Rcgl2 it wont be 50p on the table ask novice
rcgl, yes they would want the 90%, that's why I don't see them making a hostile move - unless the company suddenly decides to pish them off again. This has agreed deal written all over it...it's just a question of when.
If BHP made a formal offer tomorrow for 50p I'm sure the board would not recommend it on the basis they'd say it undervalues the company. Mather and associated entities would refuse it so that's about 20% rejections from the get go, I'm sure a few other PIs and smaller funds would reject based on the board's lack of support. If they all came out and said they were rejecting it, it'd be in the interests of NCM, Blackrock, Valuestone etc to reject as well because then it is clear that BHP want the company and they are not going to want a take up rate of barely 50%... If they bid for the lot they will want 90% and compulsory squeeze out no?
CD, that was always Mather's biggest worry and I suspect the current board feel threatened in the same way. It will be interesting to see whether the rapprochement with BHP/NCM/CGP has the desired effect.
CD, you're absolutely right - the task of the board is to create some form of competitive tension in order to extract maximum value and making noises about smelter deals and production dates is all part of that process. It won't change the outcome though, although it will hopefully push the price up.
So if there's no blockers until 37p Colonel, this thing is trading on its own merits...and going up steadily...
This debate about whether it's 2025 or 2028, or any date in between, is entirely without consequence - we will not be mining it.
Assuming BHP want the asset, and at this stage it's illogical to assume anything else, they are not going to let us build the mine. Nor, in my opinion, will they let us attempt to fund it.
Colonel…. I also have an inkling ( pure speculation) that the reason they are so schtum on other tenements is because talks are well advanced on Cascabel
Don't need to Zoros, as Solgold has said it.
We wait for the PFS as that has the updated production date.
We are going cheaper and quicker.
It will not be later than 2025.
I know this because I listen.
I see no reason why Cascabel ( in the form of Tandayama) cannot make it to production by 2025 if the resource is shallow …. I just don’t see Solgold as being the ones to do it ….. if Lasso wants to achieve this target someone like BHP has a much better chance
Quady - your one and only opportunity now to make a full and final statement about production date(s) @ Alpala.................................
Z
To be fair to Quady, in the Annual Accounts last September Nick said:
"SolGold is currently targeting the commencement of production in 2025."
However, this was before the deferred PFS...
On 14 July as mwv reported, KM made it clear its 2029 as follows...
"So Keith says 2029 for production from underground mine. If we take 3 years for mine drift and 2 years for subsequent tunnels. That means mine shaft start beginning 2024. So 6 months for PFS followed by 1 year for DFS - end 2023. Then 1 year for financing and approval. Gets us to beginning 2024 to start process and 2029 for production.'
They've got an army of Irish navvies lined up with picks and shovels for 2025 zoros...
In Quady's book, digging out the first surface deposits counts as production...
He doesn't understand the meaning of 'Commercial Production'...
4 years you cannot count or listen Zoros.
Within 4 to be fair
So let me get this straight...for the record, so that everyone here can refer to it in future:
QUADY IS SAYING THAT ALPALA WILL BE IN PRODUCTION IN 3 YEARS TIME.
PMSL.
Z
Zoros in todays presentation yes it was Lasso, but it has been 2025 forever, the 2028 date is a full block cave operation.
Listening still required by yourself.
Quady.
You've actually lost the plot completely now, haven't you?
"....Note to Zoros: Production in 2025 or before, all that stuff you post about 2028 is not true.
The 2028 date refers to completion not production...."
Do you really want me to change the roadmap from 2028+ to 2025 because Lasso said so?
Is Lasso the new CEO then? Must have been out that day shopping.
I'll give you one clue why Lasso said this.....erm.....term in office? There...go and think hard about it.
Meanwhile, if you think Solg is going anywhere fast....offer me 50p now for my shares and I will be out of your hair before you can say: "diverse book".
You're nuts mate.......
Z
Can’t we just agree whichever way we move forward we all stand to make a handsome return
And one day Quady, you'll wake up to the power of BHP.
The one thing I take from the presentation was what a great job Nick Mather did at Solgold.
He still holds 4 % and controls 20% of the company.
That's just short of NCM and BHP together.
No one is going to bid for Solgold without winning NM over. It would just be to expensive for the bidder.
For those that don't understand the enormous power of a diverse share register ( Diverse book for old hands ), now is the time to start to understand it.
This has got to be the most exciting share I have ever invested in, and I am experienced enough in my 40 years of investing not to jump ship too early, and not benefit from the full potential here.
I look forward to the years ahead, and not the short term views by the posters that constantly attack my views.
All the best.
Agreed DBW, he was more Bullish on Tandy and Wow Porvenir (looking forward to that MRE ).
Note to Zoros: Production in 2025 or before, all that stuff you post about 2028 is not true.
The 2028 date refers to completion not production.
Twigger was impressive and confident ..... played his cards very close to his chest re Rio/Sharug/Blanca drilling and potential JV opportunities
We have the potential for 12 Alpala's and that's just with our upcoming drilling sites.
Alpala production in 4 years.
Does anyone really want to sell their shares for 50 pence a share?
"no wonder Newcrest & BHP are knocking on our door"
