any proper cash hanging around, but having trousered $1.2m last year, that's no longer the case.
Frankly, this annoys me. In this day and age it's expected that directors, particularly CEOs, invest some of their own money - putting money where their mouth is. His refusal to do so whilst earning this amount of money is completely unacceptable.
At least I won't have to agonise as to which way to vote with regard to the remuneration report. It'll be a straightforward NO!
At least there's not an armada of small sells walking the price down like there was one morning last week.
Calm before the storm?
There hasn't been any restriction on buying this morning. I've run a couple of dummy quotes to check it.
Interest in SOLG is at a multi year low, right at the time we all thibk we're on the verge of something transformational. One group will be right and one will be wrong. Let's hope we're on the right side.
Not impressed with the AGM date by the way. They have pushed it as late as possible. Do I take the view that this is merger related or the more cynical view? Hmmmmm.....
£2 and £20, last of the big spenders
Dbw two trades just popped up
That's the latest possible date they could do in Dec. Last year it was a week earlier.
So resolutions out 4 weeks ahead of that? Nov 22nd?
Blimey... we've got another month to drift by then!
It's just quiet ..... for now
Eish morning,I've seen this before pending news maybe ,usually a suspension pending news RNS but I maybe way of the mark here let's see ,others may have a better idea on this
Very strange, Bubble!

Hi Hubris
If you look at the upcoming events section on the investor page it says AGM December 22nd
Hey Hubris the date is the 22nd. It is on Sedar.
August 2022 Blackrock 126,702,684 shares = 5.52%
October 2022 Blackrock 107,479,126 shares = 4.68%
With so little liquidity selling 20 million shares would have a considerable impact
V quiet
Morning Kohaku01.
Thank you, but think it's PEA for Porvenir.
AGM set for Dec 22nd
That’s late …. Sorry if already noted
David, yup, he most. certainly would. In fact, after he retired he was around long enough to witness the management team balls it up. But as you say, he was too cautious for the gung-ho '80s and '90s.
Next two weeks look to be interesting like you say we are at a pivotal point now imho though it wouldn't surprise me if we see more news on PFS ,drills and permits before main news comes let's see
Quady I didn’t see info on porvenir but it states pfs addendum by year end 2022
addicknt : Arnold Weinstock would be turning in his grave at the fact that his beloved GEC is no longer. He held too much cash on the balance sheet instead of seeking takeover opportunities. Should have taken out BAe Systems when they had the chance in the 90’s. Weinstock thought they were a poorly run company. Look at BAe now.
I will scan the report later this evening.
Don't expect any surprises.
Which do we get first Alpala PFS or Porvenir's PEA.
I suspect Alpala PFS, as then we acquire funding.
Snouts in the trough addicknt, which is why we can't afford to simply go along like this anymore.
I note BnCs rancour too... but all that is the politics of yesterday, who Nick didn't like or what Nick wanted for Solg... we simply have to.out a clothes peg on our nose and accept what once seemed unacceptable and indeed who and do whatever is necessary to get us to a sale soon. The alternative doesn't bear thinking about.
Add - 100% agree. He is certainly it getting my votes at AGM. On a different topic Twiggers reason for not putting directors up for re-election last year was that he did not want to destabilise the board. Ironically the bird is very different now to then anyway…
